Abstract

Distance pieces (10,11,12,13) with specified dimensions and shaped as rectangular blocks are placed on the opposing machined plane surfaces of the roll chocks (3a, 4a). They are loaded with specified forces produced by roll settings, to determine the center or the roll stand and the actual roll setting positions which are controlled during operation of the rolling mill.
