Abstract
Description
The present invention relates to a lighting element with a support and mounting body, Cover and light source.
Such lighting elements are well known from the prior art and find various uses. For example, they are shaped in a wide variety of ways Luminous elements for the interior lighting of living, working or business premises used. Also for lighting rooms or areas outside In enclosed spaces, such lighting elements are used.
In addition to the pure function of lighting, such lighting elements also fulfill this purpose of surfaces or lighting of rooms often additional lighting design and accentuating as well as safety functions, e.g. as Emergency and escape route lights.
Luminous elements are usually used to generate flat light radiation used in those from a point, volume or linear light source generated light by means of reflectors, expansion lenses or other optics is redirected to give the impression of an extensive light emission. In addition, frosted covers are often used, which continue to be Diffuse the emerging light.
In the case of such lighting elements, which generate a planar light emission serve, despite the above-mentioned tools to expand the through point or line-shaped light source generated or for diffusing the Often the light source itself can still be recognized as such, so that a uniform flat impression of the emerging light is not generated.
Another disadvantage arises from that caused by the additional optical devices structural depth of such lighting elements.
Proceeding from this, the object of the invention is to further develop a generic lighting element in such a way that it is simple and inexpensive to produce, robust against external influences and versatile in use as a decorative or safety-related design element, and that improved planar light radiation is achieved.
The solution according to the invention consists of a light-emitting element, the light source of which is designed as a plate-shaped lighting unit radiating flatly on at least one surface and is arranged in layers between a support and mounting element and a cover.
By using a surface radiating at least on one surface plate-shaped lighting unit can only be used using diffusing agents, such as a diffusing cover, the impression of a flat lighting can be generated without additional optical To have to use components such as reflectors or lenses. The Possibility to achieve a flat light emission without such components can, a structure of such a lighting element with opposite comparable, conventional lighting elements significantly reduced, structurally conditional depth.
According to an advantageous proposal of the invention is a radiating surface plate-shaped lighting unit provided a board on which to generate light LEDs are arranged. LEDs show compared to conventional Light sources have a significantly longer lifespan (> 100,000 hours, the corresponds to a lifespan of more when used for 12 hours a day than 25 years). Such a lighting element can thus be used comparatively be operated for a long period of time without maintenance. This in turn contributes to economy of such a lighting element.
The simple and safe construction of the component according to the invention can do this without hesitation, even in potentially explosive areas be used.
Light-emitting diodes also offer the advantage that, depending on the type of construction, they have different light Can produce colors. So LEDs are known, the red, provide orange, yellow, green, teal, blue and white light. By a corresponding arrangement of different types of LEDs on the board can therefore add decorative color effects alongside pure light generation the luminous surface of the light element can be achieved.
It is also conceivable that light-emitting diodes are advantageous in accordance with the invention can be arranged on the circuit board for light generation such that LEDs of the three primary colors red, green and blue as well as any additional ones white light emitting diodes are spatially closely summarized, so that these Adjust currents of different heights individually in their respective light intensity can be changed and thus the impression of a viewer single point or a surface with a mixed color. By a such color mixing can be used to create any color. With appropriate The light-emitting diodes can also control smooth color transitions can be realized along the illuminated surface. With appropriate arrangement such LED groups on the board and a corresponding circuit these LEDs can be controlled with a video signal, so that the display of static or dynamic images on a such lighting element can be realized.
The use of a large number of light-emitting diodes also offers the Advantage that when interconnecting independent LEDs the operational security of the overall system due to the redundancy created in this way Single light sources is ensured.
Preferred light-emitting diodes are light-emitting diodes with a lens head or flat SMD LEDs are used. In principle, however, LEDs can be used any shape can be used.
