Description
- This invention relates to a residue removing apparatus.
- EP-A-0 621 113 describes an apparatus for stripping paperboard which is considered to represent the closest prior art.
- Conventionally, as a method for removing unnecessary residue portion from a punched sheet leaving a product portion, a method in which a worker knocks off the residue portion with a wooden hammer, a plastic hammer, etc. to remove the residue portion. However, in this punch working by man power, the working itself is hard and working efficiency is low because much labor is required and high stress works on the arms and the waist of the worker.
- Therefore, a residue removing apparatus with which the removing work of the residue portion is conducted mechanically has been used. For example, in a residue removing apparatus of pin board type, an upper die on which many pin holes are disposed in matrix is ascended and descended to a lower die on which a sheet is placed, and the residue portion is separated and removed from the product portion by pushing the residue portion with pins remaining on the upper die corresponding to positions of the residue portion of the sheet.
- However, in the conventional residue removing apparatus described above, for protecting the product portion in removing the residue portion, it is necessary to detect and remove the pins which are on the border of the product portion and the residue portion and may contact fine complicated parts of the product portion beforehand. And, this removal is conducted by manual work.
- It is quite difficult and inefficient to find the unnecessary pin (which may damage the product portion) even for a skilled worker. Especially, in a case of small-amount production of various products, improvement of working efficiency is required.
- It is therefore an object of the present invention to provide a residue removing apparatus with which the residue portion can be separated and removed from the product portion without damaging the product portion, and especially, pins (which may damage the product portion) are automatically removed before the punching without high skills of workers.
- According to the invention, there is provided a residue removing apparatus comprising an upper die, holding upper die pins for punching as to be vertically movable and fixable, a lower die holding lower die pins for punching as to be vertically movable and fixable, a first template for product portion, disposed between the upper die and the lower die, which contacts pins, among the upper die pins, corresponding to a product portion of a punched sheet to move the pins corresponding to the product portion and interference pins interfering with a residue portion of the sheet to an upper retreat position, and a second template for a residue portion, disposed between the upper die and the lower die which contacts pins, among the lower die pins, corresponding to the residue portion of the sheet to move the pins corresponding to the residue portion and interference pins interfering with the product portion of the sheet to a lower retreat position, wherein a part of or the whole of the pin hole formed on the upper die and a part of or the whole of the pin hole formed on the lower die are disposed as not to correspond to each other in a top view.
- The present invention will be described, by way of example, with reference to the accompanying drawings, in which:
- Figure 1 is a front view showing a main construction of a residue removing apparatus according to an embodiment of the present invention;

- Figure 10 is an enlarged partial view of the template for the residue portion; and
- Figure 11 is an explanatory view of a conveying device.
-
- Preferred embodiments of the present invention will now be described with reference to the accompanying drawings.
- Figure 1 through Figure 3 show a fundamental construction and working of a residue removing apparatus. Mark 1 is an upper die, 2 is a lower die, 3 indicates upper die pins for punching (referred to as the upper die pins below) held by the
upper die 1 as to be movable in vertical direction and fixable, 4 indicates lower die pins for punching (referred as the lower die pins below) held by thelower die 2 as to be movable in vertical direction and fixable. Theupper die 1 and thelower die 2, guided by guidingrods template 7 for product portion and 8 is atemplate 8 for residue portion. Both of thetemplate rods upper die 1 and thelower die 2 by a driving device not shown in Figures. - With the construction above, as shown in Figure 2, among the
upper die pins 3, pins 31 which contact a template main body 71 (refer to Figure 7) corresponding to aproduct portion 12 of a punched sheet (referred as the sheet below) 11 (refer to Figure 6) are moved to anupper retreat position 18 with interference pins 151 interfering with aresidue portion 13 of thesheet 11 by elevating thetemplate 7 for product portion, and onlypins 17 for residue, not interfering with theproduct portion 12, can be left on a workingposition 28 of theupper die 1. - On the other hand, pins 41 corresponding to the residue portion, which contact a template main body 81 (refer to Figure 8) corresponding to the
residue portion 13 of thesheet 11 are moved to a lower retreat position 19 with interference pins 152 interfering with theproduct portion 12 of thesheet 11 by descending thetemplate 8 for residue portion, and onlypins 16 for product, not interfering withresidue portion 13, can be left on a workingposition 29 of thelower die 2. - After that interference pins 15 (151 and 152), interfering with the both of the
