Schutzstecker für eine Einrichtun der Telekommunikationstechnik Protective plug for a device of telecommunication technology
Technisches GebietTechnical field
The invention relates to a protective plug for a device in telecommunications technology according to the preamble of patent claim 1.
Protective plugs are usually used to protect electronic components and devices, which are connected to mostly power or block-shaped connecting devices of telecommunications technology, against excessive electrical currents and / or overvoltage, which can be plugged in or plugged into an open side of the housing of the connecting device and have the components required for protection. The protective plugs are usually designed for the protection of one pair. This means that they tap in pairs the adjacent contacts of the incoming and outgoing side and connect them electrically to the protective components.
Stand der TechnikState of the art
A protective plug according to the preamble of claim 1 is known from EP 0 405 337 A2 and has a housing, a plurality of tapping contacts, an earth contact and a plurality of wired components. The contacts are designed as strip-shaped sheet metal elements, in the clamping slot of which a wire of the wired component is clamped in each case. The wired components are arranged above the contacts, so that the known protective plug has a comparatively large overall height. In the protective plug according to DE 39 09 783 Cl, the tapping contacts are formed on a printed circuit board which, in the attached state, is inserted between the contact tabs of the contacts of the associated terminal strip, which contacts are in the form of isolating contacts. The conductor track picks up the contacts on the incoming and outgoing side and conducts the current via wired protective components that are soldered to the circuit board. Even the use of a circuit board for tapping the contacts of the connection device is disadvantageous, since a circuit board is always subject to the risk that the individual layers separate from one another. In addition, soldering the individual wired components onto the printed circuit board means a considerable manufacturing outlay. Finally, these extend largely perpendicular to the circuit board. They are arranged on the top of the circuit board and lead to the fact that this known protective plug requires a comparatively large housing. This means that a considerable amount of space is required in the area of the terminal strip above the contacts.
In the protective plug known from EP 0 471 167 AI, a three-pole surge arrester, which is not wired, is connected to a printed circuit board via a sheet metal part arranged between them. This can reduce the space requirement when using a non-wired surge arrester. However, this known protective plug is still disadvantageous in terms of production costs due to the need for a printed circuit board.
Die DE 31 13 759 C2 zeigt eineFrom DE 38 13 889 Cl a protective plug with non-wired protective components is known, in which the electrodes of the protective components are connected to contacts which tap the contacts of the terminal block. The arrangement shown is not suitable for the use of wired components. DE 31 13 759 C2 shows one
Although no printed circuit board is used in this known arrangement, this is in need of improvement in economic terms due to the required interposition of clamps.
Darstellung der ErfindungPresentation of the invention
The invention has for its object to provide a protective plug for a device in telecommunications technology, which is simple in construction and can be produced with little effort and through which at the same time reliable protection can be achieved for those components and devices which are connected downstream of the connecting device provided with the protective plug are.
This object is achieved by the protective plug described in claim 1.
The contacts of the protective plug which grip the contacts of the connection device are designed as largely strip-shaped sheet metal elements. These each have at least one clamping or contact slot, in each of which a wire of a wired component is clamped. As a result, the wired component is directly connected in an electrically conductive manner to the contact of the protective plug. In other words, no circuit board is required for the connection between the contacts of the connection device and the protective components accommodated in the protective plug. Rather, the protective plug has the strip-shaped and thus simply designed sheet metal elements described as tapping contacts, in the clamping slots of which the wires of the used, wired protective components are jammed. The clamp receptacles known in the prior art or other connecting elements between the tapping contacts and the protective components are therefore also unnecessary. As a result, the protective plug according to the invention is extremely simple overall and is composed of a few and simply designed individual parts. The arrangement according to the invention also has the consequence that the protective plug can be made extremely small in terms of its dimensions, so that the space requirement in the state that the plug is plugged onto the device of the telecommunications technology is small.
The use of strip-shaped sheet metal elements as tapping contacts has the essential advantage over the conventionally used printed circuit boards that the current-carrying contacts can be made solid. A massive design of these conductors, that is to say the establishment of a certain line cross section, is necessary for guiding the currents that occur. For technical reasons, the contact tracks on the printed circuit boards used hitherto can only be made comparatively thin, so that the current-carrying cross section is thereby greatly limited. The use of strip-shaped sheet metal elements with which the wires of the wired components are directly connected in an electrically conductive manner results in an advantageous solid design of these conductors.
