Abstract

Process for purifying IC engine exhaust gases comprises terminating a NOx regeneration depending on one of the NOx storage catalysts (3, 4); and measuring a condition parameter value characteristic for the termination of the NOx regeneration. An Independent claim is also included for an apparatus for purifying IC engine exhaust gases comprising an engine control unit (5) having a controller (6) for terminating the NOx regeneration. Preferred Features: The exhaust gas branches are brought together at a connecting point downstream of the NOx storage catalysts and upstream of a connected oxidation catalyst.
