Definitions
- the present invention relates to a linear actuator for use in the iron and steel industry.
- the object of the present invention is therefore to propose an electric linear actuator for use in the iron and steel industry as a replacement for larger hydraulic cylinders.
- Such a stroke drive comprises at least one electric linear motor and a linear guide with a slide.
- Each linear motor consists of a primary part and a secondary part. All of the primary parts or secondary parts of the linear motors are mounted on the slide. According to the invention, the linear motors are in one with the linear guide 2
- linear actuators due to their design and properties, electric linear motors are in no way suitable for use in an environment that is exposed to dust and heat. It is only through the arrangement according to the invention that they become a drive for applications in the iron and steel industry which meets the requirements.
- the linear actuator according to the invention is extremely compact insensitive to environmental influences such as heat, dust, splash water. It allows quick and accurate positioning. It is extremely robust in use, tolerates non-axial loads and does not include any sensitive mechanics that could give rise to faults.
- the linear guide has at least one plane of symmetry, which contains the central axis of the lifting rod.
- the linear motors are then arranged in pairs symmetrically to this plane of symmetry. Due to the symmetrical arrangement of the linear motors, the forces are freely transferred to the lifting rod from any moment of force. This ensures a largely symmetrical load on the linear guide.
- the housing advantageously has a housing jacket with cooling channels which can be connected to a cooling circuit.
- Such cooling channels can be designed, for example, as bores in the housing jacket, preferably in the longitudinal direction of the housing. These cooling channels are then a coolant such. B. flow through, which cool the housing and the attached to the housing secondary or primary parts of the linear motors in the loaded state.
- the housing can also have a double-walled design, the space between the walls being connectable to a cooling circuit.
- the lifting rod has at least one channel which can be connected to a cooling circuit.
- a position measuring system for the slide can be integrated into the housing.
- a measuring device comprises, for example, a sensor which is attached to the slide. The position of the slide, and consequently also the position of the lifting rod mechanically connected to the slide, is thus known at all times.
- the position measuring system can then be integrated into a position control loop.
- the position control loop consists of the position measuring system, a controller and a controllable electrical power supply.
- the position of the cylindrical lifting rod is then determined at certain times via the position measuring system.
- the measured position value is passed on to the controller, which compares the measured value with a specified target value.
- the controller forms the difference value from both values.
- the controller controls the controllable electrical power supply. The latter changes the supply current of the primary parts of the linear motors.
- linear actuator according to the invention z. B. advantageous in the iron and steel industry for swinging a continuous casting mold, as e.g. is described in WO 95/03904.
- Such a device is suitable as an actuator for inflow control of liquid steel on continuous casting plants.
- Such inflow regulations regulate the filling level of the distribution channel or the continuous casting mold.
- the actuator can be used both for position control of a ceramic stopper when casting, but also for slide control. 4
- FIG. 1 a longitudinal section through a first embodiment of an electric linear actuator, in a first position
- Figure 2 shows a longitudinal section, through the linear actuator of Figure 1, in a second position
- FIG. 3 shows a cross section through the electric linear actuator from FIG. 1 and FIG. 2;
- FIG. 4 a longitudinal section through a second embodiment of an electric linear actuator, in a first position
- FIG. 5 shows a longitudinal section through the lifting drive of FIG. 4 in a second position
- FIG. 6 shows a cross section through the electric linear actuator from FIG. 4 and FIG. 5;
- FIG. 7 a section through a continuous casting mold with a vibrating device with an electric lifting drive;
- Figure 8 is a view of a device for controlling the flow in a pouring opening of a metallurgical container, with a schematic representation of a control loop.
- Figure 9 is a view of a further device for controlling the flow in a pouring opening of a metallurgical container by means of a slide.
- FIGS 1 to 6 show electric linear actuators that were specially developed to replace heavy hydraulic cylinders in the iron and steel industry.
- the lifting drive 114 shown in the figures comprises, similarly to a hydraulic cylinder, a housing 10 and a cylindrical lifting rod 12 led out of the housing 10. Sealing elements 13 seal the axially displaceable lifting rod 12 to the housing 10. Both on the housing 10 and on the lifting rod 12 is a pivot bearing 14 or 16 5
- the housing 10 serves as a protective sleeve in a dust and heat-loaded iron and steelworks environment.