Otherwise, the protective plug according to the invention is not limited to an embodiment which serves to protect electronic components and devices which are connected to a connection device by means of a single, specific double wire. Rather, the structure described above can also be used to implement a so-called multi-core protective plug which is equipped with those components which are required for the protection of electronic devices or components which have more than one Different pairs are connected to the connection device to be provided with the protective plug. In this case, the protective plug could also be referred to as a magazine due to the inclusion of the protective components for several double wires. However, it is preferred that the protective plug according to the invention has two tapping contacts or two pairs of tapping contacts, so that it is designed for protecting a single pair.
In the protective plug according to the invention, the strip-shaped tapping contacts run parallel at least in sections. The wired components are arranged between the parallel tapping contacts. By defining two levels in the protective plug according to the invention through the parallel tapping contacts, a simple and clear arrangement of the protective components is made possible. In particular, the tapping contacts define two levels, one level for tapping the incoming conductors and one level for tapping the outgoing conductors. All protective components are arranged between these two levels. This arrangement is extremely space-saving. In particular, the dimension of the protective plug and the space required for its attachment can be considerably reduced compared to the commonly used attachment "on" a printed circuit board.
Advantageous developments of the protective plug according to the invention are described in the further claims.
For the equipment with the protective components, it is preferred for the protective plug according to the invention that it has current protection, preferably in the form of a thermal resistor, and / or an overvoltage protection in the form of a gas arrester and / or overvoltage fine protection, preferably in the form of a fine protection diode or a solid State arrester, on ice. Such an electronic collector advantageously has a narrow response tolerance. Through the The components described or their combination with one another can advantageously provide protection both against excessive currents and against overvoltages.
Although the orientation of the wires of the wired components to the plane of the strip-shaped contacts is arbitrary, it is preferred that they are clamped into the respective contact slots in an orientation perpendicular to the plane of the strip-shaped contacts. This results in a problem-free, reliable and electrically conductive connection between the wired components and the respective contacts.
For the formation of the contact slots in the tapping contacts, it has proven to be advantageous to make them slightly tapered. This ensures that the areas of the tapping contacts delimiting the contact slot bend at the most at the end of the insertion movement of the wires of the wired components, so that a gentle insertion movement is achieved, the tight and reliable connection of the wire in the contact slot of the tapping contact due to the tapering Shape of the contact slot is ensured.
For the contact slots formed in the strip-shaped contacts, it has proven to be advantageous to form a slot-like recess adjacent to the two contact legs, which delimit the respective contact slot. As a result, the contact limbs delimiting the contact slot can deflect resiliently, so that the strip-shaped contact as a whole is not curved at this point when a wire is inserted into a contact slot. Due to the described cutouts on the side of the contact legs, these can be deflected into the respective cutout without influencing the overall shape of the strip-shaped contact. The same purpose is achieved in the alternative embodiment, in which the contact in the vicinity of the contact limbs delimiting the contact slot is set back in terms of its width. In this case, too, the contact legs can rebound.
In particular at the ends of the tapping contacts, it is preferred for the contact slots formed in this area that they are delimited by contact limbs which extend in the width direction beyond the width of the contact formed in the adjacent area of the contact. In this way, the described mobility for the contact legs can also be achieved with a simple shape of the contact that is created.
For fixing the tapping contacts in the housing of the protective plug, it is advantageous if the contacts have a shoulder formed by a double bend with which they are supported in the housing or in one housing half.
For the fixing of the strip-shaped tapping contacts in the housing, there are advantages if the housing or the housing halves forming the housing have guide channels for this. For a reliable fixing of the contacts in the housing, at least one clamping rib can also be provided in the respective guide channel.
Herstellung der in dem Schutzstecker befindlichen Abgreifkontakte .The strip-shaped contacts of the protective plug according to the invention can be designed in a particularly simple manner in that at least one contact is at least simply bent, as a result of which the different levels of the contacts between which the protective components can be arranged can advantageously be defined. In the event that the contacts are bent several times, all the bending edges of a contact can be aligned parallel to one another according to the invention. This makes it easier Production of the tapping contacts located in the protective plug.