In an alternative arrangement it is provided that as a plate-like, flat Luminous unit uses a layer of light-guiding or scattering material is on the strip-shaped lights on one or more front edges strip-shaped boards preferably equipped with light-emitting diodes are. The light is coupled into the layer via the front edges and through radiated one or both surfaces of the layer, the one of the desired If necessary, the surface of the layer opposite the light exit side should be even or can be designed to be gradually reflective. The used Illuminants are preferably light-emitting diodes, but can also be used as glow or Incandescent lamps or other known lamps can be formed.
In addition, light sources are also arranged for areal radiation Light guides, incandescent or glow lamps and gas discharge lamps possible.
To increase the stability of the lighting element, it has proven to be advantageous the support and mounting element in the form of a base plate on which the plate-shaped lighting unit is arranged to perform. According to another Advantageous proposal of the invention, the support and mounting element at least have a recess which is used to hold electrical components, such as. Ballast or control electronics is suitable. This recess or recesses are expediently on one or several sides of the supporting body, which are not covered by the lighting unit are. This facilitates access to the electrical components for maintenance purposes. The recess and the ones arranged therein can expediently be used electrical components with at least one covering the recess Protective plate must be closed. To supply the electrical components with electrical voltage can be provided on this protective plate his. If necessary. can provide recesses for better heat dissipation to allow air to pass through. For heat dissipation, cooling fins on the Base plate may be provided.
It has also proven to be advantageous to make the support and mounting element To produce metal, in particular electrically conductive metal. So that the carrying and Mounting element to be electrically connected to a ground, whereby Accidents in the event of live electrical contacts with the support element electrical supply lines can be prevented. In addition, through the Use of a support and mounting element made of metal ensures good heat dissipation guaranteed. For this purpose, a support and mounting element should preferably be used a metal with good thermal conductivity. Basically suitable However, any load-bearing material to form a support and assembly element.
A particularly simple construction of the lighting element according to the invention results itself when the cover of the light source by potting with a transparent Potting material, e.g. Plastic that is formed. This enables a special flat design of the lighting element according to the invention and offers the Light source Protection against weather-related influences such as moisture in particular. This is of particular interest if the lighting element according to the invention outdoors, i.e. outside of enclosed spaces should. It is also possible to make the support and mounting element from a potting material to build. So the lighting element as a core in such a potting material are poured in, which is the light exit surface of the lighting element facing side of the hardened potting material, the cover and the opposite side of the hardened potting material the support and Forms assembly element.
In addition, the potting compound can be optically advantageous according to the invention acting substances are added. These substances include fluorescent Substances or substances that cause diffusion are understood. With fluorescent substances, for example. The light intensity of the invention Luminous element can be increased. Diffusing substances can be used be added to the surface appearance of the light source to support.
The integration of the lighting unit in a casting compound has a variety of Advantages. Potting thus has a high static strength, i.e. Printing and Stiffness reached. Such a structure can also be used very good protection or good tightness against almost all harmful Media can be achieved. When choosing a potting material with good thermal conductivity good heat dissipation can be achieved, which in turn increases Packing density than can be achieved with non-encapsulated systems. When the lighting unit is embedded in an elastic casting compound the former has good vibration resistance and is e.g. particularly resistant against vandalism. Finally, by choosing special boards, flexible circuit boards or a circuit-free construction of the lighting unit due to the Supporting the potting compound to achieve curved or flexible surfaces Create lighting elements. The potting compound can be used a separate cover the entire volume between the support and Fill in the mounting element and cover while embedding the lighting unit. However, between the side facing away from the supporting and mounting element the potting compound and the cover also be left an air gap, the Luminous unit is completely embedded in the sealing compound.
According to a further advantageous proposal of the invention can be used as a cover a disk-shaped cover element can be used. This cover element can consist of glass, transparent plastic or similar material. It is also possible to cover this disc-shaped cover by. Surface treatment, coloring or choice of its opacity to produce optical To design effects. For example, it is conceivable that this cover element To create decorative patterns different in different areas, different colors is colored. The cover element can also be matted. Still is in the context of the invention a surface structuring of the disc-shaped Cover element possible, which diffracts from the light emerging from the surface, Refraction or other optical effects differ depending on the point of exit Character, so that it is perceived by a viewer can. Such a design can add to the aesthetic value of the invention Increase lighting element.
