Description

The present invention relates generally to the frames of "semi-ice" type glasses, that is to say glasses frames which, at the like those sold under the trade name "Nylor", have, for each of their circles or circles, a rigid part and a strapping wire which extends from one to the other of the ends of this part rigid (see for example FR-A-2 499 442).

For the grip of the strapping wire on the glass to be mounted in such a circle or surrounding, it is necessary to machine a groove on the edge of this glass.

In practice, this groove extends continuously over the entire glass, and the rigid part of the circles or surrounds of the spectacle frame present, protruding, a bead, commonly called a mattress, by which it is itself adapted to be inserted in this groove, in the interval left free by the strapping wire.

To date, for determining the trajectory of the groove on the edge of the glass during the machining of this groove, only is taken into account, for the corresponding control of the grooving machine then implemented, the shape of the glass, that is to say the shape of the outline of this glass, this shape being in practice apprehended by a contour reading on a flat template having the proper shape.

In practice, too, it is then simply made so that the groove made remains within the edges of the glass edge.

Most often, this groove is, to do this, systematically performed at a fixed distance from one of the two faces of the glass, or at mid-distance between these two faces.

The groove thus produced follows, at best, the camber specific to the glass.

If, by its very flexibility, the strapping wire is satisfied with this camber, by adapting itself to it, it is obviously not even of the rigid part of the circles or surrounds of the spectacle frame.

In fact, this rigid part itself has a manufacturing certain camber, which is not necessarily the same as that of ascend.

So when possible, that is, when the mount glasses are suitable, and this is the case for example when this frame of glasses are made of metal, the practitioner must, during assembly, apply a dead reckoning some twist to the rigid part of the circles or entourages of this frame glasses, in order to best adapt the camber of this rigid part to that of the groove on the glass to be mounted.

By itself, this twist is difficult to perform, and it is difficult to control.

As a corollary, if the practitioner does not perform this twist, or if it is impossible because the spectacle frame does not lend itself to it, the holding the glass in the circle or circle in which it was mounted is bad assured, and the overall aesthetic is generally not completely satisfactory.

The present invention generally relates to a provision to overcome this difficulty.

More specifically, it relates to a process for the determination of the trajectory of the groove to be machined on the edge of a glass intended to equip a spectacle frame comprising, for each of its circles or surrounds, a rigid part and a strapping wire which extends from one at the other of the ends of this rigid part, this process being of a generally characterized in that for the portion of the trajectory of the groove corresponding to the rigid part concerned of the spectacle frame, we systematically take into account the camber of the useful portion of this rigid part.

Thus, for the portion of its trajectory corresponding to the rigid part of the spectacle frame, the groove follows at best, even perfectly, the camber specific to this rigid part, instead of following that of the glass, being understood that, for the results to be satisfactory, these two camber must obviously be compatible.

Therefore, the mattress provided for this purpose on this rigid part can fit exactly, and over its entire length, in the groove of the glass, at benefit of holding it.

As a corollary, for the portion of its trajectory corresponding to the wire of strapping, the groove is produced in the usual manner.

Preferably, however, it is ensured that, within the limits authorized by the camber of the glass and by the thickness of the latter, this groove by itself corresponds to a minimum camber, so that, thus following the shortest possible trajectory, the strapping wire is itself stretched better, again, the benefit of holding the glass.

Anyway, due to the arrangement according to the invention, the groove made on the edge of the glass, overall, two portions distinct in appearance with respect to each other, that is, a portion which, corresponding to the rigid part of the spectacle frame, is more or less wavy, and a portion which, corresponding to the strapping wire, is substantially straight.

Of course, it is made so that these two portions of the groove carried out in continuity with each other, by connecting tangentially to each other, to avoid any distortion at the points of corresponding connections.

