Abstract
L'invention est relative à des compositions susceptibles d'être obtenues par mélange d'une solution d'un tensio-actif anionique avec une solution d'un cation minéral de charge supérieure ou égale à 2. Elle est également relative à leur utilisation dans les milieux aqueux, notamment pour la clarification des eaux résiduaires urbaines ou industrielles.

COMPOSITIONS D UN TENSIO-ACTIF ANIONIQUE ET D UN CATION MINERAL APPLIQUEES EN MILIEUX
AQUEUX
La présente invention concerne une nouvelle composition utilisable notamment dans les milieux aqueux.
Elle est également relative à son application au traitement des milieux aqueux, notamment à la clarification des eaux résiduaires, mais aussi à d'autres applications Il est connu d'employer divers agents lors du traitement des eaux, notamment des eaux usées (urbaines ou industrielles).
On peut ainsi citer le chlorure ferreux ou ferπque, le sulfate ferreux ou ferπque, le chlorosulfate ferπque.
On peut également utiliser des polychlorures ou des polychlorosulfates d'aluminium, en raison notamment de leurs bonnes propriétés de floculation et de coagulation.
La présente invention a notamment pour but de fournir un composé utilisable dans les milieux aqueux, efficace notamment dans le traitement des milieux aqueux, par exemple des eaux usées ou des effluents aqueux industriels, et plus particulièrement dans la clarification des eaux résiduaires d'origine urbaine ou industrielle.
Ainsi, l'objet principal de l'invention consiste en une composition, en particulier une solution, susceptible d'être obtenue par mélange (réaction), en général sous agitation, d'au moins une solution A d'au moins un tensio-actif anionique avec au moins une solution B d'au moins un cation minéral de charge supérieure ou égale à 2, dans une proportion supérieure à la stœchiométπe
Par proportion supérieure à la stcechiométπe, on entend que le rapport molaire cation minéral de charge supérieure ou égale à 2 sur tensio-actif anionique est supérieur au rapport charge du tensio-actif anionique sur charge dudit cation minéral La composition selon l'invention possède une fonction de neutralisation de charge applicable notamment en coagulation/floculation, en complexation.
Tout tensio-actif anionique comporte une partie non-ionique (qui est généralement constituée d'une chaîne hydrocarbonée à caractère hydrophobe et, éventuellement, d'une chaîne polyalcoxylée à caractère hydrophile, notamment polyéthoxylée) et une partie polaire ionique. La partie polaire ionique du tensio-actif anionique de la solution A est habituellement un phosphate, un phosphonate, un carboxylate, un sulfonate, un sulfate ou un succinate de métal alcalin ou alcahno-terreux.

On peut notamment employer un tensio-actif anionique choisi parmi les alkylphosphates, les alkylarylphosphates, les étherphosphates, les alkylsulfonates, les alkylbenzènesulfonates, les alkylsulfates, les alkylarylsulfates, les alkyléthersulfates, les alkylaryléthersulfates ou les dialkylsulfosuccinates de métal alcalin, polyalcoxylés (notamment polyéthoxylés) ou non.
Le tensio-actif anionique de la solution A peut être tel que sa partie non-ionique présente une valeur HLB ("Balance Hydrophilie / Lipophilie") supérieure à 10, en particulier d'au moins 1 1 ,5, par exemple comprise entre 1 1 ,5 et 1 7. Cette partie non-ionique comprend alors habituellement, outre une chaîne hydrocarbonée à caractère hydrophobe, une chaîne polyalcoxylée à caractère hydrophile, en particulier polyéthoxylée.
Ledit tensio-actif anionique peut être ainsi choisi parmi les sulfates de tri(phényl-1 éthyl) phénols polyoxyéthylénés ayant de 10 à 40 motifs d'oxyde d'éthylène (O.E.) par mole de phénol et dont la partie non-ionique présente une valeur HLB ("Balance Hydrophilie / Lipophilie") supérieure à 10, en particulier d'au moins 1 1 ,5, par exemple comprise entre 1 1 ,5 et 18.
Alors, par exemple, ledit tensio-actif anionique est un sulfate de tri-(phényl-1 éthyl) phénol polyoxyéthyléné ayant 1 6 motifs O.E..
Le tensio-actif anionique de la solution A peut également être tel que sa partie non-ionique présente habituellement une valeur HLB d'au plus 10, en particulier d'au plus 8, par exemple d'au plus 4. Alors, par exemple, ledit tensio-actif anionique est un dodécyl sulfate de métal alcalin, de préférence de sodium.
