Abstract

A disposable self-opener apparatus for opening a tubular bag cartridge and squeezing a pasty composition therefrom includes a conical tube shoulder having an orifice, with the conical tube shoulder, preferably, made by a plastic injection molding procedure. A self-opener device is able to be screwed with the screw cap for joining the self-opener device with said one end of a tube portion of the conical tube shoulder. The self-opener device has gable-shaped pairs of cutting edges on an inner side thereof with the peaks of the gable-shaped pairs of cutting edges pointing in the direction of screwing. A retainer basket for receiving a metal clip of a tubular bag cartridge to be opened is centrally located on the inner side of the self-opener device, so that the metal clip does not enter a nozzle attached to the orifice of the conical tube shoulder for dispensing the pasty composition, thereby preventing the metal clip from obstructing the flow of the pasty composition through the nozzle.

Description

This invention relates to a disposable self-opener, initially to one Open the tubular bag cartridge, and then the pasty inside Push the mass out of the cartridge. Such pasty masses used to seal or glue joints and must be used for this Purpose to be pressed through a nozzle to the application site. The pasty Bulk, whether sealant or adhesive, is used for small quantities in disposable plastic cartridges packed, which are designed as cylinders, being on the front The nozzle sits at the end. A piston can then be pushed into the cylinder from behind so that the mass is pressed out through the nozzle. With larger ones Packaging units are not suitable for single-use plastic cartridges, because otherwise too much waste would arise. In addition, plastic is for many of these pasty products not suitable as packaging material because the products have a limited shelf life in plastic. An aluminum foil, however, or even just a foil that has been vapor-coated or coated with aluminum, forms a reliable oxygen, light and moisture barrier and ensures a practically unlimited shelf life for the products to be packaged and thus storability. This is why many are usually used pasty products, for example adhesive for gluing in car windows or for sealants, such as those used in large construction Quantities are processed, packaged in such foil material into so-called sausages Tubular bag cartridges. Just like sausages, the two Ends closed with metal clips. Such packaged like sausages pasty masses come in "sausage sizes" from about 10mm to 100mm in diameter and offered up to about 50cm in length. To apply the content such a sausage placed in a dispenser device, which essentially one Hollow cylinder forms, on the front of a nozzle with an upstream Self-opener can be screwed on, and a piston is inserted from the rear with which the film material of the rear end of the sausage is then directly is pressurized. The nozzle is a disposable part on a so-called Screwed self-opener, which in turn is inserted into a union nut and is then screwed onto the cylinder end of the dispenser. Before you can squeeze out pasty mass, the sausage-like tubular bag cartridge, after it has been inserted into the dispenser device. This happens when the self-opener is screwed on, which is also a disposable plastic injection-molded part is executed. The self-opener is on the inside with Provide cutting edges so that the film on the front of the packaging, is cut open at the end of the sausage when screwing on the self-opener. The pasty mass then swells under the pressure applied by the piston created slots and pushes the film material aside. After the pasty Mass is used up, the film packaging from the dispenser removed and disposed of together with the self-opener and the nozzle.

