Abstract
Die Erfindung betrifft eine Vorrichtung zur Abgasreinigung von Brennkraftmaschinen mit einem Abgaskatalysator und einer Partikelfiltereinrichtung zum Filtern von Feststoffen aus dem Abgas, wobei die Vorrichtung als integrierte Baueinheit ausgeführt ist, die im durch die Baueinheit geführten Abgastrom den Abgaskatalysator und die Partikelfiltereinrichtung aufweist. Zweckmäßigerweise enthält die Partikelfiltereinrichtung eine ringförmige Filterstruktur, die zwischen einem perforierten Außenrohr und einem perforierten Innenrohr angeordnet ist, wobei die beiden Rohrstirnseiten abgedeckt sind und in einer Öffnung der einen Rohrstirnseite der Abgaskatalysator angeordnet ist, durch den das zugeführte Abgas in einen Innenhohlraum des Innenrohres einströmt und von dort im wesentlichen radial durch das perforierte Innenrohr, die Filterstruktur und das perforierte Außenrohr abströmt. <IMAGE>
Description
Die Erfindung betrifft eine Vorrichtung zur Abgasreinigung
von Brennkraftmaschinen mit einem Abgaskatalysator und einer Partikelfiltereinrichtung
zum Filtern von Feststoffen aus dem Abgas.
Aus der EP 0 334 910 B1 ist ein Rußfilter mit rohrförmigen Filterkerzen
bekannt geworden, die auf einem gelochten Rohr ein
Filtermaterial aufweisen, das beispielsweise als rundgestrickte
Maschenware aus Keramikgarn hergestellt ist. Ein derartiger Warenschlauch
wird in der Art eines Strumpfes über das Rohr aufgezogen.
Bei einem mehrlagigen Aufbau des Filtermaterials werden
mehrere Warenschläuche übereinander auf das Rohr aufgezogen.
Aus der EP 0 341 832 B1 ist ein System zur Verarbeitung von
Dieselabgas bekannt geworden, das einen Katalysator, z. B. einen
keramischen Wabenkörper mit einer katalytischen Beschichtung,
zum Oxidieren von im Abgas enthaltenen NO zu NO2 und eine
stromabwärts vom Katalysator angeordnete Filtereinrichtung, z.
B. ein Zellenkeramikfilter, zum Filtern von Partikeln aus dem
Abgas aufweist.
Der Erfindung liegt die Aufgabe zugrunde, eine Vorrichtung
gemäß dem Oberbegriff des Anspruchs 1 anzugeben, die
eine verbesserte Abgasreinigungswirkung bei einfachem und
kompaktem Aufbau aufweist.
Die Aufgabe wird dadurch gelöst, daß die gattungsgemäße Vorrichtung
erfindungsgemäß als integrierte Baueinheit ausgeführt
ist, die im durch die Baueinheit geführten Abgasstrom
den Abgaskatalysator und die Partikelfiltereinrichtung aufweist.
Gegenüber bisher bekannten Abgasreinigungsvorrichtungen,
die in einem ersten Gehäuse den Abgaskatalysator und in
einem nachgeschalteten zweiten Gehäuse die Partikelfiltereinrichtung
enthalten, benötigt die integrierte Baueinheit weniger
Bauraum und kann motornah mit minimalem Abstand untergebracht
werden. Das hat den Vorteil, daß Temperaturverlust im
Abgas vermieden wird, so daß das Regenerieren des Partikelfilters
erleichtert wird.
Vorteilhafte Ausgestaltungen der Vorrichtung sind in den Unteransprüchen
angegeben.
Bei einer im Hinblick auf den Raumbedarf optimierten Anordnung
ist im Abgaszustrom der Abgaskatalysator und stromabwärts
die Partikelfiltereinrichtung angeordnet.
Dabei kann die Partikelfiltereinrichtung eine ringförmige
Filterstruktur mit einer im wesentlichen axialen Abgaszuströmung
in einen Innenhohlraum der Filterstruktur und einer im
wesentlichen radialen Abgasabströmung aus dem Innenhohlraum
durch die Filterstruktur aufweisen, wobei in die Abgaszuströmung
der Partikelfiltereinrichtung der Abgaskatalysator integriert
ist.
Eine andere Ausgestaltung sieht vor, daß die Partikelfiltereinrichtung
eine ringförmige Filterstruktur enthält, die
zwischen einem perforierten Außenrohr und einem perforierten
Innenrohr angeordnet ist, wobei die beiden Rohrstirnseiten
abgedeckt sind und in einer Öffnung der einen Rohrstirnseite
der Abgaskatalysator angeordnet ist, durch den das zugeführte
Abgas in einen Innenhohlraum des Innenrohres einströmt und
von dort im wesentlichen radial durch das perforierte Innenrohr,
die Filterstruktur und das perforierte Außenrohr abströmt.
