Description

Objets de l'inventionObjects of the invention

The present invention relates to a safety device to be mounted on a firearm, which is presented in the form of a "kit".

The present invention also relates to a semi-automatic single action type firearm such as a pistol, provided with this device.

Arrière-plan technologique et état de la techniqueTechnological background and state of the art

We already know security devices for a firearm preventing the unintended percussion of the gun dog. These safety devices are two types.

For single action type firearms, the dog can be locked in the rear position, which nevertheless exposes it in the event of a fall. This system presents therefore the disadvantage of causing degradations in mechanisms at the dog and trigger or the inadvertent departure of a bullet during a fall of the weapon.

Another safety device for handgun single action type fire is described in the document US-A-5208406, in which only the upper part of the dog is manually rotated forward in a safety position which prevents it from hitting the striker. This is done by pressing the dog. However, the dog is not blocked or locked in this position which leaves a risk for example during a fall.

Une arme à feu de ce type est décrite dans le document EP-A1-0550238.The firearm can also be of the type double action. In this case, the safety position of the dog is the forward position. The first part of the trigger stroke causes the dog backwards and the second part of the race allows you to shoot by releasing the dog forward towards the striker. In this case stroke is longer, and therefore the shooting time is all the more important. We also observe that the effort to apply on the trigger is particularly important. On the other hand, there remains a doubt for the user on the position of the dog when it pulls the trigger. A weapon to fire of this type is described in document EP-A1-0550238.

It has also been proposed, with a view to reducing the effort to be applied to the trigger to arm the dog, in document US-A-4312263, a firearm in which the trigger is blocked by pushing the dog forward. In this position, a safety ring also allows you to lock the slide. For unlock the gun security it takes everything first arm the dog by acting on the trigger (first action) and then continue to press it to trigger the shot (second action).

Likewise, documents US-A-5166458 and EP-A2-0801285 describe devices for protection which reduces the effort to be applied on the trigger to cock the gun. In this case, the dog contains a snap spring plunger without locking, on the cams of the dog ring.

Buts de l'inventionAims of the invention

The object of the present invention is to provide a rapid safety device in the form of a kit to be assembled on a semi-automatic type firearm such as a pistol, as well as the firearm itself comprising said security device, which would not exhibit the disadvantages of the state of the art.

The present invention aims more particularly to offer a safety device intended primarily for use on handguns simple action, allowing to obtain a precise shot which does not require a change of trigger position between the first and subsequent shots while holding the protective qualities of double action weapons.

Another object of the present invention is to propose a device which, with a single movement, allows to lock the firing of the weapon, and which likewise, by a single movement, releases the lock, this without pressing the trigger, in order to place the firearm in a configuration ready to fire.

Another object of the present invention is to offer a safety device in the form of a kit, which relatively easy to adapt to a type of weapon particular while keeping the initial structure of a firearm already in service, without having to resort to a additional machining of the weapon concerned or parts la component for mounting the kit.

Le levier d'armement 17 est poussé vers le haut par l'action de son ressort 20 et retenu au niveau de son index en "B" par le levier de "safety fast shooting" 16, qui est bloqué contre le chien en "C".The cocking lever 17 is pushed towards the high by the action of its spring 20 and retained at the level of its index at "B" by the "safety fast shooting" lever 16, which is blocked against the dog at "C".

With the gun ready to fire, two options now available to the shooter.

2. Tir (figure 3b)2. Shooting (Figure 3b)

This phase is identical for all weapons using the single action system. The trigger is pressed, which, by the basic principle of the weapon, rotates the trigger 14 on its axis until it comes to abut, just after the release on its index finger in J, this for the purpose to release the dog ring 12, which by the thrust exerted by the spring of the dog 22, causes the dog to "A", which ends its race by violently striking the striker (percussion). During these movements of parts causing the shot, the cocking lever 17 remained blocked by the "fast shooting" lever 16 in "B" which itself remained in the initial position by its new contact in "D" with the dog ring 12.
After firing, the dog 11 and dog ring 12 assembly driven by the backward movement of the moving parts (slide) is found in the initial single action position (FIG. 3a).

3. Mise en position "fast shooting" (figure 3c)3. Positioning in "fast shooting" position (figure 3c)

If the shooter decides not to use his weapon immediately, he must put his weapon in position security, which we will call here, by its specificity, "safety fast shooting". To do this, the weapon being in single action position (figure 3a), it is necessary push the dog 11 by exerting a pressure which will make it pivot from rear to front until the "fast shooting" lever 16 in "E", which was pushed by the cocking lever control index 17 at "F", which itself is pushed upward by its spring 20. This same thrust exerted by the index of the cocking lever 17 a also for the function of blocking the trigger 14 by its contact in "G", and it follows from this that the dog found stuck in the advanced position. The cocking lever 17 being in its high position, its lug can also enter a notch of the "H" slide and block this last.

4. Retour en position simple action4. Return to single action position

When the shooter decides to use his weapon again, he must return it to the single action position.
Before or during the acquisition of the target, to release the safety devices activated during the setting of the "safety fast shooting" position, the shooter must print a pressure from the top to the bottom of the cocking lever 17 until the lever is released. "fast shooting" 16 by its I-shaped contact, which will have the effect of releasing the active safety devices by the output of the lug "H" from the cocking lever 17 of the slide and by the release of the trigger 14, and thus allow the return spring 13 to return the dog 11 to the rear position, ready to fire in single action (Figure 3a).