  • la figure 1 est une vue partielle en élévation d'une monture de lunettes de type «semi-glace» à laquelle est destinée l'invention, vue de l'arrière, avec un verre en place dans celui de ses cercles ou entourages qui est représenté ;
  • les figures 2 et 3 sont, à échelle supérieure, des vues partielles en coupe transversale de l'ensemble, suivant, chacune respectivement, les lignes II-II et III-III de la figure 1 ;
  • The characteristics and advantages of the invention will become apparent from the description which follows, by way of example, with reference to the appended schematic drawings in which:
  • FIG. 1 is a partial elevation view of a spectacle frame of the “semi-ice” type for which the invention is intended, seen from the rear, with a glass in place in that of its circles or entourages which is represented ;
  • Figures 2 and 3 are, on a larger scale, partial cross-sectional views of the assembly, along, each respectively, the lines II-II and III-III of Figure 1;
  • FIG. 4 is a block diagram showing, schematically, the trajectory of the groove present on the edge of the glass, assumed to be developed flat.
  • Tel qu'illustré sur ces figures, et de manière connue en soi, la monture de lunettes 10 à laquelle est plus particulièrement destinée l'invention, comporte, pour chacun de ses cercles ou entourages 11, à la manière des montures de lunettes de type «semi-glace», une partie rigide 12 et un fil de cerclage 13 qui s'étend de l'une à l'autre des extrémités E1, E2 de cette partie rigide 12.As illustrated in these figures, and in a manner known per se, the spectacle frame 10 to which the invention is more particularly intended, comprises, for each of its circles or surrounds 11, in the manner of spectacle frames of the type "Semi-ice" means a rigid part 12 and a strapping wire 13 which extends from one to the other of the ends E 1 , E 2 of this rigid part 12.

Such a spectacle frame 10 being well known in itself, it will not be described in full detail here.

It will suffice to indicate that, in the embodiment shown, the rigid part 12 of its circles or surrounds 11 comprises two parts, duly secured to each other, namely, on the one hand, a front bar 14, which, for example, is in one piece with the trigger guard 15 of the assembly and carries the knuckles 16 necessary for the articulation of a branch, and, on the other hand, a gallery 18, to which the strapping wire 13 is attached.

For example, the front bar 14 is made of synthetic material, and the gallery 18 is made of metal.

The manner in which the strapping wire 13 is coupled to the gallery 18 are also well known by themselves, and they will not be therefore also not described here.

For mounting a glass 20 in either of the circles or surrounds 11 of such a spectacle frame 10 of the “semi-ice” type, it is necessary to machine, on the edge 21 of this glass 20, a groove 22 suitable for allow the grip of the strapping wire 13 on it.

As already indicated above, this groove 22 extends in practice continuously all around the glass 20, and the rigid part 12 has, itself, projecting, in the manner of a bead, a mattress 24 by which it is it also adapted to be inserted in the groove 22, in the space left free by the strapping wire 13 between its ends E 1 , E 2 .

    Dans la forme de réalisation représentée, le matelas 24 appartient évidemment à la galerie 18.In the embodiment shown, the mattress 24 belongs obviously at gallery 18.

For example, and as shown, this gallery 18 has, in section transverse, a U-shaped profile, and the mattress 24 is formed by a tongue inserted in this gallery 18.

In a manner known per se, finally, the groove 22 is produced by machining, with using a grooving machine.

In practice, initially formed by a circular contour puck, the glass 20 is cut out beforehand, so that it is given the final form wanted for him.

To do this, a contour reading is carried out on this shape, for example using a flat template.

In practice, too, the glass 20 has a certain camber, with, overall, a curvature in each of two orthogonal planes, and, likewise, the rigid part 12 of the circles or surrounds 11 of the frame of glasses 10 to be fitted also has a certain camber, which is not not necessarily the same as the previous one.

For glass 20, the camber can be characterized by the bases B, B ' of its faces, that is to say by the base B of its front face 25 and by the base B 'of its rear face 25 '.

As we know, these bases B, B 'are defined by the following formulas: B = not - 1 R B '= not - 1 R ' in which R and R 'are the radii of the faces 25, 25' concerned and n the refractive index.

By extension, the camber of the rigid part 12 of the circles or surrounds 11 of a spectacle frame 10 can be characterized by the equivalent of such a base, i.e. by a quantity inversely proportional to the radius of the sphere on which the mattress fits 24.

According to the invention, for determining the trajectory of the groove 22 to be machined on the edge 21 of a lens 20 intended to equip a frame of glasses 10 of the “semi-ice” type, and, more precisely, for the portion of the trajectory of this groove 22 corresponding to the rigid part 12 concerned with this spectacle frame 10, we systematically take into account the camber of the useful portion of this rigid part 12.

