Abstract
Description
The present invention relates to an electrical module for ground connection comprising a contact arrangement defining a shunt and a plurality of male contacts intended to receive contacts females attached to the ends of conductors to be connected to ground, means for retaining female contacts on male contacts, means for fixing the module on a support and establishing a connection electric between said contact arrangement and said support, and insulating means for confining the contacts in the module.
On a known module of this type, the contact arrangement is consists of a circular metal plate on which a multitude of Individual pin-shaped male contacts are attached to a circle. The retention means consist of a plurality of sockets with metal fins attached in a housing made of insulating material which comes to bear on the metal plate by surrounding the male contacts. The male contact parts are surrounded by sleeves which serve as support with winged sockets. An additional element is provided to ensure assembly of the housing with the metal plate.
The main drawback of this known module consists in its high cost, due in particular to the large number of its constituent parts (high manufacturing costs, long and expensive assembly).
The present invention relates to an electrical connection module for mass which is distinguished in particular by a very small number of parts which can be assembled simply and quickly, to a reduced cost.
The electrical module for ground connection, object of the invention comprises a contact arrangement consisting of a one-piece male shunt-contact assembly.
Preferably, the male shunt-contact assembly is formed by wiring, for example aluminum or aluminum alloy.
It turned out surprisingly that it was possible to achieve in one piece by spinning a circular shunt carrying on one side a multitude of perfectly cleared male contacts, for example twelve contact pins with a diameter of less than 1 mm, distributed in a circle of for example 15 mm.
To further reduce the number of constituent parts and reduce the assembly cost of the module according to the invention, it can be advantageous, for the retention of female contacts in the module, not to use metal finned sleeves added in the housing, but retention fins formed in one piece with the housing preferably made of plastic.
For the same purpose, it is advantageous, according to a method of embodiment of the invention, that the housing has tabs latching cooperating with the male shunt-contact assembly, preferably snap tabs cooperating externally with said set.
To allow the molding of the retention fins of a single room with the housing, it is necessary to provide clearances in the through holes of the housing, between the retention fins and the side of the housing cooperating with the male shunt-contact assembly. These clearances can be obtained by the fact that said parts of the through holes have a diameter greater than the diameter of the female contacts intended to be retained by the retention fins. However, in this case, the female contacts are badly guided in the holes of passage of the housing.
This is why, according to a preferred embodiment of the invention, the through holes of the housing include, in the area located between the retention fins and said face of the housing, ribs of guide for the female contacts, these ribs projecting radially inward.
Preferably, the retention fins are distributed at the way of petals around the edge of a through hole and the ribs of guidance are angularly offset with respect to the retention fins, preferably by being located angularly in a position insert between each two adjacent retention fins.
Referring to the single figure of the accompanying drawing, we will describe below in more detail an illustrative and nonlimiting embodiment a mass module according to the invention.
The single figure in the drawing is an axial section of the module assembled.
The
module, grâce au rebord intérieur 11 du boítier 9.For the containment of contacts and for the retention of
female contacts in
13 renferme plusieurs nervures longitudinales 15.
The connection module as shown and described consists of
therefore of a very reduced number of constituent parts, namely of a
It would also be possible, within the framework of the invention, to
make plate-
