  • the present invention relates to a container for packaging and unwinding a coil of welding wire, which comprises a body for accommodating a circular coil of wire during the transportation and the unwinding of the coil, a cover at the upper end of the body, a bottom at the lower end of the body, a retainer device arranged inside the body on the coil for preventing accidental entanglement of the wire turn during the unwinding of the wire from an upper end of the coil, and a wire conduit device for the guidance of the wire out from the body during the unwinding.
  • the retainer device is placed on the top of the coil and has a smaller diameter than the internal diameter of the container so that it can freely descend in the container in contact with the coil as the height of said coil decreases as the wire is being unwound from the coil. This results in that a gap is created between the retainer device and said inner wall through which gap the wire, unwound from the coil, can pass.
  • a container and a coil retainer panel with a polygonal plan shape are described in WO 94/19258.   • Each hook 23 has a first part extending in the longitudinal direction of the body 4 and a second part extending in the transverse direction of the body.
  • the distance between the first parts of two opposite hooks 23 being greater than the distance between the inner walls 5b of two opposite side panels 5a of the body 4, but less than the distance between two opposite connection lines 5d between adjacent inner walls 5b of the body.
  • the first parts of the hooks 23 will abut against four different inner walls 5b of the side panels 5a of the body 4, preventing the lifting of turns of wire between the outermost ring 18 and the inner walls 5b of the body 4 and thus accidental entanglement of turns.
  • the metal wires 22 are also extended by hooks 32 at their free ends. Since the diameter of the ring 20 is small, it will prevent that more than one turn of the wire at the time will pass through the wire extraction opening.
  • each handle is made in the form of a long strip of cardboard which in the vicinity of one of its ends has a portion with a reduced width.

  • the lower end of the body is provided with eight tabs 28 that are fastened under the bottom panel 27 by means of glue for example.
  • the tabs 28 also form a part of the bottom 26.
  • a safety-anchor is punched out from a layer of the bottom panel 27 for securing the coil during the transportation by means of an elastic strap 30 that is connected both to the anchor 29 and two of the hooks 32 of the retainer device.
  • an outer feeder tube 31 for a welding station is connected to the nipple 11 by means of, for example, a quick coupling.
  • the invention is not limited to the embodiment described above but may be modified in a variety of different ways within the scope of the dependent claims.
  • the hooks 32 arranged at the free upper ends of the metal wires 22 can be removed and replaced by a bar lying over the innermost ring 20 of the retainer device during the transportation for securing the coil.
  • the strip forming the handle could be made without a portion with a reduced width.

Claims (12)