Le cation minéral de la solution B présente une chaîne supérieure ou égale à 2. Il est habituellement choisi parmi g2+, Al3+, Fe3+, La3+, Zr4+. Le dit cation est, de préférence, Fe3+ ou, de manière encore plus préférée, Al3+.
De même, ledit cation minéral est présent dans la solution B en général sous forme d'un sel soluble. A titre de sel soluble, on peut utiliser les chlorures, les nitrates, les acétates. En général, on utilise un sel soluble exempt de l'élément azote, ce qui permet de s'affranchir des problèmes éventuels liés à sa présence. De manière très préférée, on emploie un chlorure.
La solution B est de préférence une solution de chlorure ferrique ou, de manière encore plus préférée, une solution de chlorure d'aluminium.
De manière avantageuse, la solution A de tensio-actif anionique et la solution B de cation minéral de charge supérieure ou égale à 2, par exemple dans le cas du chlorure d'aluminium, sont mises en œuvre de telle manière que le rapport molaire
(cation minéral de charge supérieure ou égale à 2) / (tensio-actif anionique) soit compris entre 1 et 20, en particulier entre 1 ,5 et 10 ; les solutions A et B sont par
exemple mises en œuvre de telle manière que ce rapport molaire soit compris entre 2 et 5.
La quantité de tensio-actif anionique mise en œuvre est de préférence d'au plus 0,6 mole, en particulier d'au plus 0,4 mole, par exemple comprise entre 0,1 5 et 0,35 mole, par kg de mélange réactionnel (solutions A + B).
La quantité de cation minéral de charge supérieure ou égale à 2 mise en œuvre est de préférence comprise entre 0,2 et 0,9 mole, en particulier entre 0,25 et 0,8 mole, par exemple entre 0,35 et 0,65 mole, par kg de mélange réactionnel (solutions A + B). La solution A présente généralement une teneur en tensio-actif anionique supérieure à sa concentration micellaire critique : elle contient ainsi en général le tensio-actif anionique sous forme de micelles.
La solution B présente généralement une teneur en cation minéral (de charge supérieure ou égale à 2) inférieure à la solubilité du sel employé. De manière préférée, le pH de la solution A de tensio-actif anionique est inférieur au pH de polymérisation dudit cation minéral : ainsi, de préférence, ce cation minéral ne se polymérise pas au cours de la préparation de la composition selon l'invention.
Il est souhaitable que le tensio-actif anionique se trouve sous forme dissoute dans la solution A.
De même, de manière préférée, le pH de la solution B de cation minéral de charge supérieure ou égale à 2 est inférieur au pH de polymérisation dudit cation : ce cation minéral est ainsi de préférence mis en œuvre sous forme non polymérisée.
Le plus souvent, les solutions A et B à mélanger se trouvent à une température comprise entre 10 et 75 °C.
La température de la solution A de tensio-actif anionique est généralement supérieure à sa température de Kraft.
La composition selon la présente invention est en général préparée par addition de la solution A de tensio-actif anionique dans la solution B de cation minéral de charge supérieure ou égale à 2. Selon une variante, d'une part, cette addition est effectuée lentement, et, d'autre part, la solution A présente une température comprise entre 10 et 30 °C. Selon une autre variante plus préférée, d'une part, cette addition est effectuée rapidement, et, d'autre part, la solution A présente une température d'au moins 40 °C, par exemple comprise entre 40 et 75 °C. La composition selon l'invention se présente généralement sous la forme d'une solution. Les conditions de préparation sont telles que cette solution est, de préférence, homogène, en particulier monophasique.
Le pH de la composition selon l'invention est avantageusement inférieur à 2.
Elle peut être utilisée dans les milieux aqueux.
Elle peut être employée notamment dans le traitement des milieux aqueux, par exemple des eaux usées ou des effluents aqueux industriels, et plus particulièrement dans la clarification des eaux résiduaires d'origine urbaine ou industriellepour le traitement de milieux aqueux ; ce traitement peut être réalisé selon les méthodes classiquement mises en œuvre dans ce domaine. Elle peut être également utilisée pour la détoxification d'effluents chargés en espèces polluantes anioniques (notamment arseniates, chromâtes, plombâtes) et pour la décantation des vases portuaires ou lagunaires. Dans le cas où le tensio-actif anionique de départ est tel que sa partie non-ionique présente une valeur HLB d'au plus 10, en particulier d'au plus 8 et par exemple d'au plus 4, la composition selon l'invention peut être mise en œuvre pour le conditionnement de boues issues de l'épuration, notamment par voie biologique, d'eaux usées ou résiduaires, d'origine urbaine ou industrielle.
