Abstract

Knitted fabric is made from a yarn (21) made by the SiroSpun process where a cotton and/or wool and/or synthetic sliver (14,15) is drawn in a drafting system (10) and combined with an elastomeric yarn (22) at the front roller (13). The components are twisted together on a conventional ring-spinning machine. An Independent claim is also included for the use of such yarns in elastic stockings, pantyhose, socks or other elastic garments.

Description

It is usually not enough just one yarn in Knit stockings, rather you have to use two yarns work simultaneously, with one yarn e.g. out Cotton and / or wool is spun and the second Yarn has the function of making the knitted fabric as high as possible To give elasticity. This is especially true for stockings of particular importance as feet and legs in Shape and dimension are very different. A However, knitting machine is ultimately only very limited in able to use a hose of different dimensions knit. Therefore, an elastic yarn must function take over the knitted piece both on the leg and on Heel and toe individually avoiding wrinkles to hold well against the body.

To achieve this, the stocking knitting technique has So far essentially the following development has taken place: First, textured polyamides were Plating yarns (which give the knitted fabric elasticity Yarns). With the wide market launch of Elastomers (e.g. Lycra) followed the so-called wrap yarns and then colored core yarns. In principle, here Elastomer threads (e.g. Lycra) wrapped with polyamide or covered with cotton.

  • a) Die beiden Garne müssen stets farbig genau aufeinander abgestimmt sein.
  • Despite this development, the actual knitting structure has not changed to this day. As before, two yarns still have to be knitted together if the knitted pieces are to be elastic. The plating technique mentioned aims to ensure that the knitting yarn and the plating yarn always assume a desired position relative to one another. The plating yarn (textured polyamide, wrapping yarn or core yarn) should always lie on the inside of the stocking, whereas the cotton yarn, the wool yarn or a mixed yarn should be visible on the outside of the stocking. This plating technique gives rise to two important problems for the hosiery knitter:
  • a) The two yarns must always be color-coordinated. In practice, this is often not possible at all, since no yarn company can have all the yarns for hosiery in its program. Different substrates also color differently. Color deviations between the cladding yarn and the knitting yarn are therefore often unavoidable.
  • b) The cladding technique has an error rate of 2-5% depending on the type of knitting and the performance of the company. This means that in the case of 2-5% of the stockings produced, the yarn on the front and back swaps its position. This leads to a streaky appearance of the stockings, which can then either be sold as a second choice or not at all.
Make the knitting procedures described above represents the state of the art today, although already At the beginning of 1960 FR-PS published 1.205.976 for the production suggested by socks or men's calf socks has, one of inelastic fibers and elastomer fibers yarn spun in an intimate mixture use. The products are said to have a very high elasticity exhibit.

On the other hand, extreme stretchability is important elastic knitwear of the mentioned here Kind of not in the first place. Rather, it is crucial optimal resilience of the partial or local stretched knitted fabrics, which makes a perfect fit of the finished product results. Besides that Yarn a perfect mesh look and a pleasant, effect as soft a grip in the stocking.

The object of the invention is to show ways the manufacture while avoiding the plating technique of knitted products such as stockings, Socks, tights, much simplified.

This is where the invention comes in. It essentially exists in making socks, Tights, socks and similar items of clothing as a knitting yarn - in weaving technology itself known yarn to use, which after the SiroSpun process (a spin-twist process) Wool and / or cotton with an elastomer filament (or when processing wrapping or core yarns one Filament core) (e.g. Lycra) together into one Fake or spun thread for these knitted products usual thread sizes is spun.

Information on the SiroSpun process can be found in Lexicon for textile finishing, Volume 3, pp. 1989-1990, Laumann-Verlag, Dülmen, 1995, to which reference is made here is taken.

So far, these so-called sirogarns are exclusively used in weaving. There they serve as a cheap option to a twisted weaving yarn. In the weaving mill play however due to the geometrically strictly defined Thread guide with weft and chain at the beginning the faults described in the plating technique not on.

The main advantage of the invention is in that for the production of elastic stockings and comparable items of clothing by way of Knitting no longer two yarns, but only one Yarn must be knitted. It can therefore be applied the plating technology, with what all disadvantages inherent in this technology are eliminated are. It has also surprisingly turned out that the product image of the finished product a very nice, shows even mesh pattern. Also surprised the goods with an extremely soft handle.

Because of further configurations and features of the Invention is referred to the claims. in the the invention is based on the accompanying Drawing explained in more detail, the schematic of a spinning station to generate a suitable for the objectives of the invention Illustrated knitting yarn.

In the figure, the drafting system is at 10 Spinning station of a ring spinning machine called. The The drafting system 10 comprises a first or rear pair of rollers 11, a second or middle pair of rollers Strappy 12 and a third or front pair of rollers 13.

The drafting system 10 with its pairs of rollers 11, 12 and 13 serves to stretch two rovings 14, 15. Both rovings can be made from wool fibers and / or cotton fibers and / or synthetics exist.

The middle pair of rollers 12 runs with slightly higher Peripheral speed than the rear pair of rollers 11, which causes only a slight warping of the roving fibers works. Between the front pair of rollers 13 and the middle pair of rollers 12 is due essentially higher peripheral speed (e.g. factor 25) of the front pair of rollers 13 stretching the rovings 14 and 15.

On the output side of the front pair of rollers 13 takes place spinning and twisting by taking up the stretched ones Rovings 14, 15 via a thread guide 16 and the ring traveler 17 of a ring 18 of the ring bench 19 Ring spinning machine not shown on the Spinnkops 20. This Spinnkops 20 thus contains that spun yarn 21.

At this point it should be noted that the schematic drawing does not indicate that the front roller pair 13 leaving material of very different Strength is. In particular, the filament 22 considerably thinner than the one in the spinning triangle incoming drawn rovings 14 and 15.

It is essential for the invention that the spinning of the yarn 21 with an additional elastomer filament 22 takes place. This is withdrawn from a supply 23 and fed to the front pair of rollers 13. This happens via one of a roller 13a of the front Roller pair 13 friction-driven third roller 13c. This has a circumferential guide groove 24, with the help of the filament 22 exactly between the two Rovings 14 and 15 inserted into the spinning triangle becomes. This then leads to the elastomer filament 22 is spun with the two rovings 14 and 15, is enveloped by them on all sides.

The warpage that the elastomer filament between the supply 23 and the front pair of rollers 13 of the spinning station experienced is about 300%; the increase in elongation, from which the 'return force' of the produced yarn results, is around 200%.

If there is talk of an elastomer filament, can be a bare filament (e.g. from Lycra) act, but also one wound with a twisted yarn Filament or around a so-called core yarn, in which a Elastomer thread is wound with cotton. Essential is that the elastomer filament at least one Contain or consist of continuous elastomeric thread got to. So at least there must be an elastomer filament core his.

The thread spun in this way is suitable as - sole - yarn for the production of elastic Knitwear, in particular stockings, tights and Socks where it fits particularly well and color equality matters, which is why so far on the Plating technology could not be dispensed with.