  1. Behälter (1) zum Verpacken und Abspulen einer Spule mit Schweissdraht (3), umfassend einen Körper (4) zur Unterbringung einer runden Drahtspule während des Transports und des Abspulens der Spule (2), eine Abdeckung (6) am oberen Ende des Körpers (4), einen Boden (26) am unteren Ende des Körpers, eine Haltevorrichtung (17), die im Innern des Körpers an der Spule angeordnet ist, um eine versehentliche Verwicklung der Drahtwicklungen während des Abspulens des Drahts von der Spule zu vermeiden und eine Drahtführungsvorrichtung (10) zum Führen des Drahts aus dem Körper während des Abspulens, wobei die Haltevorrichtung (17) einen inneren Teil (19, 20, 21) mit einer mittigen runden Drahtentnahmeöffnung und einen äusseren Teil mit einem runden Teil (18, 19, 21) besitzt, der auf der Spule (2) angeordnet ist, wobei aber seine äussere Begrenzungsfläche in einem Abstand von den Innenwänden (5b) der Seitenplatten (5a) des Körpers (4) angeordnet ist,
    dadurch gekennzeichnet, dass
    der Behälter (1) einen schachtelähnlichen Körper (4) besitzt, der Seitenplatten (5a) hat, die eine vieleckige Begrenzungsfläche bilden, dass die Haltevorrichtung (17) die Innenwände (5b) der Seitenplatten (5a) des Körpers (4) berührt, insbesondere während des Abspulens des Drahts, dass die Haltevorrichtung (17) genau gegenüberliegende Elemente (23) umfasst, die erste Teile an den Innenwänden (5b) besitzen, wobei der Abstand zwischen den ersten Teilen zwei gegenüberliegender Elemente (23) grösser ist als der Abstand zwischen den Innenwänden (5b) zweier genau gegenüberliegender Seitenplatten (5a), aber geringer als der Abstand zwischen zwei genau gegenüberliegenden Verbindungslinien (5d), die jeweils zwischen zwei benachbarten Innenwänden (5b) positioniert sind, dass die Abdeckung (6) flach ist und sowohl während des Transports als auch während des Abspulens des Drahts (3) oben auf dem Körper platziert ist und dass die Drahtführungsvorrichtung (10) während des Abspulens an der Abdeckung angeordnet ist.
  2. Behälter nach Anspruch 1, dadurch gekennzeichnet, dass die Drahtführungsvorrichtung (10) an der Abdeckung (6) und/oder dem Körper (4) angebracht ist.
  3. Behälter nach Anspruch 1 oder 2, dadurch gekennzeichnet, dass die Abdeckung (6) eine Deckplatte (7) und Seitenplatten (8) besitzt, die die gleiche vieleckige Begrenzungsfläche bilden wie die Seitenplatten (5a) des Körpers (4), die aber etwas grösser ist, wodurch ermöglicht wird, dass die Abdeckung über dem oberen Ende des Körpers angebracht wird.
  4. Behälter nach Anspruch 1, 2 und 3, dadurch gekennzeichnet, dass der innere Teil (19, 20, 22) der Haltevorrichtung (17) kegelstumpfförmig ist.
  5. Behälter nach Anspruch 4, dadurch gekennzeichnet, dass die Seitenplatten (5a) des Körpers (4) eine achteckige Begrenzungsfläche bilden und dass vier Elemente (23) mit vier unterschiedlichen Innenwänden (5b) der Seitenplatten (5a) während des Abspulens in Berührung stehen.
  6. Behälter nach einem der vorhergehenden Ansprüche, dadurch gekennzeichnet, dass die Drahtführungsvorrichtung ein erstes Element (11) umfasst, das an der Abdeckung (6) zum Führen des Drahts vom Innern des Körpers nach aussen angeordnet ist.
  7. Behälter nach Anspruch 6, dadurch gekennzeichnet, dass das erste Element die Form eines Nippels (11) besitzt, der so angepasst wird, dass er in ein Loch (12) in der Abdeckung (6) platziert wird.
  8. Behälter nach Anspruch 6 oder 7, dadurch gekennzeichnet, dass die Drahtführungsvorrichtung auch ein zweites Element (13, 14, 15, 16) zum Anbringen des ersten Elements an der Abdeckung (6) und/oder am Körper (4) während des Abspulens umfasst.
  9. Behälter nach Anspruch 8, dadurch gekennzeichnet, dass das zweite Element einen runden Teil (13, 14, 15) mit einer äusseren Begrenzungsfläche umfasst, der in einem Abstand von den Innenwänden der Seitenplatten (8) der Abdeckung (6) zum Stützen des ersten Elements (11) angeordnet ist und mindestens zwei Elemente (16), die von der äusseren Begrenzungsfläche zu den Innenwänden in Querrichtung der Abdeckung (6) verlaufen.
  10. Behälter nach Anspruch 9, dadurch gekennzeichnet, dass der runde Teil (13, 14, 15) des zweiten Elements so angeordnet ist, dass er gegen das Innere der Deckplatte (7) der Abdeckung (6) stösst, während seine Elemente (16) so angeordnet sind, dass sie sowohl gegen die Innenwände der Seitenplatten (8) der Abdeckung (6) als auch gegen das obere Ende der Aussenwände (5c) der Seitenplatten (5a) des Körpers (4) stossen, so dass das zweite Element und somit auch das erste Element den Körper während des Abspulens festhalten.
  11. Behälter nach einem der vorhergehenden Ansprüche, dadurch gekennzeichnet, dass zwei Halter (24) am Körper (4) angeordnet sind und dass jeder Halter in Form eines Streifens hergestellt ist, der so angeordnet ist, dass er entlang des grössten Teils einer der Seitenplatten (5a) des Körpers befestigt werden kann, so dass ein stabiler Halter entsteht.
  12. Behälter nach Anspruch 11, dadurch gekennzeichnet, dass der Streifen einen Teil mit einer reduzierten Breite besitzt, dass der Streifen so angeordnet ist, dass er in der Mitte dieses Teils gefaltet werden kann und dass der gefaltete Streifen entlang der Innenwand (5b) der Seitenplatte (5a) so angebracht ist, dass der Teil als der tatsächliche Halter dient.