En outre, la composition selon l'invention peut être employée comme aide à la filtration d'oxydes minéraux, une telle filtration étant une opération unitaire très fréquente dans l'industrie chimique. Elle peut ainsi permettre d'augmenter la vitesse de filtration et donc d'accroître la productivité des moyens de filtration utilisés.
La composition selon l'invention, notamment dans le cas où le tensio-actif anionique de départ est tel que sa partie non-ionique présente une valeur HLB d'au plus 10, en particulier d'au plus 8 et par exemple d'au plus 4, peut trouver une application particulièrement intéressante dans les procédés de traitement ou de fabrication du papier. Elle peut ainsi être utilisée pour le désencrage du papier ; elle peut également être employée comme agent de rétention dans la fabrication de la feuille de papier ou comme agent d'hydrofugation des surfaces papier. Elle peut aussi être destinée au traitement de minerais.
Enfin, la composition conforme à la présente invention peut être employée dans les applications traditionnelles des tensio-actifs cationiques, par exemple :
- dans le domaine du pétrole, comme bactéricide, inhibiteur de corrosion, agent retardant le colmatage, émulsionnant cationique, - comme bactéricide ou algicide dans les produits d'entretien, d'hygiène ou de cosmétique,
- comme adoucissant pour les textiles,
- dans le domaine du traitement de surfaces comme agent de nettoyage de bacs et de citernes. Les exemples suivants illustrent l'invention sans toutefois en limiter la portée.
EXEMPLE 1
On prépare une solution aqueuse A de Soprophor 4D384 (sulfate de tri-(phényl-
1 éthyl) phénol polyoxyéthyléné ayant 1 6 motifs d'oxyde d'éthylène) en introduisant, sous agitation, 17,7 g de Soprophor 4D384, dont la partie non-ionique présente une valeur HLB de 1 2,5, dans 53 g d'eau de pH égal à 2,0, puis en ajoutant quelques gouttes d'acide chlorhydrique concentré pour ajuster le pH à 1 ,7.
On prépare une solution B de chlorure d'aluminium en introduisant, sous agitation, 7,25 g d'AICI3, 6H20 dans 20 g d'eau. On ajoute ensuite, sous agitation, la solution A à la solution B, les deux solutions se trouvant à température ambiante.
Le rapport molaire (Al3 + ) / (Soprophor 4D384) est égal à 2. La quantité de Soprophor 4D384 mise en œuvre est de 0,1 5 mole par kg de mélange réactionnel ; la quantité d'aluminium mise en œuvre est de 0,3 mole par kg de mélange réactionnel.
La solution obtenue (dénommée S1 ) présente un pH de 1 ,3.
EXEMPLE 2
On prépare une solution aqueuse A de Soprophor 4D384 en introduisant, sous agitation, 1 7,7 g de Soprophor 4D384, dans 56 g d'eau de pH égal à 2,1 .
On prépare une solution B de chlorure d'aluminium en introduisant, sous agitation, 7,25 g d'AICI3, 6H20 dans 20 g d'eau.
On ajoute ensuite, sous agitation, la solution A à la solution B, les deux solutions se trouvant à température ambiante.
Le rapport molaire (Al3 + ) / (Soprophor 4D384) est égal à 2. La quantité de Soprophor 4D384 mise en œuvre est de 0, 1 5 mole par kg de mélange réactionnel ; la quantité d'aluminium mise en œuvre est de 0,3 mole par kg de mélange réactionnel. La solution obtenue (dénommée S2) présente un pH de 1 ,5.
EXEMPLE 3
On prépare une solution aqueuse A de Soprophor 4D384 en introduisant, sous agitation, 88,5 g de Soprophor 4D384 dans 280 g d'eau.
On prépare une solution B de chlorure d'aluminium en introduisant, sous agitation, 36,25 g d'AICI3, 6H20 dans 100 g d'eau.
On ajoute ensuite, sous agitation, la solution A à la solution B, les deux solutions se trouvant à température ambiante.
Le rapport molaire (Al3 + ) / (Soprophor 4D384) est égal à 2.
La quantité de Soprophor 4D384 mise en œuvre est de 0, 1 5 mole par kg de mélange réactionnel ; la quantité d'aluminium mise en œuvre est de 0,3 mole par kg de mélange réactionnel.