With the previous self-openers for cutting open and putting on the Nozzle has proven to be a disadvantage that the metal clip of the sausage-like Tubular bag cartridge and film material attached to it under the influence the flowing paste mass can tear off and finally in the nozzle opening ends up where it partially clogs the cross section of the nozzle. The With such a partially blocked passage, mass only occurs as thin worm, for example a quarter of the normal diameter, and because this requires a particularly large piston pressure, and the pressure in the front part of the pasty mass is stored to a certain extent, the Exit of the mass can no longer be finely controlled. Take the piston pressure away, a paste worm will still emerge from the nozzle for a certain time. In other words, the discharge of paste can hardly be stopped quickly. In the worst case, the torn metal clip even clogs the nozzle, so that the remaining contents of the tubular bag cartridge are no longer expressed can become and get lost. From GB 1 118 355 (DOW CHEMICAL COMPANY) dated July 3, 1968 is a self-opening device with a tubular extension with a funnel-shaped mouth. This mouth is against the in the tube inserted into the cartridge. The tubular bag clip, that means the metal clip that closes the tubular bag comes in to lie the funnel of this mouth and is held back by it This self-opening device according to GB 1 118 355 is made of sheet metal and moreover no one-way self-opener. It is not practical for today's requirements. If a pasty mass is pressed out of a self-opener, then at the end the self-opener remains filled with a residual mass. It is not today more reasonable that a sheet metal self-opener is cleaned after each use. But if you didn't do the cleaning, it wouldn't be next time more usable because the remaining mass would have dried up and the Self-opener would be worthless. Today the self-openers are no longer expensive cleaned but it has to be a disposable self opener that is on the standardized dispenser can be screwed on. It just has to be burned be disposable and on top of that it should be very inexpensive because of such Hundreds of thousands of self-openers are used. None of the current However, the tubular bag clamp is able to use the available ice path self-opener made of plastic withhold.

It is therefore the object of the present invention, a one-way self-opener to create, which overcomes the disadvantages mentioned above and safe opening of sausage-like tubular bag cartridges from pasty Products, as well as their well-dosed and complete pressing out by means of a conventional dispenser device allowed.

This task is solved by a one-way self-opener for opening a tubular bag cartridge and squeezing out a pasty mass The same, consisting of a conical made by plastic injection Tube shoulder with a central, tubular mouth, the self-opening into a The associated union nut can be inserted and thus screwed onto a pipe end and peripherally arranged, giblet-shaped pairs of cut edges with tip in screw direction and concentric to Has axis of rotation of the disposable self-opening extending cutting edges, the is characterized in that on its inside in the center above its Mouth a retention basket sprayed in one piece with the self-opener Plastic for holding the metal clip of the sausage-like to be opened Hose hive cartridge is arranged on its outer edge of is held at least two supports, the retention basket and the Cut edges from one concentric to the axis of rotation of the self-opener running ring wall are enclosed on a flat, in the Rotation plane of the disposable self-opener lying shoulder surface stands in which the conical tube shoulder ends in the screwing direction.

In Figure 1, the disposable self-opener is first seen from the outside shown, seen from the side. The whole self-opener is one Disposable product made by plastic injection in one operation. in the it essentially forms a tube shoulder 1 with a mouth 2, the Self-opener can be inserted into a union nut, not shown here. This is concentric in the picture from right to left via the self-opener slipped. The self-opener has an all-round, level, in its Shoulder 3 extending on the plane of rotation, on which the slipped on Union nut. The union nut with the one inserted into it Self-opening is then with its internal thread on the end of a tube External thread screwed on. The usual dispenser devices also show regularly a hollow cylinder or a tube open on both sides, into which the pasty mass is pushed in together with the tubular bag cartridge can be. The self-opener shown here is used as Disposable product with the left side in the picture on such a pipe end screwed. When screwing on, the special Cutting edges arranged on the inside of the self-opener form the foil-like Cut open tubular bag cartridge. One closes to the level shoulder 3 Ring wall 5, the function of which will become clear later. On the right in the picture The tube shoulder 1 formed by the self-opening tapers conically onto one Mouth 2, which has an external thread 4, and on which one for suitable nozzle can be screwed on for each specific application.

