Definitions
- the invention relates to the field of snow sliding sports, and more precisely to that of snowboarding. It concerns more particularly the bindings to be mounted on surfboards, the design of which makes it particularly ergonomic.
- surf bindings There are many types of surf bindings, each type being more specifically adapted to a particular practice.
- the surfer can adopt positions particularly inclined relative to the board.
- the relative flexibility of the shoes also allows a good perception sensations from the board.
- Such fasteners have a mounting base on the board, and a rear tile forming a gutter for receiving the back of the stem of the shoe of the user.
- a gutter can extend up to half the height of calf.
- DE-U-91 13766.7 describes such a fixation.
- This fixation is equipped with two symmetrical stops arranged on the gutter, and intended to limit the inclination of the gutter to the rear. These stops are adjustable in height for adapt the rearmost position of the gutter to the wishes of the user.
- the vertical position of the gutter is not optimal for the taking the supports when the leg is slightly inclined with respect to a position perpendicular to the board.
- a problem to be solved by the invention is that of the rigidity of fixation, and its incompatibility with the need to optimize the inclination of legs relative to the board.
- This attachment is characterized in that it comprises means capable of adjusting the inclination of the median plane of the gutter with respect to the lower face of the base.
- the gutter of this attachment is laterally adjustable from way to adjust the inclination of the leg relative to the board, according to the commonly known movement in the field of surfing under the name of "Canting".
- the fasteners according to the invention allow the gutter, and therefore to the leg, to deviate from the perpendicular, which turns out particularly ergonomic, especially in certain "free style" practices.
- the position of the leg is optimal for the surfer who enjoys the rigidity of the gutter fixation to take back supports in particular.
- the invention covers all kinds of fastener design and for example those in which the gutter is mounted rigidly relative to the base, or even more preferably those in which the gutter has a pivoting capacity relative to the base, perpendicular to its plane median of symmetry.
- the gutter is mobile, and can be folded on the base when the attachment is off.
- the means able to adjust the inclination of the gutter relative to the base are constituted by a plurality of positions of the axis of pivoting of the gutter relative to the base.
- the plan is of symmetry to adopt several orientations deviating from the perpendicular to the board.
- the base comprises a plurality of housings adapted to receive fingers mounted on the channel, said fingers serving pivot axis of the gutter relative to the base.
- a series of dwellings may be provided on one side only of the base, or on both sides, so as to allow tilting of sides and other of the vertical.
- These housings can be arranged vertically, one above the others, or on a slightly inclined axis with respect to the vertical.
- the fastener comprises a connecting piece cooperating with the base and the gutter.
- This connecting piece is mounted with pivoting capacity relative to the base around a first axis.
- This piece link is also suitable for adopting a plurality of positions derived from each other by pivoting about a second axis, the first and second pivot axes being spatially offset.
- the attachment includes an element capable of pivoting, both by relative to the base and relative to the gutter, this element forming an eccentric so that its pivoting relative to the gutter shifts the position of the pivot axis of the gutter relative to the base, thereby modifying the inclination of the pivot axis of the gutter.
- the fastener may comprise a single eccentric element located on one side of the fixation, or else two eccentric elements cooperating with the base and the gutter on each side of the binding, to allow adjustment of the inclination of the plane of symmetry of the gutter on both sides of the perpendicular to the board.
- This eccentric connecting piece can be located on the side outside the base, either on the inner face of the gutter, or between the gutter and the base.
- the connecting piece has an area in relief suitable for embedding in a housing complementary to the gutter.
- the position of the pivot axis of the eccentric relative to the base is modified.
- the pivoting of the eccentric inside the housing of the gutter can be carried out continuously, or even discreetly.
- the area in relief may comprise a plurality of lobes identical, distributed on this periphery, the housing of the gutter presenting then a plurality of recessed areas of profile complementary to these lobes.
- the number of lobes determines the number of positions that can be adopted the eccentric with respect to the gutter, and thus the precision of the tuning of the canting.
- the connecting piece can be secured to the gutter either by means of screwing, or even temporarily by a cam mechanism actuated by a retractable lever, allowing the modification of the inclination without disassembly or the use of a particular tool.
- the invention relates to a surf binding (1) which comprises in a known manner a base (2) and a gutter (3).
- base (2) has a lower face (4), which is intended to come into contact with the board, possibly via a platform to orient the attachment relative to the longitudinal axis of the board.