product portion 12 and theresidue portion 13, are divided and retreated to the upper retreat position 18 (of the upper die 1) and the lower retreat position 19 (of the lower die 2) respectively, as shown in Figure 3,plural sheets 11 are layered on thepins 16 for product, theupper die 1 is descended, and theresidue portion 13 of thesheet 11 is separated and removed from theproduct portion 12 by thepins 17 for residue not interfering with theproduct portion 12. Therefore, theproduct portion 12 is obtained flawless, with small number of production processes and good efficiency. - And, an upper half and a lower half of the guiding
rod template 7 for product portion and thetemplate 8 for residue portion are ascended and descended simultaneously thereby. And, marks 26 in Figure 3 show end receiving members for receiving ends of thesheet 11 to prevent thesheet 11 from drooping. When thesheet 11 receives impact from thepins 17 for residue, lower parts of the end receiving members turn outward and release the ends of thesheet 11. - To explain the whole apparatus in further detail, the
upper die 1, for example, as shown in Figure 4 and Figure 5, a cross-sectional view at X-X line of Figure 4, is composed of two pin boards B1, on which many pin holes H1 are formed, layered as to relatively slide. The pin holes H1 of large diameter are disposed alternately with the pin holes H1 of small diameter, average diameter of the pin holes H1 is set to be relatively small, and intervals between the pin holes H1 are relatively small. And, in Figure 5, 42 is a stop ring to set limitation of the elevation of theupper die pin 3. - As described above, the apparatus can correspond to complicated configuration of the product portion 12 (and the residue portion 13) such as small gaps, small holes, etc. with flexibility by setting average diameter of the
upper die pins 3 which fit to the pin holes H1 relatively small, and punching accuracy is remarkably improved. And, although not shown in Figures, the pin holes H1 formed on the pin board B1 may be disposed in a pattern in which a zigzag pattern and a parallel pattern are combined, or at random. - Notched
grooves upper die pin 3 fitting to each of the pin holes H1, the uppernotched groove 21 and the lowernotched groove 22 are hitched to the pin holes H 1 offset each other at the same time by sliding the both pin boards B1, and each of the upper die pins is certainly held at theupper retreat position 18 or the working position 28 (refer to Figure 2 or Figure 3). And, each of the pin holes H1 of the pin board B1 disposed on the upper side is provided with an escape hole portion S protruding outward (in sliding direction) as thenotched grooves - In an initial state, the
upper die pins 3 are suspended from the upper die with the uppernotched grooves 21 hitched to the pin holes H1 of the both pin boards B1, and a positioning member (not shown in Figures) corresponding to upper parts of theupper die pins 3 is provided as lower ends of theupper die pin 3 are arranged to be horizontal. And, as described above, as shown in Figure 5, thetemplate 7 for product is elevated, the pins 31 corresponding to the product portion are moved to theupper retreat position 18 with the interference pins 151, and the lowernotched grooves 22 are hitched to the pin holes H1 of the both pin boards B1. - And, among the
upper die pins 3, the level of the lower ends of theupper die pins 3 of large diameter may be set to be different from the level of the lower ends of theupper die pins 3 of small diameter on theworking position 28, the lower ends of the large upper die pins 3 (thepins 17 for residue) may be slightly protruded from the level of the lower ends of the small upper die pins 3 (thepins 17 for residue) as to contact theresidue portion 13 of thesheet 11 with a small time-rag between the large and small upper die pins, and the pins can be prevented from breaking thereby. - On the other hand, the
lower die 2, as shown in Figure 11, is composed of two pin boards B2, on which many pin holes H2 are formed, layered as to relatively slide. The pin holes H2 of large diameter are disposed alternately with the pin holes H2 of small diameter, average diameter of the pin holes H2 is set to be relatively large, and intervals between the pin holes H2 are relatively large. - As described above, rigidity and strength of the pin boards B2 are easily improved by setting the intervals between the pin holes H2 relatively large. A part or the whole of the pin hole H2 formed on the
lower die 2 is disposed on a position not corresponding to a part or the whole of the pin hole H1 formed on theupper die 1 in a plane view. And, although not shown in Figures, the pin hole H2 on the pin board B2 disposed on an upper side is provided with an escape hole portion similar to that of the pin board B1 of the upper die 1 (refer to Figure 4). - And, the
product portion 12 is prevented from being damaged because theproduct portion 12 can be supported with a large area for setting average diameter of thelower die pins 4 fitting to the pin holes H2 relatively large. And, although not shown in Figures, the pin holes H2 formed on the pin board B2 may be disposed in a pattern in which a zigzag pattern and a parallel pattern are combined or at random. - Notched
grooves lower die pin 4 fitting to each of the pin holes H2 similar to theupper die pin 3, each of the lower portions of thelower die pins 4 is elastically pushed upward by a coil spring 32 (or a gas spring, an air cylinder, etc. not shown in Figures) as an elastic pushing means, and a positioning member (not shown in Figures) corresponding to the lower portions of thelower die pins 4 is provided to arrange upper ends of thelower die pins 4 horizontal. And, a crank arm may be used other than the elastic pushing means. - And, as described above, the pins 41 corresponding to the residue portion are pushed down by the
