Abstract

Eine Druckregelventilanordnung (28) für das Kühlsystem einer flüssigkeitsgekühlten Brennkraftmaschine ist im Einfülldeckel (25) eines Ausgleichsbehälters eingebaut. Ein hutförmiges Verschlussglied (37) bedeckt eine von einem Innenflansch (34) umgebene mittlere Öffnung (36) und steht durch eine vorbelastete Druckfeder (41) unter Federvorspannung. Radial einwärts einer ringförmigen Grenzfläche zwischen dem Flansch (34) und dem Verschlussglied (37) befindet sich eine mit dem Verschlussglied (37) derart verklebte elastische Dichtung (42), dass sie zwischen dem Verschlussglied und dem Flansch (34) abdichtet. In diesem Zustand wird die Dichtung (42) zusammengedrückt und reagiert so gegen den Flansch (34) mit einer elastischen Reaktionslast, die wesentlich geringer ist als die Vorbelastung von der Feder (41). Im Gebrauch wird durch einen Druckanstieg im Kühlsystem auf das Verschlussglied (37) eine Last ausgeübt, die der Vorbelastung der Feder (41) entgegenwirkt, so dass sich der Außenrandteil (39) bei einem vorbestimmten Druck von seiner Stoßstelle mit dem Flansch (34) abhebt und Luft oder Dampf aus der Öffnung (36) entweichen kann. Die reduzierte Reaktionslast der Dichtung gegen die Oberseite (35) verringert die Neigung der Dichtung (42), auf der Flanschoberseite (35) haftenzubleiben.

A pressure control valve arrangement (28) for the cooling system of a liquid-cooled internal combustion engine is installed in the filler cap (25) of an expansion tank. A hat-shaped closure member (37) covers a central opening (36) surrounded by an inner flange (34) and is spring-biased by a preloaded compression spring (41). Radially inward of an annular interface between the flange (34) and the closure member (37) there is an elastic seal (42) glued to the closure member (37) such that it seals between the closure member and the flange (34). In this state, the seal (42) is compressed and thus reacts against the flange (34) with an elastic reaction load that is significantly less than the preload from the spring (41). In use, an increase in pressure in the cooling system exerts a load on the closure member (37) which counteracts the preloading of the spring (41), so that the outer edge part (39) lifts off its abutment with the flange (34) at a predetermined pressure and air or steam can escape from the opening (36). The reduced reaction load of the seal against the top (35) reduces the tendency of the seal (42) to stick to the flange top (35).
