    Claims (5)

    1. Protective switching device (1), designed for arranging in a row to form a surface-mounted appliance with additional functions, for example to form a residual current device or an undervoltage release, which has a driver (2) to produce a disconnecting coupling, having a latching point between a catch (3) and a release lever (4), characterised in that
      the driver (2) can rotate about the bearing,
      the driver (2) forms an eccentric,
      a spacing element (5) is provided,
      whereby the spacing element (5) can be arranged, such that spacing is produced, in a disconnected position of a surface-mounted appliance arranged in a row directly or indirectly with its single arm (17) between the catch (3) and the release lever (4),
      whereby the driver (2) engages with the other arm (18) of the spacing element (5) as an eccentric, as a result of which the first arm (17) is deflected to produce a spacing, thereby preventing latching.
    2. Protective switching device according to Claim 1, characterised in that, in the case of a switching mechanism, whose catch (3) guides a moving contact arm (9) indirectly or directly in a variable-position bearing (8), and whose release lever (4) is arranged in a fixed-position bearing (10), and supports the moving contact arm when a manual operating element (13) is in the open position, with a coupling rod (12) being connected to the catch (3) to form a manual operating element (13) which can pivot in a further variable-position bearing (14), and with the driver (2) guiding the movement of a separate spacing element (5).
    3. Protective switching device according to Claim 2, characterised in that the spacing element (5) is arranged on the catch (3) such that it can rotate about the bearing (14) for the coupling rod (12), said spacing element (5) resting against the release lever (4), and preventing latching when the driver (2) is in the disconnected position and when the protective switching device is in the disconnected position.
    4. Protective switching device according to Claim 3, characterised in that the driver (2) is arranged above the geometric positions of the coupling rod (12) and catch bearings (8; 14), when a contact piece (16) on the moving contact (9) is regarded as being located underneath with respect to this.
    5. Protective switching device according to one of the preceding claims, characterised in that at least one of the springs required in the switching mechanism is in the form of a leaf spring.
