- transfer cylinders / transfer drums In order to prevent smearing of the sheets on the printed side, a variety of designs of such drum body are known.
- a drum body is constructed as a cylinder on the lateral surface of the sheet with the unprinted or printed side is in surface contact.
- drums known as transferters in presses of the R 700 and R 900 series of MAN Roland Druckmaschinen AG. These drum bodies are essentially constructed as a box, wherein the arc-facing outer sides of the box are either flat or concave and / or convex curved. These outer surfaces of the Transferter can be closed or designed permeable to air through openings.
- An embodiment of the transferter with a prismatic shape within the drum circumference and with arranged on the side surfaces communicating apertures is from the DE 44 31 114 A1 known.
- Such a drum body has at least two gripper bars, which are arranged distributed uniformly on the circumference of the transfer drum.
- the outer surfaces of these prismatically constructed sheet-guiding drum bodies are formed by planes, wherein the outer sides facing the transporting sheets can also be curved.
- drum bodies are additionally associated with blowing and / or suction acted sheet guiding devices, especially in the lower region, which additionally the risk of smearing the printed side of the sheet is minimized.

- the drum body sheet holding means in the form of gripper bars, wherein the gripper bars preferably carry according to the sheet material thickness height adjustable gripper bars.
- the drum body with approximately prismatic shape has two diametrically arranged on the circumference diametrical gripper bridges within the drum circumference and breakthroughs, so that upon rotation of the drum body, an air flow through the openings can be achieved.
- the sheet material fixed in the gripper closure is guided essentially by centrifugal forces. Through the breakthroughs overpressure and vacuum zones are avoidable. There are no wave phenomena on the bow, which adversely affect a quiet sheet run.
- the breakthroughs are dimensioned such that no turbulence caused by guide surfaces acts on the sheet material.
- a further advantage is that the breakthroughs to achieve an air flow result in a mass reduction of the drum body itself. It is also advantageous that the arrangement of the openings - with respect to a plane passing through the gripper jaw axis of symmetry - outside of this axis of symmetry are arranged mirror images offset. Thus, the imbalance is reducible and the focus of the drum body is arranged in the drum axis, so that a uniform bearing load can be realized.

- the mode of action is as follows: The drum body 1 is fed by a cylinder upstream a bow, the drum body 1 takes over with its gripper bar 10 the bow. The fixed in the gripper closure sheet is now performed by the drum body 1 in the sheet outlet and the sheet entrance and transferred to the sheet holding systems of the downstream printing cylinder. Due to the rotational movement of the drum body 1, the ambient air flows through the cassette-shaped recesses 7 and through the apertures 8 and past the gripper bars 10. Depending on the machine speed, the sheet is pressed against the sheet guiding devices 9 by centrifugal moments and guided up to the transfer area. The sheet guiding devices 9 are acted upon by suction and / or blowing air. The bow shows a smooth arch run, without undulations of the rear area. Thus, there is no air jam on the unprinted or printed side of the sheet.

Abstract
Description
The invention relates to a sheet-guiding drum body for a sheet-fed rotary printing press according to the preamble of claim 1.
In sheet-fed rotary printing machines, the sheets to be printed are transported between the printing units by means of sheet-guiding drum bodies, also called transfer drums or transfer cylinders / transfer drums. In order to prevent smearing of the sheets on the printed side, a variety of designs of such drum body are known. For example, such a drum body is constructed as a cylinder on the lateral surface of the sheet with the unprinted or printed side is in surface contact.
Further types of bow-shaped drum bodies are the drums known as transferters in presses of the R 700 and R 900 series of MAN Roland Druckmaschinen AG. These drum bodies are essentially constructed as a box, wherein the arc-facing outer sides of the box are either flat or concave and / or convex curved. These outer surfaces of the Transferter can be closed or designed permeable to air through openings.
These drum bodies are additionally associated with blowing and / or suction acted sheet guiding devices, especially in the lower region, which additionally the risk of smearing the printed side of the sheet is minimized.

Out
The guide surfaces can also be realized with a sheet guiding device for sheet guiding arranged outside the outer surface of the drum. Similarly, the guide surfaces on the drum, which may also be formed by baffles for guiding the sheet trailing edge upon transfer of the sheet to the subsequent impression cylinder. The disadvantage here is that through the baffles an air accumulation in the form of pressure and negative pressure zones is created, which can affect a quiet sheet run.

The invention has for its object to provide a sheet-guiding drum body of the type mentioned above, which avoids the disadvantages mentioned, which has a double-sized diameter, with high flexural rigidity allows a reduction in mass and avoids an air dam on the bow, generated by baffles.
The problem is solved by the training features of claim 1. Further developments will become apparent from the dependent claims.
A first advantage of the drum body according to the invention is based on the fact that sheet materials with different basis weights and different stiffnesses, such as paper, cardboard, foil, can be processed without smearing in the sheet-fed rotary printing press. For this purpose, the drum body sheet holding means in the form of gripper bars, wherein the gripper bars preferably carry according to the sheet material thickness height adjustable gripper bars.
The drum body with approximately prismatic shape has two diametrically arranged on the circumference diametrical gripper bridges within the drum circumference and breakthroughs, so that upon rotation of the drum body, an air flow through the openings can be achieved. The sheet material fixed in the gripper closure is guided essentially by centrifugal forces. Through the breakthroughs overpressure and vacuum zones are avoidable. There are no wave phenomena on the bow, which adversely affect a quiet sheet run. The breakthroughs are dimensioned such that no turbulence caused by guide surfaces acts on the sheet material.
A further advantage is that the breakthroughs to achieve an air flow result in a mass reduction of the drum body itself.
Due to the structure of the drum body, a reduction of the deflection can be achieved during rotation, which leads in particular to an improved passer-resistance.

A sheet-guiding drum body 1 is arranged downstream of a printing cylinder of the preceding printing unit in an offset rotary printing machine and the drum body 1 itself is followed by a printing cylinder of another printing unit. The
