- Deflecting unit (10) for guided deflection of a belt (12) consisting in particular of plastic in a strapping machine (16), having a deflecting roller (20), a belt inlet channel (22) upstream of the deflecting roller (20), a belt outlet channel (24) downstream of the deflecting roller (20) and which can be adjusted in its position with respect to the belt inlet channel (22), and outer guiding means (26) arranged between belt inlet channel and belt outlet channel (22, 24) and opposite the outer periphery of the inner-lying deflecting roller (20) for guiding the belt (12), characterised in that the belt inlet channel (22) and the belt outlet channel (24) can be pivoted about in each case an axis (30) coinciding with the axis (30) of the deflecting roller (20) and can be adjusted into various pivoting positions relative to the deflecting roller (20) and in that the guiding means are formed by a flexible directing element (26) which bridges the gap between belt inlet channel and belt outlet channel (22, 24) in each pivoting position of belt inlet channel and belt outlet channel (22, 24) and forms a guide for the belt (12) with the deflecting roller (20).
- Deflecting unit according to claim 1, characterised in that the flexible directing element (26) is supported by one end (34) at the belt inlet channel (22) and by its other end (36) at the belt outlet channel (24).
- Deflecting unit according to claim 2, characterised in that the flexible directing element (26) is fixed by one end (34) at the outer side of the belt inlet channel (22) and is introduced into the belt outlet channel (24) by its other end (36).
- Deflecting unit according to one of claims 1-3, characterised in that the belt inlet channel (22) can be fixed in its particular pivoting position.
- Deflecting unit according to one of claims 1-4, characterised in that the belt outlet channel (24) is held resiliently in its particular pivoting position and can be deflected from the various pivoting positions in each case counter to a spring force (48).
- Deflecting unit according to one of claims 1-5, characterised in that the flexible directing element is formed by a sheet-metal deflector (26).
- Deflecting unit according to one of claims 1-6, characterised in that the belt inlet channel (22) is attached releasably to a support (40), which is mounted pivotably on the axis (30).
- Deflecting unit according to one of claims 1-7, characterised in that the belt outlet channel (24) is attached releasably to a support (44), which is mounted pivotably on the axis (30).
- Use of the deflecting unit (10) according to one of claims 1 to 8 in a strapping machine (16) having a strapping unit (14) and a belt store (18), and in which the deflecting unit (10) is arranged between the strapping unit (14) and the belt store (18).
