This principle has been developed and has been the subject of numerous patent filings.

As an indication, mention may be made of the request for European patent EP-A1-0 208 247 where the US Patents 5,954,273 , correspond to the preamble of the independent claim, US5,255,852 and US 5,713,519 . In the latter, the carrier gas feeds two nozzles and two different liquids are injected into the nozzles to mix on the outside of the device, when the jets emitted by the nozzles meet.

Moreover, we know by the request of French patent FR-A-2 781 208 an autonomous device for spraying a support of a composition selected from a plurality of compositions having different hues, wherein the product is sprayed by a depression caused by expansion of a vector gas jet near a product delivery member, the vector gas jet being emitted by a nozzle whose axis is contained in the same plane as that of the delivery member.

Also available on the market under the trademark Ecospray ® are spraying devices which are suitable for the application of a paint on a non-keratinous support but which, in the case of use in cosmetics, do not make it possible to obtain satisfactory results.

We still know by the U.S. Patent 1,430,506 a device comprising a reservoir on which are fixed two nozzles connected to a compressed air inlet, these two nozzles can emit air jets meeting in a region located above a product supply port. Such a device requires an external source of compressed air and does not constitute an autonomous device.

It is also known to apply a make-up product by means of an airbrush, also called an "air-brush", comprising a spray pen connected to a bottle of a compressed carrier gas, this spray pen comprising on the one hand a nozzle of the vector gas ejection and secondly a cup in which the product to be sprayed is contained, this product being progressively sucked by a conduit into the cup thanks to the depression created by the Venturi effect by the speed of the carrier gas at its outlet of the nozzle. Air-brush type spraying makes it possible, in particular, to make the boundary between the treated and untreated zones less visible, to perform fades, gradients or volume impressions. The gesture is also different, since the product that is sprayed does not have to be spread once deposited on the keratin support. The application of the product is thus very hygienic, since it can be done without fingers and without applicator.

A device as described above is the subject, for example, of the Canadian patent application CA-A-2,152,406 . Similar devices are marketed by DINAIR under the registered trademarks BEAUTY ART or BODY ART, the bottle of compressed carrier gas being replaced by an air compressor. These known devices, in which the spray pen and the carrier gas source do not constitute a unitary construction, being connected by a hose, are relatively bulky and are intended primarily for professional use. They are not suitable for being carried easily by a woman in her purse, like conventional makeup accessories.

The present invention relates to a new autonomous spray device according to claim 1 which is relatively simple in construction and inexpensive and suitable for use in particular in the cosmetic field.

Particular embodiments, or even additional features of the invention, are described in the dependent claims.

The spraying device according to the invention has a unitary structure, comprises a reserve of carrier gas and at least one product arrival adapted to communicate with a reserve of said product, the latter being sucked into the reserve through a depression created in the vicinity the arrival of product by a passage of propellant.

The depression may result from the emission of propellant gas by at least two gas outlet orifices whose respective positions, that is to say the orientations and the spacing, are chosen so that the gas jets thruster emitted by these orifices meet.

Thanks to the collision of the propellant jets, it is possible to better control the shape of the spray obtained and the manner in which the product is sprayed.

The applicant has thus found that it is possible to obtain, by means of such a device, particularly satisfactory results in cosmetics, especially for the application of a hair makeup product, skin or nails.

The device according to the invention is of unitary construction, that is to say that it does not have to be connected to a source of compressed air outside the device and may have a relatively small bulk, for example a bulk compatible with carrying it in a purse.

The gas outlet ports may be arranged symmetrically with respect to the spray axis.

In a particular embodiment, the product inlet having at least one orifice, the axes of the gas outlet and product supply ports may be directed to the surface on which the product is sprayed.

The product supply port (s) may be located between the gas outlet ports when the device is observed from the surface on which the product is sprayed.

The feed member having an end through which the product, this end is for example disposed substantially in the same plane as the axes of the gas outlet orifices.

The supply member may have an axis which is coplanar with the axes of the gas outlet or alternatively an axis which is perpendicular to the spray axis.

In a particular embodiment, the delivery member comprises a tube in which the product can circulate.

In an alternative embodiment, when the product is a liquid, the supply member is made of a porous material capable of allowing the product to be transported by capillarity, in particular a felt or sintered material.

