Description

The present invention is in the field of lighting and more particularly relates to a waterproof projector, which can be used for example on a stage of outdoor shows. This projector is designed so to change the color of the light emitted.

We know different kinds of projectors capable send a light beam which can be adjusted in intensity and which you can change color. This color change can be done using colored filters inserted in a beam of light white, filters that can be arranged in a crown or superimposed on each other. It is also possible to achieve with a set of filters and mirrors dichroic on the light beam. In practice all of these systems with its pros and cons are more or less effective when they work at inside. When you want to use these projectors not waterproof outside, solutions must be found to protect them from inclement weather without harming them performance. If you have floodlights, they will certainly be limited in their movements orientation due to interference with blankets provided for their own protection.

French patent FR 908.257 presents an apparatus intended underwater research and characterized by a underwater searchlight forming a whole closed, absolutely waterproof, effectively resistant to water pressure, even at great depths, and with great mechanical robustness.

American patent US-A-5651 606 relates to an apparatus to be used outside which is therefore exposed to the weather and used as a projector with high intensity light and as a spotlight adjustable to highlight buildings and others constructions.

The present invention tends to overcome these difficulties. It has a waterproof projector and therefore may be subject to inclement weather, which may change colors because of the filter set it has and the power supply system independent for each of the bulbs it includes.

The present invention relates to a waterproof projector comprising at least a series of three bulbs placed on a circle with their respective filters and their power supply system placed inside a shell-shaped frame made up of two parts, a front part with a bore placed in front of each bulb and closed by a glass made integral with this front piece and another rear piece, both pieces being connected via an O-ring sealing; a cable gland being placed on the part rear of the shell allows the passage of cables for the power supply of the electrical system, having a rod fixing, characterized in that it comprises a bulb central unit which emits yellow or white light, the light beams emitted by the bulbs and the bulb central being substantially parallel.

In a preferred embodiment, the filters relating to bulbs are alternately red, green and blue. In this execution mode, the projector can contain advantageously two sets of three bulbs, the filters are slightly more tinted from series to the other. These filters are placed behind the glasses between the glasses and each bulb so that the beams bright be colorful.

The two parts of the shell are tightened advantageously with fixing screws which collaborate to press the O-ring between said parts.

To facilitate tightening inside the bulbs collaborate with their sockets which are housed in a base which leans against a separation plate of two parts, the plate supported by the back piece of the shell; the base and the plate are fixed by screws the back piece of the shell.

In a preferred embodiment the projector has a compact shape, it can be advantageously an ovoid or a sphere.

It includes a fixing rod with a ball at its head whose tightening is carried out by means of screws and a round base which follows the shape of the patella.

In another embodiment the power cables electric can pass through the ball joint of the rod, which avoids having the cable gland in the part back of the shell.

It is also possible to replace the ball joint at the head of the rod by a set of screws and nut with a ring sealing.

The accompanying drawing shows by way of example not limiting a preferred embodiment of the object of the present invention as well as a variant to this first.

  • In the drawing,
  • FIG. 1 represents a longitudinal section of the headlamp, showing the arrangement of the main components in a variant with a double ball joint rod,
  • FIG. 2 is a front view of the projector with twice 3 white bulbs forming a circle and provided with color filters which are in front of the corresponding bulbs, this view shows us the presence of a central bulb,
  • FIG. 3 shows another variant of the rod with a ball joint at one end and a screw and nut pair at the other.
In Figure 1 shell 1 is made up of two parts, a front part 2 and a rear part 3. The front part which accommodates in the bores 4 the filters of color 5, held by a spring ring 6 and a glass waterproof 7. The waterproof glasses 7 which serve to protect the filters 5 are attached to the front part 2 by seals silicone glue 8. Filters 5 and glasses watertight 7 are in line with the bulbs 9. The bulbs 9 are supported by the pressure of the front part 2 and plugged into the power sockets 10. The supply sockets 10 are housed in a base 11 which follows their forms leaving only the electrical contacts to power the bulbs 9. A the back of the base 11 is a plate 12 which allows retain the sockets 10 and press them against the base 11. The plate 12 has a hole 13 in the axis of the sockets 10 to allow the passage of electrical wires not shown in the drawing. The screws 14 allow retain the base 11 and the plate 12 against the part rear 3. The front part 2 is held against the part rear 3 by tightening the screws 15 in the base 11. A O-ring 16 is located at the end and on the around the rear part 3. The O-ring 16 allows a seal between the front part 2 and the part rear 3. Front part 2 comes to crush the O-ring 16 against the rear part 3. Crushing the seal O-ring 16 is carried out by screws 15. Rings 17 are find at the rear of the heads of the screws 15 for the sealing of the front part 2. The rings 17 are crushed by tightening the screws 15 against the front part 2. On the rear part 3 we see a watertight cable gland 18 which allows the passage of electrical cables for supply the electrical sockets 10. The cable gland waterproof 18 is screwed into the rear part 3 and also includes a ring 19 which allows the sealing of the cable gland 18 with the rear part 3. The ring 19 is crushed by the sealed cable gland 18 against the workpiece rear 3. A rod with double ball joints 20 makes it possible to move the rear part 3 on all axes. This rod ball joints 20 comes to marry its housing in a similar shape in part 3. The ball joint 21 is tightened by screws 22 and a round base 23 which follows the shape of the patella 21. It is possible to have a passage to through the rod 20 and its ball joints 21, 21a by the cables to replace the use of the cable gland waterproof 18. Note that if you pass the electric cables by the rod 20 and its ball joints 21, 21a, it is mandatory to have a waterproof device similar to the previous ones, not shown in the drawing which would seal the ball joint 21 with the part rear 3. At the other end of the rod the ball joint 21a is is housed in the base 24 which allows, so similar to rear part 3, to be able to move the ball joint 21a in all axes. The tightening of the ball joint 21a is carried out by screws 25 which pass through the round ring 26 and are screwed into the base 24. The round ring 26 and the base 24 allow a good tightening since they perfectly match the shape of the ball joint 21a. The holes 27 allow the base 24 to be fixed to a wall or all other flat surfaces. It is also possible to have a waterproof device in the base 24 to allow the passage of the electric cables in the rod 20 and its ball joints 21, 21a, which again would prevent use of the sealed cable gland 18. This embodiment without cable gland is not covered by the claims but is part of the state of the art and is useful for understanding of the invention.

In figure 2 we can appreciate a view of front of the projector with the front part 2 and with the bulbs 9 in the axes of bores 4 and which are in a configuration around a circle perimeter. In the same axes of the bores 4 we can define the sockets 10 and the position of the filters 5 and the watertight glasses 7 that are found in Figure 1. We also note the screws 15 which allow the tightening of the front part 2 against the rear part 3 as well as the central bulb 9a.

In Figure 3, an alternative rod is shown 20a including the upper head which collaborates with the part rear 3 of shell 1 is composed of a screw 28 with its nut 29. Tightening occurs by crushing a sealing ring 30. If this rod configuration 20a, the orientation of the projector there it must be done exclusively using the ball joint 21a housed in base 24a.

Ultimately, the projector 1 composed of six bulbs 9 with their respective 5 color filters and their individual power systems allows with the collaboration of current regulators to adjust the light intensity of the beams which will pass through filters 5 including basic colors red, green and blue can be arranged with shades of hues. Through example, if there are two sets of three green red filters and blue, one game could be darker than the other, by way that the projector can provide a sample of very varied colors. We must also mention the effect additional brightness increase provided by the central bulb 9a which in the specific case has no filtered.
