Claims (11)

  1. Apparatus (1) for dispensing strips of adhesive tape (45) or the like with a take-up device (29) taking up an adhesive tape roll (30), with at least one transporting roll (22; 23) provided with a circumferential groove (48; 51) and with a folding roll (47) provided with a circumferential bulge (52), a first toothed rack (14) connected with a lever (8), which drives at least one transporting roll (22; 23), a cutting means (33), which can be activated by a second toothed rack (14') via a first gear wheel (38),
    characterised in that
    the two toothed racks (14, 14') are provided on both sides of the lever (8), that at least one of the toothed racks (14, 14') is guided in a lower sliding guide plate (20) provided in the lower part of the housing (2) and in an upper sliding guide plate (13) on the lever (8) in such a manner that during the downward motion of the lever (8) the toothed rack (14, 14') indirectly engages the transporting roll (22; 23) and the first gear (38) and said rack is disengaged for the upward motion.
  2. Apparatus according to claim 1, characterised in that the transporting roll (22, 23) is connected with a gear wheel (27; 28) on the same axle, which is engageable with the toothed rack (14).
  3. Apparatus according to claim 1 or 2, characterised in that the first gear wheel (38) is rotatably supported resting against a tensioning spring (42).
  4. Apparatus according to one of claims 1 through 3, characterised in that a second transporting roll (22) is provided, which can be driven by the first toothed rack (14).
  5. Apparatus according to claim 4, characterised in that the second transporting roll (22) is provided with a circumferential groove (51), and that the two transporting rolls mesh together in a slightly overlapping manner.
  6. Apparatus according to claim 5, characterised in that the two transporting rolls (22; 23) are knurled in axial direction.
  7. Apparatus according to one of claims 1 through 5, characterised in that the cutting means comprises a lever arm (32) controlled by the first gear wheel (38) and a knife (33) arranged on the lever arm.
  8. Apparatus according to claim 7, characterised in that the lever arm (32) is rotatably supported in the housing at its end opposite the knife (33), and is provided with a sliding guide plate (36), which can be moved by a cam (37) on the first gear wheel (38) towards the transporting roll (22; 23).
  9. Apparatus according to claim 7 or 8, characterised in that the knife (33) is of triangular shape.
  10. Apparatus according to one of claims 1 through 9, characterised in that the lever (8) is provided with a cam (11) for transporting the severed strip of adhesive tape.
  11. Apparatus according to one of claims 1 through 10, characterised in that the roll (30) of adhesive tape with its take-up device (29), the transporting roll (22; 23) and the folding roll (47) are mounted on a common support member or insert (24), which can be inserted into the housing (2).
