Definitions
- the invention relates to a crimp contact of a flexible foil conductor with at least a conductor track defined on an insulating carrier layer, wherein the area to be contacted of the conductor track defined on the film in one compressed crimp part is arranged, which in the uncompressed state at least two directly opposite one another, U-shaped from one leg protruding cheeks.
- Foil conductor with electrical fixed on an insulating support layer Conductor tracks are known.
- the advantages of this foil conductor are in particular in their low height and low weight.
- a crimp contact is generally a contact Understood arrangement in which the contact between those to be contacted Divide by pressing or squeezing a deformable Part ("crimp part") is produced.
- one made of stranded wires electrical conductor is the electrical conductor to be contacted in one in the Usually inserted U-shaped sheet metal part and the cheeks of the U-shaped sheet metal part are then compressed, causing the inserted electrical Head is clamped and also deformed.
- This enables electrical conductors to make simple, quick and reliable connections getting produced.
- a common quality feature of such a connection is their gas tightness, which is due to the deformation work performed the surfaces of the parts to be connected.
- Crimp contacts for foil conductors are also known, for example from CH-PS 585 975 or US-PS 5,137,468.
- the from CH-PS 585 975 and the US-PS 5,137,468 known crimp contacts of flexible film conductors are in the In contrast to the conventional crimp contacts of stranded conductors, it is not very reliable.
- With the crimp contact of CH-PS 585 975 the tips of the crimping part through the conductor tracks defined on the film and then bent, pushing them again through the conductor track.
- the contact areas are essentially only through the penetration points the tips are formed by the conductor track.
- An electrical connector for connecting a foil to a wire conductor is further known from DE-OS 1 957 183.
- the connector has two through one Fold line separate flank parts.
- a tongue is from one side of the flank punched out and bent up in a U-shape.
- the wire conductor is in this U-shaped tongue inserted.
- the foil conductor is between the tongue and the other flank part inserted and subsequently the connector for making the contact pressed together.
- the wire conductor and the foil conductor lie here compressed Condition of the connector not against each other and a gas-tight Such a connector cannot form contact with the film conductor become.
- From US-PS 3,715,457 is also a two-part connector for a ribbon cable known.
- the conductors are relatively loose between two Layers made of an insulating material.
- the connector has a lance-like Part on that from the front end of the ribbon cable between the top insulating top layer and the conductor is inserted so that it is lance-like Part lies flat on the conductor.
- the cheeks of a U-shaped Crimp parts are from the back of the ribbon cable through the insulating Lay through next to the conductor, so that the conductor and the lance-like Part of the connector as well as the insulating layers between these cheeks come to rest. As a result, the cheeks are pressed inwards, with their tips piercing the upper insulating layer and on the lance-like Part are pressed. This does not create a gas-tight connection reached.
- the object of the invention is to provide a crimp contact of a flexible foil conductor, that is easy to manufacture and reliable, that in its manufacture allows sufficient tolerances and is gastight.
- Successful according to the invention this in that the foil conductor in the area of the conductor track to be contacted is electrically conductive on its surface facing away from the carrier layer and that in the compressed crimp part also a deformable and when pressed together of the crimped deformed pressure part is arranged on the foil conductor abuts, the crimp contact being gas-tight.
- the crimp contact is thus made by next to the contact or contacts A deformable pressure part is also inserted into the crimp part and then the crimp part is pressed. Through the deformation work done a safe, gas-tight seal is created on the surfaces of the parts to be connected Contact of the film with considerable manufacturing tolerances positioning of the foil in the crimp part. Due to the gas tightness of the Crimp contacts do not get liquids or harmful gases (such as sulfur gases) in contact, which would otherwise lead to corrosion and thus to impairment of contact.
- EP 1 035 616 A1 which is also a crimp contact of a flexible Foil conductor shows.
- the protruding from a connecting web or leg Cheeks of the crimping part are not directly opposite each other here, however are arranged offset to each other (seen in the longitudinal direction of the film conductor). This means that the crimp contact is not gas-tight.
- the electrical contacting mediated by the crimp contact according to the invention of the foil conductor can affect different parts: On the one hand, an electrical Contact between the conductor track and the deformable pressure part made which in this case is a section of an electrical conductor, preferably a stranded wire or waveguide.
- the crimping part can be a be an independent part of the parts to be contacted, which is also electrical can be insulating.
- the electrical contact between the Conductor and the crimp part may be formed, in which case the deformable Pressure part can be a part independent of the parts to be contacted and can consist of an electrically insulating material.
- Another alternative is that a contact between two arranged in the crimp part, with Your conductor tracks are directed against each other foil conductors.
- both the crimp part and the Pressure part independent of the electrical contact and also from one electrically insulating material exist.
- Multiple pairs of can also be used contacting foil conductors in the crimp part.
