Definitions
- the present invention relates to an elastic terminal comprising a clamping spring conductors, and a housing defined by walls to accommodate the spring, this being constituted by a support branch, a clamping branch and a loop connecting the support branch to the clamping branch, the support branch being applied to a support piece, the clamping wing comprising a window conductor clamping by wedging effect.
- Such an elastic terminal comprises a stop piece intended to limit the risk of buckling or breakage due to excessive deflection of the loop; the workpiece is fixed by means appropriately shaped in the spring.
- a stop piece is coupled to a branch of the spring, any movement communicated to the abutment part is reflected necessarily to the spring to which it is attached, which can be annoying in some cases.
- the realization of the spring or the introduction of the stop piece is relatively difficult.
- the object of the invention is to remedy the drawbacks of the arrangements made up to present to limit the travel of the elastic loop in terminals of the type described.
- Another purpose is to facilitate the creation of double connection terminals, that is to say terminals comprising two springs of the indicated type, placed side by side.
- the stop piece is arranged in the spring in a floating manner, and it has its lateral displacement restrained by at least one lateral wall of the housing.
- the elastic terminal may advantageously include two springs arranged side by side side by side in the same housing, the stop piece being common to the two springs.
- FIGS. 1 and 2 show a side view of an elastic terminal according to the invention, the spring being respectively illustrated in the deployed position and in the crushed.
- Figure 3 shows the stopper in side view.
- Figure 4 illustrates in perspective a double elastic terminal according to the invention.
- FIG. 5 is a top view of the double terminal of FIG. 4.
- the elastic connection terminal shown comprises a metal spring 1 of tightening of a conductor 2 or of several conductors 2 (see figure 2).
- the spring 1 is associated with a support part, here constituted by a conductive part 3 specific to an electrical appliance not shown, for example a switching appliance, a terminal block, terminal block or other similar electrical device.
- the spring is located in a housing 4 of the device which communicates with the outside towards the front (on the left in the figures) by openings not indicated by introduction conductors and tools.
- the spring 1 has a known shape, consisting of a support branch 10, a branch clamp 11 and an elastic loop 12.
- the support branch 10 rests on the conductive part 3 and it is connected to the clamping branch 11 by the loop elastic 12, while the clamping branch is directed approximately orthogonally to the support branch.
- the elastic loop 12 has a concave part 12a located between a front convex part 12b and a rear convex part 12c.
- the clamping branch 11 comprises a clamping window 13 by clamping effect for conductors 2, the loop exerting a prestress which tends to apply the lower edge 13a of the window (see FIG. 1) against the conductive part 3. It is understood that the conductors 2 must be clamped between this edge 13a and the face bottom of the conductive part 3 (see FIG.
- the spring is fixed to the part conductive 3 by sliding of the support branch 10 on this part, then blocking of one end of the support branch 10 in a hollow 3a of the part 3.
- the spring 1 can however be fixed in any other way to the part 3.
- a stop piece 20 for example in the form of a bean, intended to limit the deflection of the loop 12.
- the stop piece 20 has for particularity of being arranged in the spring in a floating manner, being clamped laterally, i.e. prevented from sliding laterally, by at least one wall side of the housing.
- the stop piece 20 can be full (see left part of the Figure 3) or hollow (see right side of Figure 3); it can be symmetrical and comprise two pins 21 facilitating its prepositioning, it being understood that the lateral support of the part 20 is produced by abutment of its lateral faces 22a, 22b against the sides or side walls 4a, 4b of the housing 4.
- the part 20 has an upper face 23, a front part 24 and a rear part 25.
- the face 23 has a concave shape which substantially matches the shape of the concave part adjacent 12a of the loop 12.
- the floating mounting of the part 20 allows it a certain clearance inside the spring 1.
- This clearance in particular present in the deployed position of the spring and translated by a spacing d between a part of the part 20 and an internal face of a convex part of the loop, preferably between the front part 24 and the front convex part 12b, is illustrated by the rest position of the part 20 indicated in dashes in FIG. 1, relative to a insertion position indicated by solid lines.
- the elastic terminal comprises two springs 1 and 1 'arranged side by side in a common housing 4 and on a part conductor 3 with two parallel branches, to allow connection of conductors respective; the floating-mount stop piece 20 is common to both springs and can abut against the walls 4a, 4b of the housing.
- This construction allows to crush one of the springs (for example 1 'as shown in figure 4) without react on the loop of the other spring (1).