According to a further advantageous proposal, the cover element can be made of laminated safety glass (VSG) exist. This can advantageously between the glass layers at least in one area one or more foils be arranged, the light generated by the plate-shaped lighting unit optically influence, for example by diffusion.
According to a further advantageous proposal of the invention, the cover element so colored in different areas that it is related with the light source underneath to represent with Symbols or images connected to the signal effect is suitable.
According to a further advantageous proposal of the invention, the individual Components of the lighting element assembled frameless. In order to can produce two or more of the invention for generating larger luminous areas Light elements are combined with each other without any Frame elements interrupt the composite illuminated area. Are there smaller units that make up the desired illuminated area becomes easier to assemble and, if necessary, to maintain or replace. An execution inventive lighting elements with frame is with the present However, the invention is also provided.
The individual components of the lighting element can according to the invention in advantageously be firmly connected. This connection can be designed so that the lighting element according to the invention is stable against weather influences (e.g. casting with a weatherproof Plastic). This fixed connection can be designed so that it at a use of the lighting element according to the invention in publicly accessible Places against the increasing vandalism there a good Protection.
However, it is also within the scope of the invention, the individual components of the Luminous element to each other by holding elements, in particular clips connect. This has the advantage that in the case of maintenance-intensive light sources this by simply loosening the clips and removing the cover are quickly and easily accessible.
The lighting element of the invention can be designed as an indicator and information lamp be, including training as an emergency or safety light understand is. For training as an information and information lamp, that the lighting element according to the invention in the area of the lighting unit with pictures can be deposited or covered with slides. Can also on others Wise logos or other signs can be integrated into the lighting element.
According to a further advantageous proposal of the invention, that Luminous element can be designed as a dynamic information system. This can between the light source and the cover a connectable with a video signal LCD screen be arranged so that when turned on Luminous element and a dynamic video signal applied to the LCD screen Information, such as commercials, information about exhibitions or tourist information on monuments, shown with the light element can be. In the event that there is no video signal on the LCD screen is present, the luminous surface of the luminous element according to the invention appears homogeneously illuminated.

In beiden gezeigten Ausführungsbeispielen
Feuchtigkeit optimal geschützt ist.FIGS. 3 and 4 are cutouts in a sectional side view
two further embodiments of a lighting element according to the invention
shown. The lighting elements shown here are also tiled
formed, and they consist essentially of layers one above the other
stored support and mounting
The fact that LEDs with an operating voltage in the range of Protective extra low voltage of less than 10 V, allows the lighting element according to the present exemplary embodiments, if necessary with batteries or Operate accumulators. It is thus possible for the invention Light element to be used as emergency lighting in the event of a power failure.
Light-emitting diodes designated 5 in the exemplary embodiments are preferably used SMD LEDs use. These can be white or colored. there the LEDs can produce light of the same color over the entire surface. It can also be used to generate geometric patterns corresponding to light-emitting diodes, that produce different colored light, are distributed on the circuit board.
As already explained above, it is possible to use different colored LEDs to produce mixed colors in a suitable spatial arrangement and with them Gradients along the surface of the flat radiating plate-shaped Realize lighting unit. With appropriate interconnection and control With a video signal, characters, static or moving images can now also be used being represented.
Frameless, tiled lighting elements can be inventively combine into larger illuminated areas. The individual Light elements are available in various simple geometric shapes, such as. Rectangle, square, triangle, semicircle etc. Leave out of these shapes larger, geometrically appealing, decorative light surfaces put together. However, lighting elements according to the invention are present in all of them Any shapes can be made and not on the simple above limited geometric shapes.
