Abstract

Es wird ein Verfahren zur Herstellung eines Ultraschallwandlers mit in Kunststoff eingelagerten Keramikelementen (11) aus piezoelektrischer Keramik vorgestellt, bei dem zur Senkung der Fertigungskosten in aufeinanderfolgenden Verfahrensschritte die Keramikelemente (11) als mit einem Kunststoffmantel (21) konstanter Dicke ummantelte Keramikstäbchen (20) gefertigt und die ummantelten Keramikstäbchen (20) in einem einseitig offenen, Rüttelbewegungen ausgesetzten Behälter (31) aufrechtstehend paketiert werden sowie der mit den ummantelten Keramikstäbchen (20) gefüllte Behälter (31) im steigenden Guß mit einem Kunststoff, z.B. Harz oder PU, aufgefüllt wird. Der dadurch entstehende Verbundkörper (12) wird nach Aushärten dem Behälter (31) entnommen und auf seiner Ober- und/oder Unterseite (121, 122) soweit abgeschliffen, bis die Keramikstäbchen (20) eine durch die geforderte Wandlerfrequenz festgelegte Länge aufweisen, und anschließend auf seiner Ober- und Unterseite (121, 122) mit Elektroden belegt, die alle oder nur Gruppen von Keramikstäbchen (20) kontaktieren (Fig. 1).