The gas outlet ports may be arranged in such a way that the emitted gas jets meet directly without deflection by a deflector member.

As a variant, the gas outlet orifices may be arranged so that the emitted gas jets meet at least partially after deflection by at least one deflector element.

In a particular embodiment, the axes of the gas outlet orifices meet without interception by the deflector element.

In a variant, the axes of the gas outlet orifices are tangent to a surface the deflector member.

The axes of the gas outlet ports may further intercept the edge of an angled portion of the baffle member.

The baffle member may be at least partially formed by a surface of the product delivery member.

In a particular embodiment, the baffle element comprises a hollow frustoconical portion forming an outlet nozzle of the product.

The angle at the top of the generatrix of this frustoconical portion, with respect to the spraying axis, may be less than or equal to 45 °.

The gas outlet ports may be set back from a free end of the delivery member, through which the product leaves.

The gas outlets may be devoid of vortex channels.

In a particular embodiment, the axes of the gas outlet ports make an angle of approximately 45 ° with the spray axis.

In a particular embodiment, the device comprises two product outlet orifices, axes parallel to the spray axis.

Still in a particular embodiment, the device comprises a container adapted to contain the carrier gas in a liquefied form.

This carrier gas is compatible with a use of the spraying device in cosmetics, when the product is intended to be sprayed on a keratinous support. The use of a carrier gas in liquidified form makes it possible to have a satisfactory autonomy and to deliver the carrier gas at a constant pressure, which makes it easier to control the spraying of the product.

The stock of product can be contained in a removable container, which allows to change product from one use to another, for example.

The product reserve can be contained in a container arranged to be supported by the container containing the carrier gas, which facilitates the handling of the assembly.

In particular, the product reserve can be contained in a container arranged to be screwed onto the container containing the carrier gas.

The stock of product can still be contained in a rotary container by relative to the container containing the carrier gas, which allows to change the sprayed product by a simple rotation of the container when the latter contains two different products stored separately.

The diameter of the gas outlet orifices is for example between about 0.2 and about 0.5 mm and for example between 0.3 and 0.4 mm.

The feed member may comprise a product outlet orifice whose diameter is for example between about 0.7 and about 1 mm and for example still between 0.8 and 0.9 mm.

The product reserve may for example be contained in a container without a return air duct, with the exception of the product supply member, which allows self-cleaning of the supply member when the spraying ceases, the product contained in the feed member being sucked into the container.

Alternatively, the container may comprise means for a return of air such as for example a microfuite or a valve adapted to open in case of depression in the container containing the product. If a microleakage is used, it is performed so as not to allow the passage of product when the device is in the supine position.

In order for example to avoid a risk of product leakage when the device is transported elongated in a handbag for example and / or to improve the preservation of the product by limiting for example the risk of evaporation of volatile constituents, the device can be arranged to allow to interrupt the fluid communication between the product supply and a product arrival.

Thus, the device comprises a reserve of carrier gas, at least one product arrival adapted to be placed in fluid communication with a reserve of said product, the latter being sucked into the reserve through a depression created in the vicinity of said at least one arrival of product by means of a vector gas emission.

According to one aspect of the invention as defined in the independent claim, the device is characterized in that it comprises at least one shutter capable of interrupting the fluid communication between said at least one product inlet and the product supply.

It is thus possible to improve the storage conditions of the product in the product reserve and in particular to prevent the escape of volatile components.

This can also avoid the risk of product leakage when the device is transported lying down or upside down, which is the case for example in a purse.

According to one aspect of the invention as defined in the independent claim, the device is arranged to automatically restore fluid communication between said at least one product inlet and the product supply, during a carrier gas emission. The device can thus be arranged in such a way that the fluidic communication is automatically interrupted when the emission of vector gas ceases.

According to an additional characteristic of the invention, the device may comprise a pushbutton able to act simultaneously, directly or indirectly, on a vector gas distribution valve and on the shutter, so that fluid communication between the arrival of product and the supply of product is established when the user presses the push button to deliver carrier gas.

The product reserve can be contained for example in a first container fixed on a second container containing the carrier gas. The two containers may also have at least one common part, for example a partition defining at least two compartments respectively containing the carrier gas and the product to be sprayed.

