Abstract

The invention concerns a keyboard, preferably for cashier registers. Known keyboards (20) have a plurality of keyboard housing (1) parts so that, when they are serviced, exchanging or refurbishing the keypad (5), also often the associated keyboard electronic circuitry (8) must be taken out of the keyboard housing (1) in order to replace defective, or integrate additional, auxiliary components (19) in the keyboard (20) or the keyboard housing (1). Contrary to this, in the solution disclosed herein, the keyboard housing (1) is built of one piece of material, with the keyboard housing being formed of an upper housing shell (2) and a joining S-shaped lower housing shell (3). In this regard, the keyboard housing (1) is preferably of resinous plastic. The keypad (5) and, for example, the keyboard electronic circuitry are contained in the upper housing shell (2), with the auxiliary components (19) being in the lower housing shell (3).

Ein Tastenfeld, vorzugsweise für Datenkassen, offenbart die DE 196 38 206 A1 .A keypad, preferably for cash registers, discloses the DE 196 38 206 A1 ,

All the aforementioned keyboards have a multi-part housing and do not correspond to existing in the field of data entry requirements, in addition to having a flexible structure and a high ease of service.

This results in the object of the invention to show a keyboard that is easy to assemble and service.

The problem is solved by the features of claim 1.

The invention is based on the idea to perform a keyboard housing in one piece, wherein the housing by a front housing shell and a, S-shaped the front housing shell subsequent rear housing shell is formed. For this purpose, the housing is preferably made of plastic. In the front housing shell a keypad and keyboard electronics, for example, held in the rear housing shell additional modules. The keypad is preferably mounted in a punctiform manner. For this purpose, the keypad rests on sleeves in the front housing shell, into which preferably two screws engage in order to position and fasten the keypad in the front housing shell.
The keyboard electronics, for example, below the keypad also held punctiform, with connectors of the keyboard electronics protrude into the rear housing shell.
About this connector, the electrical auxiliary modules, such as electronics of a magnetic card reader and / or a chip card reader, a joystick, are electrically connected to the keyboard electronics.
To cover the rear housing shell, this has a screw-on cover. On the back of the rear housing shell, that is, running upward, a slot-shaped guide of the magnetic card reader for pulling a magnetic card is integrated in the housing.
Preferably additionally or alternatively, a slot-like insertion opening for inserting a chip card in this area may be provided.

The advantage of this solution is that without changing the keypad or the keyboard electronics, the additional modules can be plugged in, attached and / or replaced. Likewise, a better conversion or retrofitting of other modules (components), guaranteed. Due to this design, the structure of the keyboard is extremely compact, modular and easy to service.
Another advantage lies in the punctiform preferably oblique mounting of the keypad and the key electronics. Incoming moisture is trapped in the front housing shell and can drain through slots made in the front housing shell without resting on the keypad or keyboard electronics.

Reference to an embodiment with drawing, the invention will be explained in more detail.

The keyboard housing 1 is formed from a one-piece body, which includes a front housing shell 2 and the S-shaped one, not visible in this illustration rear housing shell 3 is connected. The front housing shell 2 preferably has three sleeves 4, by a not shown here keypad 5, is mounted in a punctiform manner. About not shown screws, the keypad 5 is positioned on the sleeves 4 and fixed in the front housing shell 2. For a stable mechanical mounting of the keypad 5, the sleeves 4 are preferably followed by slopes 6, on which the keypad 5 rests obliquely.
Further sleeves 7 receive a mounted under the keypad 5 keyboard electronics 8. Again, there is a mechanical storage by the keyboard electronics 8 adapted slopes 9th
The lower side 2.1 of the front housing shell 2 is flat with respect to an imaginary bearing surface of the keyboard housing 1.
The front housing shell 2 is followed by the rear side 3.1 of the rear housing shell 3. In this centering preferably 3.2 is incorporated, which represents a recess from the perspective of the rear housing shell 3. The elevation 3.2 comprises a slot-shaped guide 10 of a magnetic card reader 11 and / or a vertical slot-shaped opening 12 of a chip card reader thirteenth
Function indicators 14 of the keyboard 20 are preferably mounted adjacent to the elevation 3.2.

The design of the rear housing shell 3 is shown in perspective in Figure 2. The rear housing shell 3 is preferably divided into three areas and has the center visible from below depression. In each area are additional electrical assemblies 19, for example, for the magnetic card reader or the chip card reader, mechanical fastened, wherein the electrical connection via connectors 15 which protrude from the front housing shell 2 in the rear housing shell 3. The housing shell 3 is closed by means of a cover 16, as shown in Figure 3.