La solution obtenue (dénommée S3) présente un pH de 1 ,5.
EXEMPLE 4
On fait subir aux solutions S1 , S2, S3, ainsi qu'à de l'Aquarhône 18 (polychlorure d'aluminium commercialisé par Rhodia, contenant 4,56 mol d'aluminium / kg), un test de clarification d'une eau usée synthétique.
a- Synthèse de l'eau usée :
On mélange dans un récipient de 1 litre :
- eau déminéralisée 0,5 I
- bentonite (argile) 3,2 g ± 0,1 g - sucre 2,4 g ± 0, 1 g
- acide humique (Na) 0,2 g ± 0, 1 g
- CaCI2 5,1 g ± 0,1 g
- NH4CI 4,0 g ± 0, 1 g - K2HPO4 2,0 g ± 0,1 g - NaHC03 8,0 g ± 0,1 g
- Na2S, 9H20 308mg ± 5 mg
On homogénéise ensuite le mélange au moyen d'ultra-sons pendant 1 5 minutes.
On complète le volume de suspension à 1 litre avec de l'eau déminéralisée. On transvase la suspension dans un bac en polyéthylène de 30 litres.
On ajoute 4 litres d'eau déminéralisée à l'aide d'un récipient de 1 litre, puis 3 bidons contenant chacun 5 litres d'eau déminéralisée.
Du lait en poudre (7,7 g ± 0,1 g) riche en calcium est ensuite ajouté à la suspension. Enfin, on agite cette dernière pendant 1 ,5 à 2 heures au moyen d'un agitateur mécanique (300 tours/min) muni d'une pale à deux branches escamotables.
b- Test de clarification
On utilise un floculateur KEMIRA 208, dont on règle la température du bain thermostaté à 1 7 °C.
On règle les temps d'agitation suivant l'enchaînement d'opérations programmées dans 6 pots différents :

Pour déterminer la dose de produit S1 conduisant aux performances optimales dudit produit en épuration, on introduit dans les 6 pots 1000 ml d'eau usée synthétique, auxquels a été ajouté le produit S1 à 6 doses différentes.. On pose les 6 agitateurs sur les pots.
On démarre en cascade toutes les 2 minutes environ chaque opération programmée. On retire chaque agitateur dès le début de la sédimentation dans le pot correspondant.
On aspire en fin de sédimentation, à l'aide d'un tuyau en polyéthγlène siiiconé rempli d'eau, 100 ml d'eau clarifiée afin de rincer ledit tuyau.
En maintenant l'une des extrémités du tuyau dans la solution surnageante, on prélève ensuite un échantillon de 250 ml d'eau clarifiée.
Le test est mené de façon analogue pour déterminer les performances optimales des produits S2, S3 et Aquarhône 18 en épuration.
On donne dans le tableau ci-dessous :
- la dose optimale de S1 , de S2, de S3 ou d'Aquarhône 18 (exprimée en Al203) pour obtenir la turbidité (24 heures) de la solution surnageante la plus faible,
- ladite turbidité,
- le volume de sédiment formé.
Il est en outre à remarquer que, dans le cas de l'Aquarhône 18, le minimum de volume de sédiment est obtenu (25 ml) pour une dose d'Aquarhône 1 8 de 1 1 6 mg/l, la turbidité (24 heures) de la solution surnageante étant alors de 37 NTU.
La performance d'épuration est bonne lorsque la turbidité est abaissée tout en créant un volume de boue minimum.
Les observations suivantes peuvent être faites :
- pour obtenir une turbidité basse avec l'Aquarhône 18, on peut n'en mettre qu'une quantité peu élevée (47 mg dΑI203 par litre), mais on obtient alors une boue volumineuse qui décante mal (61 ml) ;
- pour obtenir, avec l'Aquarhône 18, une qualité de boue au niveau de celle atteinte avec les produits S1 , S2 et S3, il faut utiliser 2,5 à 23 fois plus d'Aquarhône
18 que de produits S1 , S2 et S3 (en dose exprimée en mg dΑI203 par litre).
Claims
REVENDICATIONS
1- Composition susceptible d'être obtenue par mélange d'au moins une solution A d'au moins un tensio-actif anionique avec au moins une solution B d'au moins un cation minéral de charge supérieure ou égale à 2, dans une proportion supérieure à la stœchiométrie.
2- Composition selon la revendication 1 , caractérisée en ce que la partie polaire ionique dudit tensio-actif anionique est un phosphate, un phosphonate, un carboxylate, un sulfonate, un sulfate ou un succinate de métal alcalin ou alcalino-terreux.