The container containing the product and the container containing the carrier gas can be fixedly attached without moving relative to each other during use. In this way, for example, a relatively compact assembly can be obtained that is easy to transport, particularly in a handbag.

The container containing the product may for example have an annular shape, to provide a passage, for example central, in which may extend a control member of a valve equipping the container containing the carrier gas.

The shutter can be operatively connected to at least one element actuated by the movement of a pushbutton of the device. Such an element may comprise for example a hollow rod, having at least one inner channel allowing the product contained in the product reserve to gain the arrival of product.

The shutter may comprise for example at least one seal capable of closing at least one orifice through which the product may flow to gain the at least one product inlet and able to release this orifice at least partially during dispensing. of the product.

In a particular embodiment, the shutter is constituted by a seal mounted on a hollow rod, the latter being closed at its lower end, the seal being supported by its upper face against a shoulder of the rod. The latter is traversed for example by at least one product inlet, whose diameter is less than or equal to the thickness of the seal. It is adapted to abut by its lower face against a fixed support wall, when the hollow rod is depressed, so that the seal is then compressed and at least partially releases the intake orifice, so to allow a flow of product towards said at least one product inlet. The seal may also, for example, be applied at its periphery against the inner surface of a duct in which the hollow rod can move axially, this duct can communicate freely with the outside, in which case the seal allows obtain a tight closure of the gap between the hollow rod and the inner surface of the conduit. This duct may be connected at its upper end to a lid closing the container containing the product, for example. The hollow rod can be actuated for example by the movement of a push button controlling the emission of carrier gas. The space inside the bearing wall against which the seal can abut by its lower face can communicate with the container containing the product, for example by means of an annular groove formed in a bottom wall of the container . The aforesaid conduit can be connected sealingly to the above-mentioned tubular support wall.

According to an additional feature of the invention, the device may comprise a push-button made by assembling a lower part and an upper part. The lower part can be made for example in one piece with an actuating rod, and extend in a passage, for example central, of the container containing the product. The control rod of the valve containing the carrier gas can be engaged in the operating rod of the push button.

The product which is sprayed may be a liquid, a liquid containing suspended solid particles or a sufficiently fine powder.

We have shown on the figure 1 a spraying device 1 according to a first example of implementation of the invention, comprising a first container 2 containing a reservoir of carrier gas and a second container 3 containing a liquid to be sprayed.

In the example described, the carrier gas is present in the liquefied state in the container 2 and its nature is chosen so as to be compatible with a spray on a keratinous support such as skin, nails or hair.

Of course, it is not beyond the scope of the present invention when other carrier gases are used, for example compressed air or nitrogen, and the support on which the liquid contained in the container 3 is sprayed. is non-keratinous.

The spraying device 1 comprises, in addition to the containers 2 and 3, a dispensing assembly 4 comprising a spray head 5 and an actuating member 56 such as a push-button.

The spray head 5 comprises a central nozzle 6 for dispensing the liquid contained in the container 3 and two lateral nozzles 7 for the emission of the carrier gas.

On a représenté plus en détail sur la figure 2 les buses 6 et 7.We have shown in more detail on the figure 2 the nozzles 6 and 7.

The nozzle 6 has an inner channel 8, X axis, the latter coinciding with the spray axis.

The nozzles 7 each comprise an inner channel 9 of Y axis, the Y axes each being at an angle of 45 ° with the X axis and being contained in the same plane as the X axis.

The channel 8 communicates continuously with the product contained in the container 3 and the channels 9 communicate with the propellant gas contained in the container 2 via a valve actuated by the push-button 56.

The diameter of the orifices 14 for the output of the propellant gas is 0.4 mm for example and that of the liquid outlet orifice 15 of 0.9 mm for example.

When the user presses the push-button 56, propellant gas flows in the channels 9 and expands at the outlet of the nozzles 7, causing by the Venturi effect a depression in front of the nozzle 6 and the suction of product into the channel 8.

Due to the orientation of the Y axes, the jet of propellant gas emitted by the nozzles 7 meet, which makes it possible to obtain a spray having characteristics of particle size and of spray geometry compatible with the obtaining of satisfactory results. case of application on a keratin support.

In the particular configuration illustrated on the figure 2 , the nozzle 6 also acts as a deflector element and deflects forward a portion of the propellant gas jets emitted by the nozzles 7.

