Die Flanken der Abdeckung, die von der Kupplungskugel in Richtung Wagenheck verlaufen, können hierbei so angeordnet sein, daß ihre Konturen eine Komponente quer zur Fahrtrichtung besitzt, d.h. daß sie schräg verlaufen (Fig. 1). Durch eine schräge Anordnung dieser Flanken erfolgt ein eventueller Körperkontakt mit den Flanken der Abdeckung nur unter entsprechend stumpfem Winkel, wodurch die Verletzungsgefahr minimiert wird.
