Definitions

  • the invention relates to a luminous image with at least one image carrier, a frame and a backlight.
  • Murals such as posters, art prints, photographs, etc., whose special decorative design is that a transparent image carrier is used with flat backlighting, are widespread. It is also known to attach individual light elements on the image carrier, which are related to the motif shown.
  • DE 297 14 705 proposes a light-emitting diode lighting for murals, art prints, etc., in which individual light-emitting diodes are either mounted on the back of a transparent image carrier or inserted into corresponding holes on the image carrier.
  • individual light-emitting diodes are either mounted on the back of a transparent image carrier or inserted into corresponding holes on the image carrier.
  • luminous images is disadvantageous that with individual, more or less point-like bulbs a flat backlighting of the image is not possible.
  • the targeted placement and wiring of individual lighting elements means a considerable manufacturing and cost. For the same reason, the total number of light elements that can be mounted on a picture with reasonable effort is limited to about 30 to 50.
  • the present invention has for its object to provide a light image for decorative purposes, which is characterized by an arrangement of individual on the subject-oriented lighting elements on the image carrier, the image with the least possible production cost to be produced and in particular to be dispensed with individual electric bulbs on the image carrier.
  • the translucent recesses may be drilled holes or through holes in the image carrier. This results in punctual, luminous picture elements whose diameter can be less than 1 mm but also several millimeters. Furthermore, it is possible to install linear or translucent cutouts on the image carrier. According to the invention, luminous images can be realized in which the already existing background lighting is used by means of the translucent recesses to introduce arbitrarily configurable punctual, linear or planar lighting elements in the image carrier. The production of such luminous images is to accomplish with minimal production costs. Since it is possible to completely dispense with individual electrical illuminants on the image carrier, the cost of production is minimal. Electric bulbs can be completely dispensed with if daylight is used for the backlight.
  • Flashing lights or chases can be realized with little effort on the image carrier by z.
  • the translucent recesses of moving, opaque masks are mechanically obscured. It is also conceivable to selectively illuminate the recesses alternately with a suitable illuminant.
  • the recesses For the color design of the luminous picture elements, it is expedient to provide the recesses with colored, transparent fillings.
  • luminous, fluorescent colors are suitable for this purpose.
  • quick-drying paints which close the recesses tight, without penetrating before curing in the image carrier material.
  • An advantageous optical effect can be achieved by fluorescing the transparent lacquer or phosphorescent dyes are added. In the latter case, there is an afterglow effect, which lasts for some time after the disappearance of the backlight.
  • the image carrier can be posters, photographs, art prints or nautical charts.
  • image carriers are usually made of translucent paper or cardboard, which is ideally suited for a lighting image according to the invention.
  • the above-mentioned image carrier can also be mounted on documents such as wood or hardboard. If a surface backlighting is desired, transparent materials such as acrylic or glass are suitable as documents.
  • a particularly impressive visual effect results in the luminous image according to the invention with extensive backlighting, when the image carrier is translucent in its surface areas outside of the recesses and consists of at least two identical image carrier layers, which are applied congruently one above the other on a translucent base.
  • the opacity of the dark pixels is increased, so that a significant improvement in the light-dark contrasts of the back-lit image is achieved.
  • the light intensity is uniformly reduced over the entire image area, so that the luminous pixels created by the translucent recesses are emphasized.
  • transparent substrates such as glass or acrylic are suitable as underlay for the image carriers.
  • Opaque translucent or opalescent underlays are particularly suitable, as it supports even backlighting.
  • a suitable for the luminous images according to the invention backlight can be realized by a light source, which is arranged in a box with light-reflecting inner walls.
  • a uniform backlight can be even if only a single bulb is used.
  • Cooperating with the white back of the image carrier results in the interior of the box, a multiple light reflection, so that the peripheral areas of the image are sufficiently illuminated.
  • the box can be designed such that its outer walls serve to framing the image carrier.
  • an image carrier is designated by the reference numeral 1, which consists of an at least partially translucent material, such as paper.
  • the image carrier 1 punctual on and through holes 2, z. B. introduced for the presentation of stones.
  • the image carrier 1 has flat recesses 3 in order to highlight the windows in the illustrated image motif.
  • a light source 5 is arranged, which z. B. can be designed as an energy-saving lamp.
  • the side walls 6 and the rear wall 7 of the box 4 are lined with metallic, light-reflecting film, so that the image carrier 1 is uniformly irradiated from behind.
  • a power cord 8 is led out to supply power to the light source 5 from the box 4.
  • a transparent base 9 This document consists for example of acrylic glass or glass, which may be opaque for better light distribution.
  • the image carrier 1 consists of two translucent image carrier layers 1a and 1b, which are applied congruently to one another on the translucent base 9, for example laminated on. This measure results in particularly intense light-dark contrasts and a significantly higher color saturation in the pictorial representation.
