Abstract

Descaling process for a metal strip comprises feeding the strip (1) in a transporting direction (x) from the front to the back of a rolling stand (2, 4); and spraying a descaling liquid (8) onto the metal strip from a descaling device (5) between the roll stands at a distance (a, b). The metal strip is moved around a forced direction from an adjusting element (3) across the transporting direction. The descaling device is tracked corresponding to the forced direction so that the working distance (a, b) is kept constant.