template 8 for the residue portion and moved to the lower retreat position 19 with the interference pins 152, and thenotched groove 23 of the upper portion is hitched to the pin holes H2 on the both pin boards B2 offset each other. - Figure 6 shows an example of the
sheet 11 which is an object of punch work. In thesheet 11, cutting work for punching is already conducted on a border line of theproduct portion 12 and the residue portion 13 (shown with a continuous s line) in n cutting process separately provided. And,broken lines 14 show folded position. And, the configuration of thesheet 11 is not restricted to the configuration in Figure 6. - The
template 7 for the product portion, for example, as shown in Figure 7, is composed of a templatemain body 71 corresponding to theproduct portion 12 of thesheet 11, and a pair of pin boards b1 connected withhinges 33 as to freely open and close to sandwich the templatemain body 71. When thetemplate 7 for the product portion is ascended, the interference pins 151 (not shown in Figure 9) interfering with theresidue portion 13 fit to the pin holes (h1) which partially jut out of the templatemain body 71, and the interference pins 151 are moved to theupper retreat position 18 with the pins 31 corresponding to the product portion (refer to Figure 2). - Figure 10 is an enlarged view of the
template 8 for the residue portion for explanation of the interference pins 152 interfering with theproduct portion 12 of thesheet 11. When thetemplate 8 for the residue portion is descended, the interference pins 152 interfering with theproduct portion 12 fit to the pin holes (h2) which partially jut out of the templatemain body 81, and the interference pins 152 are moved to the lower retreat position 19 with the pins 41 corresponding to the residue portion (refer to Figure 2). - Figure 11 is an explanatory view of a device for conveying the
product portion 12 after the punch work. Astop ring 43 which contacts the lower face of the pin board B2 on the lower side of thelower die 2 is attached to the lower portion of thelower die pin 4 to regulate limitation of the elevation of thelower die pin 4. And, theproduct portion 12 separated from theresidue portion 13 is placed on thepins 16 for product on a position of elevation limit, namely, the working position 29 (of the lower die 2) as shown in Figure 11. - And, the
product portion 12 is raised by a rake-shaped conveyingarm 27 of the conveying device (not shown in Figures in detail) and conveyed to the outside. The conveyingarm 27 is, for example, constructed as to extend and contract in horizontal direction, and elevate in vertical direction with a combination of an oil-hydraulic or pneumatic driving source and an electric driving source. - The present invention, not restricted to the embodiment described above, can be modified within the scope of the claims.
- According to the residue removing apparatus and method of the present invention, the
residue portion 13 can be separated and removed from theproduct portion 12 with small number of production processes and good efficiency without damaging theproduct portion 12 because theresidue portion 13 of thesheet 11 is punched to be separated from theproduct portion 12 with thepins 17 for residue not interfering with theproduct portion 12 of thesheet 11 and left on the workingposition 28 of theupper die 1, and thepins 16 for product not interfering with theresidue portion 13 and left on the workingposition 29 of thelower die 2 by separately moving the interference pins 151 interfering with theresidue portion 13 to theupper retreat position 18, and the interference pins 152 interfering with theproduct portion 12 to the lower retreat position 19. - And, when the interference pins 15 are chosen, a complicated process, in which the
pins upper die 1 and thelower die 2, can be omitted, and punching is conducted swiftly. - And, according to the residue removing apparatus, freedom of design of the
upper die 1 and thelower die 2 is remarkably improved, and theupper die pin 3 which punches theresidue portion 13 and thelower die pin 4 which receives theproduct portion 12 are set to have the optimum diameter and disposed appropriately. - And, the
product portion 12 is supported with a large area by setting the average diameter of thelower die pins 4 large, the punch work is conducted with a stable supporting state, and theproduct portion 12 is hardly damaged thereby. And, portions of small area of theresidue portion 13 are punched with good accuracy by setting the average diameter of the upper die pins 3 small, the separation becomes certain, and punching accuracy of theproduct portion 12 is remarkably improved. - And, the interference pins 15 (151, 152) are rapidly selected and moved to the
upper retreat position 18 and the lower retreat position 19 because thetemplate 7 for the product portion and thetemplate 8 for the residue portion are simultaneously ascended and descended. Further, the upper die pins 3 and thelower die pins 4 can be hitched to the pin holes H1 and H2 by sliding the pin boards B1 and B2 relatively, holding of thepins positions upper retreat position 18, an the lower retreat position 19, etc. is made rapid and certain, and efficiency of the punch work is improved thereby. - While preferred embodiments of the present invention have been described in this specification, it is to be understood that the invention is illustrative and not restrictive, because various changes are possible within the scope of the claims.