In other words, the jet of propellant gas at least partially collide the nozzle 6 and then take an orientation closer to that of the spray axis.

It will be noted that the nozzle 6 has a hollow frustoconical portion 11 whose generator is at an angle to the spray axis X which is smaller than the angle that each Y axis makes with the X axis.

Dans l'exemple représenté sur la figure 2, la buse 6 présente une face d'extrémité 12 plane et perpendiculaire à l'axe X et l'axe Y de chaque buse 7 intercepte le bord 13 circulaire de la face d'extrémité 12.In the example shown on the figure 2 , the nozzle 6 has a flat end face 12 perpendicular to the X axis and the Y axis of each nozzle 7 intercepts the circular edge 13 of the end face 12.

The distance H between the end face 12 of the nozzle 6 and the edge 16 of the front face of each nozzle 7 is about 1.7 mm, for example.

In the exemplary embodiment of Figures 1 and 2 the nozzles 6 and 7 are constituted by inserts.

Of course, it is not beyond the scope of the present invention when the liquid and propellant outlet orifices are constituted by the ends of inner channels made in a single piece, as shown in FIG. figure 3 .

In this figure, there is shown a spray head 20 traversed by side channels 21 communicating with the propellant reserve and a central channel 22 communicating with the liquid reserve and opening out through an orifice X axis X .

Les canaux 21 débouchent à l'extérieur par des orifices distincts 23 d'axes Y sécants avec l'axe X.The channels 21 open to the outside through separate orifices 23 intersecting Y axes with the X axis.

In the embodiment of the figure 3 the jets of propellant gas emitted by the channels 21 strike directly, without prior deflection by a deflector element such as the nozzle 6 described above.

The invention is not limited to the distribution of a single liquid and it is possible, without departing from the scope of the present invention, to dispense a mixture of at least two products, one of the products being able to be contained in the container containing the propellant and driven with the latter.

The two products can also be contained in two separate containers, different from that containing the propellant.

In this case, the supply of the liquids can be done by two separate ways, as illustrated on the figure 4 .

In this figure, the channel 22 has been replaced by two channels 30 and 31 communicating respectively with two different product reserves, for example two products to be packaged separately and mixed extemporaneously.

The Z axes of the orifices 32 and 33 of the channels 30 and 31 are parallel to the X axis of spraying.

The spray axis X may be horizontal or have a different orientation, depending on the ergonomics of the spray device and the location of the area to be treated.

The spraying device can be provided to operate upside down or upside down.

The product can be contained in a removable container, as will now be described with reference to the figure 5 .

The Figures 5 and 6 although not included in the subject matter of the claims, are useful for understanding the invention.

In this figure, there is shown a device 40 comprising a container 41 containing propellant and a container 42 containing a reserve of product P.

Le récipient 41 est pourvu d'un col fileté 43.The container 41 is provided with a threaded neck 43.

The container 42 has an annular mounting skirt 47, arranged to screw onto the threaded neck 43.

The pushbutton 45 has two orifices 48 for distributing propellant gas forming an angle between them and whose Y axes are intersecting and intersect substantially vertically above a liquid supply member 50, constituted in the example of the figure 5 by a dip tube into the bottom of the container 42.

Le tube 50 traverse de manière étanche le couvercle 48.The tube 50 passes through the cover 48 in a sealed manner.

The upper end of the tube 50 is provided with an orifice 51 allowing the exit of the liquid under the effect of the depression created by the ejection of propellant gas through the orifices 48, when the user presses the push button 45 .

The removable attachment of the container 42 to the container 41 allows the user to reconstitute the liquid reserve when it is exhausted by replacing the container 42 with a new container filled with product.

The user can also, thanks to the removable mounting of the container 42 on the container 41, select the container 42 from several containers containing different products, for example products of different colors.

Thus, the user uses only one container 41 containing the propellant gas in connection with a container chosen from several containers containing different products.

It should be noted that the container 42 has no air intake port other than the inner channel of the tube 50.

When the product is dispensed during the actuation of the push button 45, a depression is created in the container 42 and when stopping the distribution, the return to the equilibrium pressure in the container 42 is accompanied by a descent of the product in the tube 50, which allows a kind of self-cleaning of the tube 50 and limits the risk of clogging thereof.