When, as in this case, the rigid part 12 of the mounting of glasses 10 has a mattress 24, the useful portion of this rigid part 12 which the camber is taken into account is preferably this mattress 24.

It may indeed turn out that, on this rigid part 12, the mattress 24 has a trajectory from which it follows that its own camber is not identical to that of the remaining portion of this rigid part 12.

For example, according to a first form of implementation of the invention, we take into account, for the control of the grooving machine put implemented, in addition to the results of a bearing contour reading, as before, on the shape of the glass 20, a parameter linked to the camber of the useful portion of the rigid part 12 of the spectacle frame 10.

    Préférentiellement, le paramètre ainsi pris en compte est une grandeur inversement proportionnelle au rayon de la sphère sur laquelle s'inscrit la portion utile de la partie rigide 12 de la monture de lunettes 10, c'est-à-dire son matelas 24.Preferably, the parameter thus taken into account is a quantity inversely proportional to the radius of the sphere on which the useful portion of the rigid part 12 of the spectacle frame 10, that is to say his mattress 24.

In other words, according to this first form of implementation of the invention, the practitioner, after reading the outline relating to the shape of the glass 20 indicates, with the grooving machine, the position, on the circle or surrounding 11 concerned, of the rigid part 12 thereof, and the base of this rigid part 12.

As a variant, according to another form of implementation of the invention, we take into account, for the control of the grooving machine used, in addition, as before, the results of a contour reading relating to the shape of the glass 20, the results of a contour reading bearing on the useful portion of the rigid part 12 of the spectacle frame 10, that is to say on the mattress 24 of this rigid part 12, and specifying the position of this with respect to the glass 20.

In other words, according to this second form of implementation, more automated, of the invention, the practitioner performs two contour readings, one which relates to a template for measuring the shape of the glass 20, and one which on the rigid part 12 of the spectacle frame 10, and, more precisely, on the mattress 24 of this rigid part 12, for the measurement of its camber and the statement of its position.

In both cases, the ends E 1 , E 2 of the rigid part 12 of the spectacle frame 10 are also identified, and the grinding machine used is piloted accordingly, providing it the coordinates of these ends E 1 , E 2 .

    Dans l'un et l'autre cas, également, la machine à rainurer, dûment programmée à cet effet, calcule ensuite d'elle-même la trajectoire T de la rainure 22 sur la tranche 21 du verre 20.In either case, also, the grooving machine, duly programmed for this purpose, then calculates the trajectory T of the groove 22 on the edge 21 of the glass 20.

Preferably, for the portion of this trajectory T corresponding with the strapping wire 13, we make sure, by the corresponding programming, that, within the limits authorized by the camber of the lens 20, that is to say in the limits authorized by the bases B, B 'of its front faces 25 and rear 25', as well as within the limits authorized by the thickness e of this glass 20, this portion of the trajectory T corresponds, by itself, to a camber minimum, so that, as already indicated above, the strapping wire 13 thus benefit from the shortest possible trajectory and therefore be thus more easily stretched.

According to the invention, and as already emphasized above, the path T of the groove 22, and, therefore, this groove 22 itself, thus comprise, successively, two portions T 1 , T 2 distinct in shape different, as shown in the block diagram of FIG. 4 on which this trajectory T is given as a function of the angle  made by, with any reference axis OX, FIG. 1, the radius r of each of the successive points of the groove 22.

The portion T 1 , which corresponds to the rigid part 12 of the circle or surrounding 11 concerned, and which therefore extends from one to the other of the ends E 1 , E 2 of this rigid part 12, is generally wavy, by presenting for example two maxima and two minima.

On the other hand, the portion T 2 , which corresponds to the strapping wire 13, is itself substantially straight, while for example being able to be very slightly bent.

Of course, these two portions T 1 , T 2 of the path T of the groove 22 are in continuity with one another, preferably connecting tangentially to one another, depending, for example, on '' a polynomial curve duly established for this purpose.

In the block diagram of FIG. 4, have also been indicated, in broken lines, images I, I 'of the front 25 and rear 25' sides of the lens 20 in terms of its form, that is to say, in practice, in terms of its slice.

I, I'.As will be noted, the maxima and minima of the portion T 1 of the path T of the groove 22 do not exactly coincide with those of these images I, I '.

Of course, the present invention is not limited to the forms of placing described and shown, but includes any variant according to the claims.
