Two cooling liquid screening elements (1) are positioned above a metal strip (2) by a positioning element (7) having an opposed similar positioning component perpendicular to the strip center plane (8) which extends perpendicular to the strip plane (4) and which intersects the strip plane (4) on the strip central axis (5). The positioning element (7) is located in the strip center plane (8). An Independent claim is also included for equipment for carrying out the above process.
