Definitions
- the present invention relates to a system for connecting a rigid conductor in a modular electrical appliance of the type circuit breaker, said system involving a first rectilinear displacement aiming to insert the conductor into a housing of the device housing, then a second rotation movement to establish the connection by direct plug-in.
- This system aims more particularly to facilitate the connection of several modular products by a common bridging bar several devices fixed in a row on a standardized rail.
- this invention relates to other characteristics said modular electrical devices for organizing different types of bridging bars and / or conductors isolated, according to a conventional mode involving the fixing of said bars or conductors on modular devices already fixed on their rail, or in a reverse mode, when the electrical boxes are already fitted with bridging bars, fixing modular products to their rail intervening in a second time.
- the devices of the invention are notably equipped with a connection system making the connection maneuver of conductors / bridges after mounting devices much easier than in systems existing so far.
- the first guide means consist of an orifice made in a wall of the housing of the apparatus opposite, in the direction of insertion, of the stop equipping the bottom of the housing, and of dimensions greater than the dimensions of the conductor section.
- the means of carrying out the pivoting then consist of an oriented bar in the housing perpendicular to the direction of insertion of the conductor, proximity of the path taken by it, and the surface facing said path is rounded with a radius of curvature close to that of a notch made in said conductor at a distance from its end such that when it is in abutment, said notch is located opposite the rounded surface of the bar, this notch gives the end of the conductor a hook shape.
- the means for guiding the pivoting consist of an extension of the rectilinear guide hole made in the housing of the electrical appliance modular, said extension and the swivel bar being arranged on the side and on the other side of the axial insertion axis of the conductor, said extension in fact forming a slot in which the driver adjusts and slides laterally.
- connection device is a lyre connector disposed behind the slot in the housing, in an inclined orientation provided so that when the driver abuts at the end of said slot, on the one hand it is in contact with bosses equipping the ends of the branches of the lyre, and that the beak of the end hook of said conductor is on the other hand blocked by the pivot bar.
- the wall of the housing provided with the guide orifice may include, on its internal face, a sliding shutter provided with an orifice of dimensions allowing the passage of the conductor, and which alternately masks the part of the orifice aimed at the rectilinear guide and the part of the orifice aimed at the rotary guide of the conductor, the drive of the flap resulting from the change of position of the latter, and said flap being arranged, in the absence of a conductor, so that its orifice is centered on the rectilinear insertion path of the conductor.
- This component The primary function of this component is to condemn the extension of the orifice in form of a slot when the conductor is not present. He then closes the part main of said orifice when the conductor has been rotated bringing it into its slot, making the electrical appliance dustproof.
- said flap has an extension extending towards the front of the product accessible to the user, said product extension can be viewed through a window in said front panel to indicate the connection status of the system.
- this flap which slides against the internal wall of the housing of the electrical appliance modular, fulfills several functions: a function to hide the connector by the absence of a conductor, a function for closing the insertion housing of said conductor when the latter is connected in the connection device, and a function indicating the existence of a connection, available on the front of the product Modular.
- the branches of the lyre connector are recalled towards each other by a U-shaped spring, the arms of which are arranged parallel and outside the branches of the lyre.
- This system enhances the efficiency of the connector, and ensures the durability of a good contact quality even with frequent connection / disconnection.
- the quality of the contact is further improved by the fact that the ends of the branches of the lyre connector are each provided with a developing boss towards the one who equips the symmetrical branch.
- the contact points are for example formed by stamping, and a further surface treatment further increases electrical conductivity and sliding.
- the housing of the case can include two superimposed direct plug connection devices.
- the same terminal can indeed be used for a phase type application and neutral, which obviously implies a shift in the connection levels.
- said housing can include two superposed lyre connectors, the distal connector of the means rectilinear and rotary guide being oriented substantially parallel to each other and disposed opposite an orifice made in the housing of the device, said orifice preferably comprising a portion located in the wall which comprises the orifice of guide and a portion located in the sole.
- this second orifice is fundamental for the realization of the modes of modular electrical equipment which will be more systematically used in the future. So, in the boxes to come, the bridging bars will almost always be integrated into the boxes. In this case, it will obviously be necessary to be able to fix each electrical appliance on its rail in taking into account the prior existence of a bridging bar. This can be fixed perpendicular or parallel to the bottom of the cabinet. This is the reason for the existence of this orifice, which presents two orientations substantially perpendicular.
