- Present invention relates to a rotating actuator of an electric circuit breaker, of the molded case kind, allowing to actuate auxiliary contacts of the electric circuit breaker to feed an undervoltage tripping unit thereof before the beginning of the closure operation of the breaker in order to prevent an unwanted tripping of the circuit breaker due to lack of voltage on the same undervoltage tripping unit.

- the doors of the electric board are provided with rotating knobs connected to some mechanism able to transform the rotating movement of the knob into alternate linear movement suited to a control lever of the circuit breaker and the opening possibility of the door has been conditioned to a position of the rotating knob corresponding to the position of the control lever for opening the main contacts of the circuit breaker.

- the circuit breaker has to open the main contacts when the voltage of the electric system falls under a pre-set safety value or automatically open when is either removed some protection or actuated an emergency control.
- the circuit breaker is provided with a so-called "undervoltage tripping unit" producing the opening of the main contacts when the supply voltage falls under the pre-set safety value, or when a safety contact is actuated.
- a particularly simple approach would be to keep the undervoltage tripping unit always connected to the main supply network, in order to allow the closure of the main contacts of the circuit breaker any time the network voltage is high enough.
- Such an approach while particularly simple, suffers the drawback to have to always maintain the voltage on the undervoltage tripping unit and the circuit of the safety contacts, even when it is to open the door of the control board housing the circuit breaker.
- Such a drawback comes up against the safety requirement of having all the components of the control board housing the circuit breaker without power supply when it is provided to rotate the knob of the circuit breaker to the opening position and thus it would be better to have the undervoltage tripping unit and the safety circuits without power supply when it is intended to open the door of the control board.
- an auxiliary contact unit whose contacts are open when the main contacts of the circuit breaker are open, but before the beginning of the closure operation of the main contacts by a rotating knob controlling them, are closed in advance with respect to the control lever of the main contacts, allowing to supply power to the undervoltage tripping unit in order to avoid an unwanted operation of the tripping unit before the compete feeding thereof.
- the undervoltage tripping unit will provide to prevent the closure of the main contacts till the return of the proper mains voltage.
- a cam shaped disk arranged on a shaft of the rotating control knob of the circuit breaker, provided with a slot which in the opening position of the circuit breaker houses an end of a lever having a fulcrum fastened to a frame of the circuit breaker and the other end engaged in a slot of a slider actuating the contacts of a unit of auxiliary contacts so that the auxiliary contacts of the unit are closed as soon as a rotating movement of the knob, from the position of open main contacts to closed main contacts, is begun so that the undervoltage tripping unit is fed before the control lever of the main contacts begins the closure operation.
- an actuator 10 according to the present invention comprises a central shaft 12, connected to a rotating knob (not shown) inserted into a cam shaped disk 14 comprising a re-entering slot 16 followed by a protruding hook cam 18.

- the lever 26, moved by the connecting arm 22 displaces its pin 30 from a first side to the opposed one of the square window 32 and then the control lever 40 of the main contacts of the circuit breaker is not moved before the end of the run of the pin 30 into the window 32.