3- Composition selon l'une des revendications 1 et 2, caractérisée en ce que ledit tensio-actif anionique est choisi parmi les alkylphosphates, les alkylarylphosphates, les étherphosphates, les alkylsulfonates, les alkylbenzènesulfonates, les alkylsulfates, les alkylarylsulfates, les alkyléthersulfates, les alkylaryléthersulfates ou les dialkylsulfosuccinates de métal alcalin, éventuellement polyalcoxylés.
4- Composition selon l'une des revendications 1 à 3, caractérisée en ce que ledit cation minéral de charge supérieure ou égale à 2 est choisi parmi Mg +, Al +, Fe +, La +, Zr +.
5- Composition selon l'une des revendications 1 à 4, caractérisée en ce que ledit cation minéral se trouve dans la solution B sous forme d'un sel soluble, de préférence choisi parmi les chlorures, les nitrates, les acétates.
6- Composition selon l'une des revendications 1 à 5, caractérisée en ce que la solution B est une solution de chlorure d'aluminium.
7- Composition selon l'une des revendications 1 à 6, caractérisée en ce que la solution A de tensio-actif anionique et la solution B de cation minéral de charge supérieure ou égale à 2 sont mises en œuvre de telle manière que le rapport molaire (cation minéral de charge supérieure ou égale à 2) / (tensio-actif anionique) soit compris entre 1 et 20, en particulier entre 1 ,5 et 10.
8- Composition selon la revendication 7, caractérisée en ce que la quantité de tensio- actif anionique mise en œuvre est d'au plus 0,6 mole, en particulier d'au plus 0,4 mole, par kg de mélange réactionnel.
9- Composition selon l'une des revendications 7 et 8, caractérisée en ce que la quantité de cation minéral de charge supérieure ou égale à 2 mise en œuvre est comprise entre 0,2 et 0,9 mole, en particulier entre 0,25 et 0,8 mole, par kg de mélange réactionnel.
10- Composition selon l'une des revendications 1 à 9, caractérisée en ce que le pH de la solution A est inférieur au pH de polymérisation dudit cation minéral de charge supérieure ou égale à 2.
11- Composition selon l'une des revendications 1 à 10, caractérisée en ce que le pH de la solution B est inférieur au pH de polymérisation dudit cation minéral de charge supérieure ou égale à 2.
12- Composition selon l'une des revendications 1 à 11 , caractérisée en ce que la partie non-ionique dudit tensio-actif anionique présente une valeur HLB supérieure à 10.
13- Composition selon la revendication 12, caractérisée en ce que ledit tensio-actif anionique est un sulfate de tri(phényl-1 éthyl) phénol polyoxyéthyléné ayant de 10 à 40 motifs d'oxyde d'éthylène (O.E.) par mole de phénol.
14- Composition selon l'une des revendications 1 à 11, caractérisée en ce que la partie non-ionique dudit tensio-actif anionique présente une valeur HLB d'au plus 10, en particulier d'au plus 8.
15- Composition selon la revendication 14, caractérisée en ce que ledit tensio-actif anionique est un dodécyl sulfate de métal alcalin, de préférence de sodium.
16- Composition selon l'une des revendications 1 à 15, caractérisée en ce qu'elle consiste en une solution, de préférence homogène.
17- Application d'une composition selon l'une des revendications 1 à 16 dans les milieux aqueux, notamment pour le traitement des milieux aqueux.
18- Application d'une composition selon l'une des revendications 1 à 16 pour la clarification des eaux résiduaires.
19- Application d'une composition selon l'une des revendications 1 à 16 pour la détoxification d'effluents chargés en espèces polluantes anioniques.
20- Application d'une composition selon l'une des revendications 1 à 16 pour la décantation des vases portuaires ou lagunaires.
21- Application d'une composition selon l'une des revendications 1 à 16 dans le traitement ou la fabrication du papier, en particulier pour le désencrage du papier.
22- Application d'une composition selon l'une des revendications 1 à 16 comme aide à la filtration de suspension d'oxyde minéral.
23- Application d'une composition selon l'une des revendications 1 à 16 pour le traitement des minerais.
24- Application d'une composition selon l'une des revendications 1 à 16 dans le domaine du pétrole, dans les produits d'entretien, d'hygiène ou de cosmétique, comme agent adoucissant pour les textiles, dans le domaine du traitement de surfaces comme agent de nettoyage de bacs et de citernes.