Die Filterstruktur enthält zweckmäßigerweise ein Filtergewebe
und ein Drahtgestrick. Die Filterstruktur kann aus sich regelmäßig
oder unregelmäßig abwechselnden Lagen von Drahtgestrick
mit Hilfsfaden und Fasergewebe mehrlagig aufgebaut
sein, um eine Optimierung des Filterergebnisses z. B. durch
Einstellen der Dichte des Fasermaterials in Abhängigkeit des
Einsatzortes der Filterstruktur und des zu reinigenden Abgases
zu erzielen. Zur Verbesserung der Filterwirkung kann es
vorteilhaft sein, wenn das Filtermedium nicht nur aus Fasergewebe
besteht, sondern auch zusätzlich lockeres Fasermaterial
aus temperaturfesten Fasern aufweist.
Zur Optimierung der Filterwirkung für unterschiedliche Anwendungsfälle
der Filterstruktur kann das Fasergewebe in seiner
Höhe, Dichte, Webart und Faserart variiert sein. Dabei kann
die Dichte in Quer- und in Längsrichtung des Fasergewebes unterschiedlich
sein. Bei unterschiedlichen Webarten können
sich die einzelnen Fäden von Kette und Schuß unterschiedlich
kreuzen. Eine hochtemperaturfeste Faser kann als Keramik- oder
als Glasfaser verwendet werden.
Eine verbesserte katalytische Abgasreinigung wird auch dadurch
erzielt, daß ein zweiter Katalysator in das Innenrohr
mit Abstand zu dem ersten Katalysator eingebaut ist.
Nachfolgend wird die Erfindung anhand von Ausführungsbeispielen
einer erfindungsgemäßen Vorrichtung unter Bezugnahme auf Zeichnungen
näher erläutert. Es zeigt:

- in einem Längsschnitt in schematischer Darstellung ein zweites Ausführungsbeispiel der erfindungsgemäßen Vorrichtung;
Eine Vorrichtung zur Abgasreinigung umfaßt ein metallisches Innenrohr
4 und ein metallisches Außenrohr 5, welche unter Bildung
eines Ringraums koaxial zueinander angeordnet sind. Das
Innenrohr 4 ist länger als das Außenrohr 5 und in der Weise im
Außenrohr angeordnet, daß es an einem Ende bündig mit diesem
abschließt und am anderen Ende aus dem Außenrohr 5 herausragt.
Die Stirnseite der Vorrichtung mit den bündigen Rohrabschlüssen
ist dicht mit einer Scheibe 11 verschlossen. Die an der gegenüberliegenden
Stirnseite ist der Ringraum 2 mit einem Ring 9
abgeschlossen. Zwischen Scheibe 11 und Ring 9 sind das Innen- und
Außenrohr 4 und 5 perforiert. Der über das Außenrohr 5
überstehende Rohrabschnitt 7 des Innenrohrs 4 weist in dem dargestellten
Beispiel eine geschlossene Wand auf.
Der Ringraum ist mit einem Fasermaterial oder Fasergewebe 3 gefüllt,
welches durch ein Drahtgestrick (nicht dargestellt) gestützt
sein kann. Er dient als Filtermedium für Partikel im Abgas
eines Verbrennungsmotors.
Im Rohrabschnitt 7 des Innenrohrs 4 ist vor der Stirnseite des
Außenrohrs 5 liegend ein Wabenkörper 8 mit katalytischer Beschichtung
angeordnet. Die Wabenstruktur des Wabenkörpers 8
kann dabei unmittelbar im Rohrabschnitt 7 angeordnet sein. Alternativ
ist es auch möglich, den Wabenkörper 8 in einem separaten,
zylindrischen Gehäuse anzuordnen (nicht dargestellt),
welches in den Rohrabschnitt 7 eingesetzt ist. Der Wabenkörper
8 oder ein gegebenenfalls vorhandenes zylindrisches Gehäuse ist
am Innenrohr 4 angeschweißt.
Zu reinigendes Abgas wird gemäß Pfeil 20 über eine nicht gezeigte
Zuführung zugeführt.
Durch die integrale Anordnung des Wabenkörpers und des Partikelfilters
dadurch, daß das Innenrohr 4 sowohl Teil des Partikelfilters
ist als auch Träger für den Wabenkörper 8, erhält
man eine äußerst kompakte Vorrichtung.
Das Abgas strömt zu dem Katalysator 8 und durch ihn hindurch,
wobei durch die Reaktion mit der katalytischen Beschichtung des
Katalysators CO in CO2, HC in H2O und NO in NO2 (jedoch nur weniger
als etwa 20% des im Abgas vorhandenen NO) umgesetzt wird.
Der durch den Katalysator 8 axial in den zylindrischen Innenraum
12 des Innenrohres 4 zugeführte Abgasstrom strömt radial
und/oder schräg zur Längsachse gleichmäßig nach außen durch das
perforierte Innenrohr 4, die Filterstruktur 1 und das perforierte
Außenrohr 5. Dabei filtert die Filterstruktur 1 die
Feststoffpartikel, wie insbesondere Ruß, aus dem Dieselabgas.