Of course, the supply member is not limited to a tube in which the product is sucked and the tube 50 may be replaced for example by a material capable of absorbing the product P by capillarity, for example a wick, felt or sintered.

On the figure 6 , there is shown a felt tip 60 replacing the tube 50 of the figure 5 , the cover 48 then being provided with a skirt 61 allowing the attachment of a removable closure cap 62 which isolates the felt tip 60 from the ambient air in the absence of use and prevents it from drying out .

The invention is not limited to the embodiments which have just been described.

In particular, a plurality of reservoirs containing different liquids can be mounted on a cylinder, in a manner similar to that described in the application for French patent FR-A-2 781 208 supra.

The spraying device 100 shown in FIG. figure 7 comprises a pressurized container 101 containing for example a carrier gas in liquefied form, for example butane, isopropane, isobutane or a fluorinated compound, and a dispensing assembly 102 comprising a push-button 103 and a container 104 containing a product P, for example a liquid foundation. The product P may for example be a liquid comprising a suspension of solid particles.

The container 104 comprises, in the example described, a cavity 105 of generally annular shape about an axis W, this cavity 105 containing the product P being delimited radially outwardly by a first tubular wall 105a and radially inwardly by a second tubular wall 105b. The walls 105a and 105b are joined at their lower part by a bottom wall 105c, which has an annular groove 107, W axis, whose role will be specified later.

La cavité 105 est fermée supérieurement par un couvercle 110, sur la face inférieure duquel se raccorde un conduit 111 d'axe parallèle à l'axe W. Le couvercle 110 vient prendre appui contre un épaulement 112 réalisé à l'extrémité supérieure de la paroi 105a.The cavity 105 is closed topally by a cover 110, on the lower face of which is connected a conduit 111 of axis parallel to the axis W. The cover 110 bears against a shoulder 112 formed at the upper end of the wall 105a.

The conduit 111 extends over substantially the entire height of the cavity 105 and is assembled at its lower end with a wall 114, projecting upwards on the bottom wall 105c, directly above the groove 107. The assembly of the conduit 111 and the wall 114 is made for example by fitting. The aforementioned wall 114 may be continuous or discontinuous and may for example form pads.

The conduit 111 and the cover 110 may be made in one piece, for example.

The push button 103 is formed for example by the assembly of an upper portion 103a and a lower portion 103b. In the illustrated example, the latter is made in one piece with a hollow rod 120 for actuating a valve of the pressurized container 101, slidable inside the wall 105b.

This valve may comprise a hollow rod 121, sealingly engaged in the lower end of the rod 120, and bearing by a shoulder against the lower end face of the rod 120.

The push-button 103 can be moved along the axis W to act on the control rod 121, in which case the carrier gas circulates in the inner conduit of the rod 120 and gains a cavity 125, with which communicate, as can be see on the figure 2 , two inner conduits 126a and 126b opening out of the pushbutton through vector gas outlet ports 127a and 127b. The orifices 127a and 127b have, for example, substantially perpendicular axes Za and Zb and are, for example, at an angle of approximately 45.degree. With the direction of spraying.

The push-button 103 also comprises an orifice 130 for the arrival of the product, of axis Zc, for example, coinciding with the direction of spraying. The orifice 130 communicates for example with the interior of a hollow rod 140 closed at its end lower by a wall 141, as can be seen on the figure 11 and on which is engaged an annular seal 150 serving as a shutter, this seal 150 being for example made of elastomer.

In the example illustrated, the seal 150 bears on its flat upper face 151 against an annular rib 142 of the rod 140. The latter has at least one product inlet orifice 145, the diameter of which is less than or equal to the nominal thickness of the seal 150, measured along the axis of the rod 140. The orifice 145 is positioned so that the seal 150, when resting against the rib 142, completely covers the orifice 145 and prevents the product P contained in the cavity 105 from penetrating through the orifice 145 in the rod 140.

The rod 140 is for example fixed at its upper end in a housing 160 of the push-button 103 and can move together with the rod 120 when the user presses the push-button 103. During the depression of the rod 140 , the seal 150 is compressed between the wall 114 and the rib 142, such compression having the effect of reducing its thickness and at least partially releasing the orifice 145, so that the product contained in the cavity 105 can flow to through the orifice 145, go up the rod 140 and reach the product inlet port 130.