In Figure 2 you can see the self-opener in a perspective view with a view obliquely into its interior. Outside you can see the flat shoulder 3 from the back seen here. This is followed by an annular wall 5. Are located within the ring wall 5 there are four pairs of cutting edges 6, each with two cutting edges 7, 8, which each form a gable, with the gable tip in Direction of screwing is directed and the cutting edges along a secant within the annular wall 5 run, although they could of course also be curved. The two cutting edges 7, 8 also run with an inclination relative to the plane of rotation of the self-opener. The cutting edge pairs 6 are reinforced by means of each a retaining web 9, which is integrally connected to the inside of the cone 1 is. This arrangement of the cutting edges 7, 8 ensures that these when screwing the self-opener onto the end of the dispenser, the one in it Pierce the sausage-like cartridge at its end and cut open. The Self-opener itself does not need to turn for this, it is sufficient that by screwing the union nut on in the axial direction Sausage end is pressed. Because the cutting edge pairs each form a gable, slits will certainly be cut into the film material of the packaging. According to the invention, the self-opener in the center now points one against the Retaining basket 10 acting in the screwing direction, in the example shown rests on four supports 11, the feet of which are molded onto the inside of the cone 1 are. The retention basket 10 is used to hold the metal bracket with which the sausage-like tubular bag cartridge is closed at its end. The Retention basket 10 itself can be designed as a funnel made of solid material, or but as a lattice-like basket or simply as a bowl. It doesn't need to be tapered to be, but could just be designed trough-shaped, yes itself a can-shaped retention basket with a flat surface and a cantilever Rand could do the same thing. Instead of four supports 11 could this retention basket 10 of two or more radially to the ring wall 5th extending support elements. These can be found on the inside of the be conical tube shoulder 1, or self-supporting only with the inside the ring wall 5 and the retention basket 10 in the center wear. However, with vertically arranged supports 11 as in the drawing shown sufficiently large reaction forces are applied, and at the same time is when squeezing out the pasty mass, which is characterized by the self-opener moved, opposed little resistance. That when pressing against the Device pressed pasty material flows around the retention basket 10 namely laterally and thereafter passes between the supports 11 into the cone 1 and finally into the mouth 2.

In Figure 3, the device when placed on a dispenser in one Longitudinal section shown. On the left in the picture is the sausage-like packaging or Tubular bag cartridge 12 shown which the pasty to be pressed out Contains mass. At the right end, the film material of the packaging is like one Sausage held together by a metal clip 13. The dispenser closes a hollow cylinder 14 or a tube 14 made of metal or plastic. This Tube 14 has at its end an external thread 15 made of plastic, and this is laminated or welded onto the tube 14. The self opener is already inserted into the union nut 16 here. The union nut 16 lies with their flat cover surface 17 on the flat shoulder 3 of the self-opener. The clear width of the cover surface 17 of the union nut 16 is dimensioned so that that there is room for the self-opener. The union nut 16 can be on the outside have a non-slip coating 18 so that one does not slide off when screwing on and can therefore apply higher torques. Recognized by the self-opener one on its inside two pairs of cutting edges opposite each other 6 with their retaining webs 9, and the circumferential ring wall 5. In the The support basket 10 with its supports 11 can be seen in the middle of the self-opener. In the center of the retention basket 10, the latter has a one pointing in the axial direction Pin 21, which overhangs the basket by about its radius. This pen is not absolutely necessary, but it helps to securely hold the metal clip 13 in the retention basket 10 to keep by skewering them to a certain extent. The inside the supports 11 align here with the inside of the mouth 2. From the outside the mouth 2 plugged or screwed on you can see a nozzle 19, each shape and length is selected according to the type of pasty mass. To clip on or screwing, the nozzle 19 has a shoulder 20. From the figure in FIG position shown, the union nut 16 is screwed onto the pipe end and takes the self-opener with it. The cutting edges of the cutting edge pairs 6 cut the sausage-like packaging after hitting the film on.

Figure 4 shows the device with the union nut 16 finished on the Screwed pipe end 14 of a dispenser. In this screwed-on position the cut edges on the self-opener have already cut open the film and the Retention basket 10 has enclosed the metal clip 13 of the sausage-like packaging. The pasty mass oozes out of the slits and is pressure already applied via the piston of the dispenser Arrows drawn path. It is finally through the mouth 2 and push the nozzle 19 outwards. The ring wall 5 encloses at the same time the sausage end and ensures an efficient seal against it the inner wall of the tube 14, so that this never with leaking paste in Comes into contact and therefore always stays clean.
