Cette invention intéresse les fabricants de boítes en carton et les producteurs de boissons.

Description

La présente invention concerne un emballage parallélépipédique en carton à poignée latérale prédécoupée et intégrée dans une des faces d'extrémité pour le conditionnement d'un lot de contenants.
L'emballage selon l'invention est constitué d'un fond, de parois latérales, de deux faces d'extrémité obturées par une succession de panneaux se recouvrant. L'une des faces d'extrémité présente une poignée latérale préformée dans cette extrémité et individualisée au moment de la prise de l'emballage par le consommateur.
Il existe dans l'état de la technique de nombreux emballages pour le conditionnement d'un lot de contenants par exemple de petites bouteilles. Ces emballages connus proviennent de découpes à plat dans des flans de carton qui viennent envelopper les lots de contenants par l'action de moyens mécaniques prévus sur les lignes d'emballage. Dans ces emballages antérieurs voisins ou analogues, la poignée est intégrée au corps de l'emballage ou rapportée sur celui-ci.
Il existe ainsi des poignées prédécoupées dans les panneaux de face supérieure de l'emballage et individualisées au moment de la prise de l'emballage par la main du consommateur qui d'une part ouvre un volet pour plonger dans le volume intérieur et d'autre part fait céder par une pression du pouce une découpe-éjection voisine. La poignée constituée par le mouvement naturel de saisie assure au consommateur un moyen de préhension et de port. En raison des dimensions modestes de cette poignée sur divers emballages dont ceux de petite capacité, il apparaít cependant un certain inconfort résultant de la petite emprise des doigts dans le logement de la poignée. Par ailleurs, il y a lieu de considérer le risque de rupture du carton entraínant la chute des bouteilles.
Il existe également des poignées rapportées sur l'emballage en cours ou après sa constitution permettant une meilleure prise par la main. Un type de ce genre de poignées est généralement réalisé sous la forme d'un lien périmétrique plus ou moins serré autour du lot de contenants.
Le brevet français FR n° 2 434 763 se rapporte à un emballage présentant une telle poignée provenant d'une boucle de ceinturage du lot de contenants à l'extérieur de l'emballage. Ce ceinturage horizontal permet de dégager une poignée latérale après écrasement de structures d'arête venant se plaquer contre le corps des bouteilles d'angle. Le lien est choisi solide par rapport au poids de l'emballage permettant d'éviter sa rupture lors du transport. Cependant, l'emballage décrit dans ce brevet présente divers inconvénients considérés comme importants du point de vue de la vente.
Ceux-ci sont liés à des considérations technico-économiques et au confort du consommateur pendant le port de l'emballage.
Tout d'abord, il est nécessaire de rajouter dans les lignes d'emballage un poste de pose du lien de cerclage et de tension graduée de celui-ci pour éviter qu'il n'écrase trop les structures compressibles d'arête. De plus, cette poignée en ceinture provient d'un feuillard de cerclage non adapté à ce genre d'utilisation. Ainsi, la préhension et le port à main nue d'un tel emballage engendrent une sensation persistante désagréable, voire douloureuse.
Le but de la présente invention est de remédier aux inconvénients précités en procurant un emballage à poignée latérale intégrée se formant lors de la prise de l'emballage, assurant une facilité de préhension, un confort dans le port de l'emballage et une grande solidité de la poignée.
L'emballage parallélépipédique selon l'invention est composé d'un fond, d'une face supérieure, de deux parois latérales et de deux faces d'extrémité dans au moins une desquelles vient se former une poignée latérale lors de la prise de l'emballage.
Selon une caractéristique essentielle de l'invention, la poignée, prédécoupée à plat en même temps que le flan de découpe destiné à constituer l'emballage, est composée d'une double épaisseur de carton : une première épaisseur constituée de deux languettes formées dans le prolongement des parois latérales et une seconde épaisseur provenant d'une bande prédécoupée dans un des panneaux d'une des faces d'extrémité du corps de l'emballage.
La double épaisseur de la poignée de l'emballage selon l'invention assure sa solidité. Sa largeur déterminera à la conception son confort.
Selon une autre caractéristique essentielle de l'invention, la poignée est parfaitement intégrée à une des faces d'extrémité lors du stockage de l'emballage, et elle n'est individualisée qu'au moment de sa saisie par le consommateur.
Selon une troisième caractéristique essentielle de l'invention, la poignée est prolongée par des entailles dans les parois latérales de l'emballage afin de lui permettre à ses extrémités d'entrer en contact avec la paroi latérale adjacente des bouteilles de coin lorsque celle-ci est tendue et de gagner ainsi en longueur.
Ces entailles permettent de libérer un espace entre la face adjacente et la bande formant la poignée suffisant pour que le consommateur puisse passer la main derrière la poignée et la saisir confortablement.
L'invention sera mieux comprise à la lecture de la description qui suit effectuée sur un mode d'exécution préféré et non limitatif en référence aux dessins dans lesquels :

