Abstract

L'invention concerne un bouchon capteur conçu pour détecter une pluralité de conditions de fonctionnement d'une boîte de transmission. Ledit bouchon comprend un corps qui définit un axe. Une extrémité de sonde, formée à une extrémité du corps, est particulièrement conçue pour se fixer à un bouchon de vidange d'huile de la boîte de transmission. Plusieurs capteurs, placés à l'intérieur du corps, sont destinés à détecter des conditions de fonctionnement de la boîte de transmission à travers l'extrémité de la sonde. Des exemples de capteurs placés à l'intérieur du corps sont notamment un capteur de vibrations, un capteur de température et un capteur de pression. L'invention concerne en outre un procédé et un appareil permettant de déterminer une quantité d'huile dans le réservoir d'huile d'un dispositif tel qu'une boîte de transmission. Le procédé et l'appareil consistent notamment à détecter, à l'aide d'un capteur de pression, la pression d'huile statique dans le réservoir. On peut ensuite convertir ladite pression en niveau d'huile et déterminer si ledit niveau est adéquat. On peut également, à l'aide du procédé et de l'appareil, détecter si l'élément reniflard est obstrué, ce qui indique un état de fuite d'huile potentielle. On peut avantageusement installer le capteur à l'intérieur du bouchon de vidange d'huile de la boîte de transmission. La modernisation de boîtes de transmission existantes ou la fabrication de nouvelles boîtes de transmission peut donc être aisément réalisée.