- the lifting rod 12 is connected to a kind of slide 18 (see also FIGS. 3 and 6).
- This carriage 18 comprises two opposite guide bearings 20, 22 which are guided in guide rails 24, 26. The latter are attached to the housing 10.
- Guide bearings 20, 22 and guide rails 24, 26 form a robust linear guide for the slide 18 in the housing 10.
- the reference number 28 in FIG. 3 denotes the section line of a plane which runs through the two longitudinal axes of the guides 20, 24 and 22, 26.
- the longitudinal axis of the lifting rod 12 is also contained in this guide plane 28.
- the housing 10 has bores 30 in the longitudinal direction in the housing shell 29. These holes are connected to a cooling circuit and used as cooling channels in the housing. Alternatively, the housing could also be double-walled, with a cooling liquid flowing through the intermediate space. As indicated schematically in FIGS. 1 and 2, the slide 18 can also be cooled with a cooling liquid via channels 32, 34 in the lifting rod 12.
- the linear actuator has electric linear motors 36, 38, 36 ', 38' as the drive source. The latter are arranged symmetrically to the plane 28 in the housing 10. These are preferably synchronous linear motors, which comprise an energized primary part and a secondary part consisting of permanent magnets. However, the secondary part could also include electromagnets.
- the primary part can be laminated or consist of ironless coils.
- the primary part 40, 42 of the linear motors 36, 38 are each firmly connected to the housing 10, the secondary part 44, 46 is arranged on the carriage 18.
- the secondary part 44 ', 46' of the linear motors 36 ', 38' is in each case firmly connected to the housing 10, and the primary part 40 ', 42' is arranged on the carriage 18. Execution according to 6
- Figures 1 to 3 is preferable to most cases, since the much heavier primary part 40, 42 is much easier to attach to the housing than on the carriage and is also much easier to cool here.
- the lighter secondary part 44, 46 is mounted on the carriage 18 for reasons of acceleration.
- the design according to FIGS. 4 to 6 enables a shorter overall length.
- the primary parts on the slide are advantageously energized via a channel (not shown) by the lifting rod 12.
- a position measuring system 43 (shown in FIG. 3 and FIG. 6) is advantageously installed in the housing 10 in order to determine the position of the slide 18 at all times.
- the position measuring system 43 can then be integrated into a position control circuit 120 (shown in FIG. 8), so that the stroke of the drive is corrected.
- the position control loop 120 consists of the position measuring system 43, a controller 122 and a controllable electrical power supply 124.
- the position of the cylindrical lifting rod 12 is then continuously determined via the position measuring system 43.
- the measured position value is passed on to the controller 122, which compares the measured value with a predetermined target value 126.
- the controller 122 forms the difference value from the two values.
- the controller 122 controls the controllable electrical power supply 124. The latter changes the supply current of the primary parts of the linear motors.
- the lifting drives described above can be used, for example, in a vibrating device of a continuous casting mold.
- a continuous casting mold with an integrated vibrating device is e.g. B. described in WO 95/03904.
- Such a continuous casting mold is shown in FIG. 7 and provided with the reference number 50 globally. It comprises a fixed housing 51 with an integrated rocker arm 52.
- a pouring tube 54 is carried in this mold 50 by the rocker arm 52. This pouring tube is with the outer, fixed housing 51 over two 7
- the rocker arm 52 is mounted in the housing 51 by means of pivot bearings 68 in such a way that it can be pivoted about a horizontal axis.
- the reference numeral 70 designates a lifting drive according to the invention. Its lifting rod 12 is articulated to the rocker arm 52 and its housing 10 is articulated to a fixed point 72.
- the lifting drive 70 according to the invention generates controllable vibrations, with a frequency of several Hz and an amplitude in the millimeter range, which are transmitted to the pouring tube 54 via the rocker arm 52.
- such lifting drives can also be used, for example, for position control of a movable stopper 100 in the tundish of a continuous caster.
- the ceramic stopper 100 controls the flow rate of liquid steel in a pouring opening 48, which is located in the bottom 49 of the tundish above a continuous casting mold (not shown).
- the conically tapered stopper 100 is attached to a rod 102 which is mechanically connected via an arm 104 to a vertically movable guide head 106.
- the guide head 106 is guided in a vertical column 108 and rests on a spring system 110 which partially absorbs the weight of the arm 104 with the guide head 106.