- the mentioned contact options can also be combined with each other. For example could the conductor track of a foil conductor with the free end of a Stranded wire formed deformable pressure part and with a crimp part be contacted, which on a connector pin of a connector part of an electrical Plug connection is formed.
- FIG. 1 and 2 of a crimp contact are two conductor tracks 3 which a film conductor 1 (only a part of this is shown in Fig. 1) are contacted with electrical conductors in the form of stranded wires 13.
- the film leader 1 has a film or carrier layer 2 on which the conductor tracks 3 are printed or galvanically applied, for example.
- Such foil conductor are known as FLC (flexible layer circuit) or FPCB (flexible printed circuit board).
- FLC flexible layer circuit
- FPCB flexible printed circuit board
- recesses 10, 11 are provided in the film conductor between each of which has the carrier layer 2 with the conductor track arranged thereon 3 runs like a bridge.
- the film conductor 1 can with the recesses 10, 11 on the Cheeks 8 of the crimp parts 7 are slipped so that the web-like areas of the Foil conductor 1 extend over the base plates 6 of the crimp parts 7.
- bracket 14 is provided on the locking lugs 15 are, which can be locked in recesses 16 in the base plate 6.
- rib-like elevations 17 against which locked the outer insulation of the stranded wires 13 to the base plate 6 State of the bracket 14 are pressed.
- Fig. 2 is a schematic cross section through one of the contact points.
- the electrical conductor tracks 3 have at least in the area in which they lie in the crimping part 7, on their surface facing away from the carrier layer 2 no electrical insulation. In other areas of the film conductor 1 the conductor tracks 3 preferably with an insulating, not shown in FIG. 1 Cover layer covered.
- a common thickness for the carrier layer is, for example 75 microns and the conductor track can be, for example, 35 microns be thick and made of copper, being in the area in which the conductor track is not covered on its surface by an insulating cover layer Surface of the conductor track is provided with a conductive oxidation protection.
- the contact area can be crimped by dipping, overmolding or other processes are sealed.
- the base plate 6 and the bracket 14 serve for prepositioning the parts of the crimp contact (conductor track 3 of the foil conductor, Crimp part 7, pressure part 12).
- this is a simple, serial production of a crimp contact according to the invention is possible Crimp contact basically without these parts 6, 14 or under Use other prepositioning measures.
- a closed one surrounding the crimp contact could also be used Housing should be provided which 7 openings above the crimp parts for performing a crimping tool.
- the crimp contact 7 ' is formed in one piece with a plug pin 18.
- a multiple plug a connector can be provided.
- the illustrated film conductor 1 ' has one or more conductor tracks 3 on, which in turn are arranged on an insulating carrier layer 2.
- this carrier layer 2 recessed between the individual conductor tracks 3. The free ends the conductor tracks 3 can thus be inserted into the crimp parts 7 '(only one is shown in Fig.
- the printing part 12 ' is here to mediate the electrical contact between the conductor track 3 and the crimp part 7 'is electrically conductive. Basically, this could Printing part 12 'can also be designed to be insulating if the film conductor 1' with the free end of the conductor track 3 to be contacted so inserted into the crimping part 7 ' is that the conductor track 3 - seen in Fig. 3 - points downwards and immediately abuts the leg 9 'of the crimping part 7'. To the deformation of the pressure part 12 ' to enable this is hollow in the embodiment shown in FIG. 3 formed, wherein it has a central channel-shaped cavity 19.
- a Deformability of the pressure part 12 'could also be achieved in a different way become.
- the deformability of the pressure part could not be over its cross-sectional shape, but can be achieved via its material, which especially elastic when using an insulating pressure part could be trained.
- FIG. 4 A schematic cross section of a third embodiment of an inventive Crimp contact is shown in Fig. 4.
- both crimp part 7 “and pressure part 12” are designed to be electrically conductive, to make electrical contact between the two conductor tracks 3 of the foil conductor 1 or additionally with the crimp part 7 "and / or the pressure part 12".
- the pressure part 12 "and / or the crimping part 7" can be electrical be designed to be insulating if the two film conductors 1 with their conductor tracks 3 are arranged lying against each other in the crimp part 7 ". Also several pairs of interconnectable conductor tracks of foil conductors, each are arranged oppositely, in this case could be in a single Crimp part 7 "may be arranged.
- the crimping part can have different geometries, it being in each Case against the pressure part and the section in the foil conductor, which is inserted in the crimp part are compressible.
- 5 is a schematic cross section of a fourth Embodiment of the invention shown.
- Crimp part 7 "' are the deformable pressure part 12"' and the section to be contacted of the film conductor 1 inserted.
- the crimp part 7 "' is again in the sequence against the pressure part 12 "'and the section of the film conductor 1 to be contacted pressed.
- the deformable Printing part 12 "' can in turn have different geometries and from different materials.