- Such a base (2) thus comprises a plate (5) substantially parallel to the upper face of the board, and two lateral flanks (7, 8) extending to the back by a bow (9).
- FIG. 1 does not represent the attachment means of the shoe on the fixation itself, since multiple solutions can be used without interfering with the principle of the invention.
- the binding (1) therefore comprises, connected to the base, a gutter (3), going up substantially at the mid-height of the leg, and intended to form a tile receiving the back of the user's boot.
- fasteners are intended to be used for the feet right or left indifferently, so that they present a symmetry by relative to the longitudinal median plane, at least as regards the cooperating with the back of the shoe.
- the base (2) and the trough (3) themselves have a median plane of symmetry (10) which, as shown in Figure 2a, is perpendicular to the lower face (4) of the base (2). , and therefore perpendicular to the gliding board.
- This arrangement corresponds to the existing orientation on the fasteners of the prior art.
- the invention is not limited to symmetrical fixings, but also covers fasteners that have asymmetrical geometry, and especially an asymmetrical gutter.
- the attachment is such that it comprises means for adjusting the inclination of the median plane (10) of the gutter (3) relative to the lower face (4) of the base (2).
- fixation illustrated in FIG. 2a can, thanks to this arrangement, be find in the geometry illustrated in Figure 2b, in which the gutter (3) is slightly inclined to the vertical.
- the fasteners illustrated in the attached figures all have a gutter which is mounted with a pivoting capacity relative to the base. Nevertheless, the invention also covers variants not shown in which this gutter is not pivotally mounted relative to the base, while retaining a lateral inclination capacity of the gutter.
- the pivoting of the gutter (3) can be provided by the cooperation of two fingers (20, 21), placed each on the outer face (22, 23) of the gutter, at the level of the zone in view of the base (2), and two housing (24, 25) complementary, in which penetrate the fingers (20, 21).
- the base (2) has a plurality of housings (24-29) arranged one above others.
- pivoting of the gutter (3) relative to the base (2) is achieved through a connecting piece (40) cooperating with the base (2) and the gutter (3).
- such a connecting piece (40) consists of a disc of reduced thickness (41), and an area in relief (42) of constant thickness, and comprising four lobes (43-46) arranged symmetrically relative to the center point (47) of said raised area (42).
- This relief zone (42) is intended to be embedded in a dwelling complementary (50) provided on the lower part of the gutter.
- the housing provided in the gutter also has a shape including four lobes, so that the connecting piece (40) can adopt four positions different from each other by rotating a quarter of a turn around the axis perpendicular to the disk (41) and passing through the center (47) of the area in relief (42).
- the invention is not limited to the illustrated geometry, but covers variants in which the number of lobes and their shape are clearly different.
- this intermediate piece can be done continuously.
- the connecting piece (40) has a hole for receiving a finger (51) serving as a pivot axis of the gutter by compared to the base.
- this finger is constituted by a bolt (52) whose head comes into contact with the disc (41) of the connecting piece (40) and whose rod extends through the piece of link (40) and all or part of the lateral flank (7) of the base (2).
- the nut of the bolt is camouflaged between two walls (54, 55) constituting the flank of the base, for aesthetic reasons.
- the bolt can cross the entire base to appear laterally, so as to facilitate the position adjustment maneuvers.
- the finger (51) constituting the axis of pivoting between the gutter (3) and the base (2) is offset from the center (47) of the connecting piece (40). With this arrangement, when the connecting piece (40) is rotated in its housing (50), the finger (51) is moved.
- FIGS. 7a to 7c illustrate, for greater clarity, several positions of the part link (40) and the gutter (3) relative to the base (2).
- the eccentric connecting piece (40) is disposed of so that the finger (51) passing through the base is at the same level as the center (47) of the connecting piece.
- the gutter (3) is slightly raised, and the axis of pivoting of the gutter (3) relative to the base (2) is therefore inclined with respect to the main face.
- FIG. 7c illustrates a position of the attachment, in which the eccentric piece (40) is pivoted so that the center (47) of the workpiece link is below the level of the finger (51).
- the junction zone between the flank (7) of the base (2) and the plate (5) is hollowed out to allow the passage of the disc (41) of the eccentric (40) when the latter is pivoted in the lower position, as illustrated in FIG. Figure 7c.
- the attachment can be equipped with one or two elements eccentric (40).
- each flank of the base comprises a eccentric (40)
- the inclination of the gutter can be doubled compared to embodiments in which the attachment comprises only one eccentric.