En particulier, les figures 4 se rapportent à un SIG série P220, dans lesquelles on observe :Figures 4 show in section the different parts making up the safety device according to different phases, and allow to explain the operation of the weapon. In particular, Figures 4 are relate to a P220 series GIS, in which observe:

1. Simple action (figure 4a)1. Simple action (figure 4a)

In a single action, the dog 11 is kept in contact with the dog ring 12 at "A" by the action of the return spring 13, this assembly being retained by the trigger 14 in "armed" position (dog spring 22 compressed) which itself is maintained by the action of trigger spring 15.

The cocking lever 17 is pushed towards the high by the action of its spring 20 and retained against the dog in "B", which prevents it from taking its high position.

With the gun ready to fire, two options now available to the shooter.

2. Tir (figure 4b)2. Shooting (Figure 4b)

Durant ces déplacements de pièces entraínant le tir, le levier d'armement 17 est resté bloqué par le chien 11 et la bague de chien 12 en "B".This phase is identical for all weapons using the single action system, and will be described here for the purpose of outright recall. We press it trigger, which, by the basic principle of the weapon, makes pivot the trigger 14 on its axis in order to release the dog ring 12, which by the thrust exerted by the spring of the dog 22, trains the dog in "A", which finishes its race by violently striking the striker (percussion). During these movements of parts leading to the shooting, the cocking lever 17 remained blocked by the dog 11 and the dog ring 12 in "B".

Après le tir, l'ensemble chien 11 et bague de chien 12 entraíné par le recul des pièces mobiles (glissière) se retrouve en position initiale simple action (figure 4a).After firing, the dog 11 and ring assembly dog 12 driven by the recoil of moving parts (slide) is in the initial position single action (Figure 4a).

3. Mise en position "fast shooting" (figure 4c)3. Positioning in "fast shooting" position (figure 4c)

If the shooter decides not to use his weapon immediately, he must put his weapon in position security, which we will call here, by its specificity, "safety fast shooting". To do this, the weapon being in single action position (figure 4a), it is necessary push the dog 11 by exerting a pressure which will make it pivot from rear to front until the cocking lever index of lever 17 at "E", which is pushed up by its spring. This same displacement of the cocking lever 17 also has the function of blocking the trigger 14 by its contact in "G", and it results from this that the dog finds himself blocked in the forward position, trigger 14 locked. Dog 11 obstructing the slide, it cannot move back.

4. Retour en position simple action4. Return to single action position

When the shooter decides to do again using his weapon, he must put it back in single action position.

Before or during the acquisition of the target, to release the safety devices activated during activation "safety fast shooting" position, the shooter must print to the cocking lever 17 press from the top to the bottom until the arming lever index is released 17, which will have the effect of releasing the active safety devices by unlocking the trigger 14 but also allowing return spring 13 to return the dog 11 to position rear, ready to fire in single action (Figure 4a), with the clear passage of the slide.

En particulier, les figures 5 se rapportent à un COLT 45, dans lesquelles on observe :Figures 5 show in section the different parts making up the safety device according to different phases, and allow to explain the operation of the weapon. In particular, Figures 5 are relate to a COLT 45, in which we observe:

1. Simple action (figure 5a)1. Simple action (figure 5a)

In a single action, the dog 11 is kept in contact with the dog ring 12 at "A" by the action direct return spring 13, this assembly being retained by the trigger 14 in the "armed" position (spring of the dog 22 compressed) which itself is maintained by the action of trigger spring 15.

The cocking lever 17 is pushed towards the high by the action of its spring 20 and retained against the dog in "B", which prevents it from taking its high position.

Après le tir, l'ensemble chien 11 et bague de chien 12 entraíné par le recul des pièces mobiles (glissière) se retrouve en position initiale simple action (figure 5a).After firing, the dog 11 and ring assembly dog 12 driven by the recoil of moving parts (slide) is in the initial position single action (Figure 5a).

3. Mise en position "fast shooting" (figure 5c)3. Positioning in "fast shooting" position (figure 5c)

If the shooter decides not to use his weapon immediately, he must put his weapon in position security, which we will call here, by its specificity, "safety fast shooting". To do this, the weapon being in single action position (figure 5a), it is necessary push the dog 11 by exerting a pressure which will make it pivot from rear to front until the cocking lever index of lever 17 at "E", which is pushed up by its spring. This same displacement of the cocking lever 17 also has the function of blocking the trigger 14 by its contact in "G", and it results from this that the dog finds himself blocked in the forward position, trigger 14 locked. The cocking lever dog 17 being in its high position, its end enters a notch of the "H" slide and blocks it.

4. Retour en position simple action4. Return to single action position

When the shooter decides to do again using his weapon, he must put it back in single action position.

Before or during the acquisition of the target, to release the safety devices activated during activation "safety fast shooting" position, the shooter must print to the cocking lever 17 press from the top to the bottom until the arming lever index is released 17, which will have the effect of releasing the active safety devices by the exit of the end of the cocking lever of the slide and by unlocking the trigger 14, but also allow the return spring 13 to return the dog 11 in rear position, ready to fire in single action (Figure 5a).

The system having a criterion of universality, it is obvious that the form of execution relating to the GP (9 mm FN35), SIG P220 series, Colt 45 and their derivatives is given for illustration only and example, and that any other firearm having an interposed dog firing system could have serve in the same way.