- the housing comprises, at the distal connector means guide, a clearance located in the bottom of said housing, allowing a displacement of the conductor parallel to the general plane of the sole, of a value greater than the distance required to extract the edge of a rail from standard fixing of a notch equipping the soleplate of the electrical appliance Modular.
- the apparatus of the invention comprises, between the system of connection to rectilinear then rotary movement and the front of the device accessible in use, a connection terminal.
- This terminal is conventional, for example cage and screw or, alternatively, the terminal can be spring type cage spring.
- the modular electrical devices according to the present invention must facilitate the connection of bridging bars, allow the individual assembly / disassembly of devices in boxes already fitted with bridging bars, ensuring the traditional connection of bridging bars and / or flexible or rigid conductors, etc.
- a conductor (1) in this case secured to a bar bridging (2), is inserted in the direction of arrow F in a housing (3) of the modular device housing (A) until it comes into contact with a stop (4) equipping the bottom of said housing (3). Integration is possible thanks to the existence an orifice (5) developing simultaneously opposite said stop (4) and a lyre connector (6).
- this lyre connector (6) is located between another lyre connector (7) and a conventional cage terminal (8) and screw.
- a conventional cage terminal (8) and screw The usefulness of these other terminals will be described in more detail below.
- the end of the conductor (1) has a recess (9) conferring at the end of said conductor (1) a crochet shape. This recess is located under a bar (10) whose the surface facing it is rounded.
- the second phase of the connection is set work, by performing a rotation along arrow R, the recess (9) and the rounded surface of the bar (10) then being in contact to allow the pivoting around a fixed fulcrum, allowing axis rotation substantially fixed.
- Figures 1 and 2 also show the existence of a sliding shutter (12) in particular provided with an orifice (13) surrounded by solid parts obstructing successively the upper part of the orifice (5), through which the introduction is made straight, and the lower part allowing the connection after rotation.
- said flap (12) serves as an indicator of the connection, because has a portion of appearance perpendicular to the facade in which is practiced the orifice (5), which can come into contact with a window (14) made in the front of the modular product.
- this perpendicular portion When there is no connection, this perpendicular portion is in contact with the window, while in case of connection, said portion is at a distance from the window (14). The user is therefore immediately informed about the state of the connection.
- Figures 3 and 4 provide information on the precise geometry of the orifice (5), which is functionally important to allow the realization of the connection according to the system of the invention.
- this orifice consists of an upper part (15) and an extension narrower lower (16), giving the whole a lock look.
- the part upper (15) is of dimension clearly exceeding the dimensions of the section of the conductor (1), namely in this case a tooth of the bridging comb (2). She therefore allows easy axial insertion, without the need for example the least aiming work during the first stage.
- Figure 5 is intended to show more precisely the connectors lyres (6, 7), which are preferably provided with a U-shaped spring (17) (only one is shown) exerting a restoring force on each branch towards the other plugged.
- This U-shaped spring (17) makes it possible to maintain the quality of the contact.
- the ends of the branches of the lyre connectors (6, 7) are moreover provided with bosses (18), for example obtained by stamping, the surface of which is treated to improve the quality of contact.
- the object of Figure 6 is to show the type of connection between a lyre connector, in this case the lower connector (7) and a bridging bar (2 ') with teeth (1') having a fixed orientation, for example because it secured to a box (not shown).
- Figure 7 shows another connection possibility, the bridging bar (2 ') this time being oriented perpendicular to the orientation of Figure 6, with conductors or teeth (1 ') which are parallel to the longitudinal axis of the connector triple.
- the clearance allowed by the clearance (18) must be at least equal to the depth of the notch (21) formed in the sole of the device (A).
- the arrow E indicates this possibility of movement in a direction which is substantially parallel to the sole.
- the arrow B indicates a possibility of perpendicular travel to allow disassembly of the product when a bridging bar (2 ') having teeth (1') of perpendicular appearance to the sole is connected to the product.
- connection bar which is assembled in two stages: preliminary insertion of the bar (2) effortlessly into the products (A) through an orifice (5) adapted to the shape of the teeth (1) of the bar (2), then after contact in abutment (4), rotation of the bar (2) around a point of rotation so that it stuck in the lyres (6).
- a traditional terminal (8) with cage and screw or spring (9) can also be mounted in these devices.
