Abstract

Das Verfahren betrifft die Abgasreinigung bei einem Verbrennungsmotor mit mindestens zwei parallel stromabwärts einer Abzweigung (7) eines Abgasstranges (2) angeordneten durch ein im Abgas enthaltenes Reduktionsmittel regenerierbaren NOX-Speicherkatalysatoren (3,4), denen zur individuellen Messung von Zustandsparametern jeweils stromabwärts ein Sensor (11,12), beispielsweise ein NOX-Sensor oder eine Lambdasonde, zugeordnet ist. Das Abgas wird zumindest einem stromabwärts der NOX-Speicherkatalysatoren im Abgasstrang angeordneten Katalysator (9), vorzugsweise einem 3-Wege-Katalysator zugeführt. In Abhängigkeit von den Zustandsparameter-Werten der NOX-Speicherkatalysatoren werden NOX-Regenerationsmaßnahmen durchgeführt. Erfindungsgemäß wird eine gerade durchgeführte NOX-Regenerationsmaßnahme in Abhängigkeit von dem spätesten Zeitpunkt beendet, an dem ein für die Beendigung einer NOX-Regenerationsmaßnahme charakteristischer Zustandsparameter-Wert an einem der NOX-Speicherkatalysatoren gemessen wird. Die erfindungsgemäße Vorrichtung zur Abgasreinigung für einen Verbrennungsmotor weist stromabwärts der NOX-Speicherkatalysatoren Sensoren zur individuellen Erfassung von Zustandsparameter-Werten der NOX-Speicherkatalysatoren auf, die einem Motorsteuergerät zur Auswertung und Beeinflussung von Betriebsparametern des Verbrennungsmotor zuführbar sind. Das Motorsteuergerät weist eine Kontrolleinrichtung (6) auf, um in Abhängigkeit von dem spätesten Zeitpunkt an dem ein für eine Beendigung einer NOX-Regenerationsmaßnahme charakteristischer Zustandsparameter-Wert an einem der NOX-Speicherkatalysatoren gemessen wird, eine gerade durchgeführte NOX-Regenerationsmaßnahme zu beenden.