A wire 34 of the blocking diode 26 is clamped into the contact slot 40 formed at the upper end of the contact 14. Adjacent to the contact slot 38 and in the case shown on the other longitudinal edge of the contact 14, punched-out, slot-like recesses 42 are formed. These cut-outs 42 give the contact 14 increased elasticity, so that the contact limbs 44 delimiting the contact slot 38 can yield resiliently. The recesses 42 can also be formed from the same edge to which the contact slot opens, so that they can rebound in the same way, and in certain applications compared to the embodiment shown, a change in length of the strip-shaped contact is avoided overall.
Gemäß Fig. 2 oberhalb des KontaktSchlitzes 38 ist der Kontakt 14 hinsichtlich seiner Breite schmäler gestaltet, wobei sich am oberen Ende des Kontakts 14 zwei Kontaktschenkel 44 über die in diesem Bereich geringe Breite des Kontakts 14 hinauserstrecken, so daß sie beim Einführen des Drahtes 34 der Feinschutzdiode 26 ebenfalls ein wenig ausgelenkt werden können .2 above the contact slot 38, the contact 14 is narrower in terms of its width, with two contact limbs 44 extending beyond the narrow width of the contact 14 in this area at the upper end of the contact 14, so that they extend when the wire 34 is inserted Fine protection diode 26 can also be deflected a little.
The associated contact 16 shown on the right next to the contact 14 in FIG. 2 has a similar design with regard to the contact slot 38 for the clamping of the second wire 28 of the thermal resistor 22 and the contact slot 46 for the leg 30 of the gas arrester 24. In particular, the contact slot 46 provided for clamping the leg 30 is formed at the upper end of the contact 16.
13On the earth spring 18 shown in the middle in the plan view in FIG. 2, on the one hand the contact slot 48 for the middle leg 32 of the gas conductor 24 is formed. The on 13
This also applies to the recesses 42 formed in the upper region of the earth spring 18, to each of which a contact leg 44 is formed adjacent, which together with the contact leg 44 provided at the upper end of the earth spring 18 has a respective contact slot 50 for the leg shown on the left in FIG. 1 34 of the blocking diode 26 limited.
As can be seen from FIG. 2 in connection with FIG. 1, according to the three contact planes provided in the plug 10, the earth spring 18 is arranged in front of the contacts 16 and 14 according to the illustration in FIG. 2. Furthermore, the contact 16 is arranged in front of the contact 14. If one now mentally shifts the two contacts 14, 16 to the right as shown in FIG. 2, that the left edges of all contacts 14, 16, 18 in accordance with FIG. 2 are aligned with one another, and the resulting arrangement then as shown in FIG 2 viewed from the right, the arrangement of said contacts shown in FIG. 1 results from one another. In the final state, as can be seen in FIG. 1, the blocking diode 26 extends in the upper region between the contact slot 50 of the earth spring 18 and the contact slot 40 of the contact 14. In the upper contact slot 46 of the contact 16 this is according to FIG. 1 the upper leg 30 of the gas discharge tube 24 is clamped, the middle leg 32 of which is clamped in the contact slot 48 of the earth spring 18. Finally, the thermal resistor 22 with its wires 28 on both sides is connected between the respective contact slots 38 of the two contacts 14, 16.

Contact 16, 52 provided clamping slot 38 is not required.
In the lower part of FIG. 4 it is indicated how the tapping contacts 16, 52 extend into the separating area of the contacts of a terminal strip 56 drawn with dash-dotted lines. The tapping contacts 16, 52 tap the voltage applied to the contacts of the terminal block 56, so that this is also applied to the surge arrester 24. If a certain maximum voltage is exceeded, the gas arrester 24 conducts the electrical energy via its central leg 32 to the earth spring 18, the corresponding clamping slot of which is roughly designed as shown in FIG. 2 for the earth spring 18. In the exemplary embodiment shown, what is not necessarily necessary, the lower region of the earth spring 18 is turned over and inserted with this region into an earth rail 58 indicated in FIG. 4. In the case shown, this earth rail 58 is provided with a plurality of holes or recesses, into each of which the lower sections of the plurality of protective plugs 10 are inserted and are connected to the earth rail 58 in an electrically conductive manner. Alternatively, as mentioned at the beginning, the protective plug 10 according to the invention can be designed to protect a plurality of two-core wires.