When the push button 103 is released, the rod 140 rises with the latter and the seal 150 can resume through a shape memory of sufficient thickness to close the orifice 145.

To spray product P, the user presses the push button 103, which causes the depression of the stem 121 of the valve of the container and the emission of carrier gas in the inner channel of the rod 120. The gas vector can flow through the conduits 126a and 126b and out through the orifices 127a and 127b, which creates by Venturi effect in front of the product inlet port 130 a depression. The depression of the push-button 103 also results in moving the rod 140 and compressing the gasket 150, as explained above. The orifice 145 is then at least partially released and the product P contained in the cavity 105 can, under the effect of the aforesaid depression, go up in the inner channel of the rod 140 and reach the orifice 130. The product is then sprayed in the direction of the Zc axis, as the user presses the push button 103. When the latter is released, it can go back to its rest position because the control rod 121 is recalled by elastic means proper to the container 101 in its initial position and under the effect of the own elasticity of the seal 150. The latter, by resuming its initial shape, closes the orifice 145, so that in case of transporting the device 100 in the extended position or upside down, the product P remains contained in the cavity 105 and is not likely to leak through the product inlet port 130.

The container 104 may for example be removably attached to the container containing the carrier gas, so as to allow, if necessary, to change the container 104 because the supply of product is exhausted. This can also make it possible to replace the container 101 or to spray different products successively by means of a single container 101.

In the example corresponding to Figures 7 to 11 , the arrival of product is constituted by the end of a conduit formed in the pushbutton but it is not beyond the scope of the present invention when the arrival of product comprises a material capable of absorbing by capillarity of the product for example a wick, a felt or a sinter.

Of course, the invention is not limited to the examples which have just been described and, in general, it is possible to replace the shutter which has been described by any appropriate sealing means, for example means of sealing. shutter comprising, as illustrated in figure 12 , two coaxial walls 201, 202 movable relative to each other, constituting a shutter.

The wall 202, the innermost, may be formed for example by a hollow rod integral with the pushbutton, being closed at its lower end. The product can go up inside this rod when a depression is created by a vector gas emission.

The wall 201, the outermost, is fixed and is able to close an orifice 203 of the wall 202 when the pushbutton is at rest. The wall 202 has an orifice 204 opposite which the orifice 203 can come when the push button is depressed, which at least partially releases the orifice 203, to allow the product to gain the arrival of product.

A valve, for example a ball valve, controlled in opening by the displacement of the push-button could also be used, as illustrated in FIG. figure 13 . Such a valve can take a closed position when the pushbutton is released by the user. In the illustrated example, the valve comprises a ball 210 forming a shutter, returned to a closed position by a spring 211. An actuating rod 212 is arranged to be moved downwardly when the pushbutton is depressed. The product can then flow through a conduit 213 to reach the area where the depression is created, to be sprayed.

The annular groove 107 could, in alternative embodiments, be eliminated, for example if the product is allowed to gain the interior space to the wall 114, for example by means of openings made in this wall and in the end. lower duct 111.

It is not beyond the scope of the invention when the product inlet comprises a product supply member such as a felt, a foam, a sinter, as illustrated in FIG. figure 14 . In this figure, there is shown a felt tip 220 used to bring the product by capillarity in the area where the vacuum is created, this felt tip being for example fixed in the hole 130 above.

The control rod 121 of the container containing the carrier gas could still control the carrier gas distribution by being inclined with respect to the axis W, provided to realize the push button accordingly.

The container 104 can be made without air intake or with air intake, especially if prolonged use is envisaged.

To allow a return of air, one can for example make a microfuite 230, as illustrated on the figure 9 , through the cover 110 or between the cover and the wall 105a of the container 104, which corresponds to the example shown in FIG. figure 9 . Such a microleak is made to prevent the passage of the product especially when the device is in a supine position, but to allow the passage of air.

It is also possible to provide, for example, a valve 240 capable of closing off an air intake orifice 241, as illustrated in FIG. figure 10 . The valve 240 opens in case of depression inside the container containing the product and closes the orifice 241 in the opposite case.

The valve 240 may for example be overmolded on the cover 110, but could still be made otherwise without departing from the scope of the present invention.