In Fig. 2 ist ein Ausführungsbeispiel gezeigt, das gemäß der
in Fig. 1 gezeigten Vorrichtung aufgebaut ist und einen weiteren
katalytisch beschichteten Wabenkörper aufweist, der im Innenrohr
4 beabstandet von dem ersten Katalysa-tor 8 eingepaßt
ist. Der weitere Katalysator 13 liegt somit auch vollständig
innerhalb des Außenrohres 5. Während ein Anteil des Abgasstromes
vor dem zweiten Katalysator 13 durch einen ersten Abschnitt
14 der Filterstruktur 1 nach außen abströmt, strömt der restliche
Abgasstrom noch durch den zweiten Katalysator 13, bevor
er durch den hinteren Abschnitt 15 der Filterstruktur 1 abströmt.
In dem zweiten Katalysator 13 erfolgt eine zusätzliche
katalytische Abgasreinigung. In Abhängigkeit von dem Abstand
zwischen den beiden Katalysatoren 8 und 13 können sich unterschiedliche
Druck- und Strömungsverhältnisse in dem vorderen
und dem hinteren Innenraum 12 bzw. 12' vor und hinter
dem zweiten Katalysator 13 einstellen, die eine Anpassung und
Optimierung der katalytischen Wirkung sowie der Filterwirkung
gestatten. Durch die Anordnung des weiteren Katalysators 13 und
den dadurch aufgebauten Gegendruck im axialen Abgasstrom wird
die radiale Durchströmung der Filterstruktur 1 stromaufwärts
vor dem Katalysator 13 erhöht. Somit wird die Verteilung des
radialen Strömungsanteils über die Länge der Filterstruktur 1
verbessert.
Um die wirksame Oberfläche des weiteren Katalysators 13 zu erhöhen,
kann es zweckmäßig sein, den betreffenden Wabenkörper
mit radialen Öffnungen zu versehen, beispielsweise indem er aus
einem gelochten Blech gewickelt wird. Radiale Öffnungen unterstützten
ferner den radialen Abgasstrom in die Filterstruktur
hinein.
Der weitere Katalysator 13 ist bevorzugt im Innenrohr 4 verschweißt.
Falls es zweckmäßig ist, können auch mehrere zweite Katalysatoren
beabstandet voneinander im Innenrohr 4 angeordnet sein. Die
Wabenstruktur kann dabei zur Optimierung der Druckverhältnisse
jeweils unterschiedlich sein.
Claims (6)
- Vorrichtung zur Abgasreinigung von Brennkraftmaschinen mit einem Abgaskatalysator und einer Partikelfiltereinrichtung zum Filtern von Feststoffen aus dem Abgas,
dadurch gekennzeichnet,
daß die Vorrichtung als integrierte Baueinheit ausgeführt ist, die im durch die Baueinheit geführten Abgasstrom den Abgaskatalysator (8) und die Partikelfiltereinrichtung (1) aufweist. - Vorrichtung nach Anspruch 1,
dadurch gekennzeichnet,
daß im Abgaszustrom der Abgaskatalysator (8) und stromabwärts dazu die Partikelfiltereinrichtung (1) angeordnet ist. - Vorrichtung nach Anspruch 1 oder 2,
dadurch gekennzeichnet,
daß die Partikelfiltereinrichtung (1) eine ringförmige Filterstruktur (1, 4, 5) mit einer im wesentlichen axialen Abgaszuströmung in einen Innenhohlraum (12) der Filterstruktur (1, 4, 5) und einer im wesentlichen radialen Abgasabströmung aus dem Innenhohlraum (12) durch die Filterstruktur (1, 4, 5) aufweist, und daß in die Abgaszuströmung der Partikelfiltereinrichtung (1) der Abgaskatalysator (8) integriert ist. - Vorrichtung nach einem der Ansprüche 1 bis 3,
dadurch gekennzeichnet,
daß die Partikelfiltereinrichtung (1) eine ringförmige Filterstruktur (1, 4, 5) enthält, die zwischen einem perforierten Außenrohr (5) und einem perforierten Innenrohr (4) angeordnet ist, wobei die beiden Rohrstirnseiten (6, 10) abgedeckt sind und in einer Öffnung der einen Rohrstirnseite (6) der Abgaskatalysator (8) angeordnet ist, durch den das zugeführte Abgas in einen Innenhohlraum (12) des Innenrohres (4) einströmt und von dort im wesentlichen radial durch das perforierte Innenrohr (4), die Filterstruktur (1) und das perforierte Außenrohr (5) abströmt. - Vorrichtung nach einem der Ansprüche 1 bis 4,
dadurch gekennzeichnet,
daß die Filterstruktur (1) ein Filtergewebe (3) und ein Drahtgestrick (2) enthält. - Vorrichtung nach einem der Ansprüche 1 bis 5,
dadurch gekennzeichnet,
daß ein zweiter Katalysator (13) in das Innenrohr (4) mit Abstand zu dem ersten Katalysator (8) eingebaut ist.