  • la figure 5 est la même vue simplifiée montrant ces mêmes structures montées mais représentées à l'état dissocié ;
  • les figures 6 à 10 sont des vues en perspective illustrant pour la première série (6 à 8) la formation de la poignée dans une des faces d'extrémité lors de la constitution de l'emballage et pour la deuxième série (9 et 10) son individualisation lors de la préhension puis le port de l'emballage par la poignée ainsi constituée ;
  • la figure 11 est une vue en plan de la découpe à plat de l'emballage selon l'invention.
La présente invention procède de l'idée générale inventive selon laquelle une poignée latérale est intégrée à l'une des faces d'extrémité d'un l'emballage et vient se constituer au moment de la préhension par traction sur sa partie centrale. La poignée est formée de deux languettes prolongeant les faces latérales adjacentes et rabattues contre la face d'extrémité et recouverte à titre de liaison et de doublure par une bande détachable d'extrémité provenant d'un des panneaux d'obturation. La flèche de la poignée provient des affaissements de l'arête au droit des extrémités de poignée le long à chaque fois de deux entailles parallèles. Ces affaissements plaquent les extrémités de la poignée lors de la traction sur celle-ci contre la surface latérale des bouteilles de coin contenues dans l'emballage.
La figure 1 montre en perspective l'emballage selon l'invention désigné par la référence 1. Sur cette figure on remarque une poignée latérale P individualisée car détachée de l'extrémité arrière de l'emballage et suffisamment large pour permettre une bonne prise et un certain confort de préhension et de maintien lorsque l'emballage est porté.
La figure 2 illustre l'emballage 1 selon l'invention à l'état de stockage, avec la poignée P intégrée à la face d'extrémité, et à l'état de transport avec la poignée P dégagée et tendue.
L'emballage 1 selon l'invention, parallélépipédique, est composé d'un fond 2, d'une face supérieure 3, de deux parois latérales 4 et 5, de deux faces d'extrémité 6 et 7 dans une au moins desquelles, par exemple la face 6 appelée face arrière, est intégrée la poignée latérale P selon l'invention.
La face supérieure 3 est réalisée par exemple sous la forme d'une double trappe à deux volets 8 et 9 d'accès aux bouteilles contenues dans l'emballage. Une découpe-éjection 10 prédécoupée et centrée sur le dessus 3 permet de dégager les volets 8 et 9 de la trappe d'accès articulés autour de deux lignes de pliage.
Les parois latérales 4 et 5 sont formées chacune de deux parties : un plan inférieur 4A et 5A chacun perpendiculaire au fond, et un plan supérieur 4B et 5B oblique incliné vers l'intérieur à rampe convergente vers le haut lorsque l'emballage est assemblé et posé sur son fond 2. Les plans inférieurs et supérieurs des parois latérales 4 et 5 sont séparés par une ligne de pliage.
Les faces d'extrémité 6 et 7 sont constituées chacune par deux panneaux rabattables respectivement inférieur et supérieur 11, 12 et 13, 14 qui viennent se rabattre dans le prolongement du fond et de la face supérieure en vue de fermer classiquement chaque face d'extrémité 6 et 7. Ainsi, la poignée P de l'emballage 1 selon l'invention provient en partie d'un des panneaux de fermeture de la face d'extrémité 6, par exemple du panneau inférieur 11 comme décrit en détail ci-après.
Les parois latérales 4 et 5 sont prolongées, d'un côté, par des languettes 15 et 16 venant se rabattre sur la face d'extrémité 6 entre les deux panneaux 11 et 12. Ces languettes sont de longueur suffisante pour se rejoindre à mi-longueur de la poignée et constituer ainsi l'épaisseur de base de la poignée P. Ces languettes 15 et 16 sont situées à la jonction entre les parties inférieures et supérieures des parois latérales 4 et 5, et prolongées par des entailles respectivement inférieures et supérieures 17, 18 et 19, 20 situées, les unes dans la partie inférieure des parois latérales 4A et 5A, et les autres sur la ligne de pliage des parois latérales. Ces entailles permettront aux extrémités de la poignée P de venir se plaquer contre la surface latérale du corps des contenants adjacents de coin de l'emballage 1 selon l'invention comme décrit ci-après.
Comme illustré sur la figure 3, l'emballage 1 selon l'invention est découpé à plat dans un flan de carton. La partie inférieure de la paroi latérale 5 est prolongée par une languette d'assemblage 21 qui sera fixée sous le fond 2 lors de l'assemblage.
On décrira plus en détail ci-après la face d'extrémité 6 de l'emballage 1 comportant la poignée intégrée P. Elle est constituée des deux panneaux d'obturation 11 et 12. Le premier panneau 11 est le panneau inférieur qui prolonge le fond 2 avec un léger décrochage et le second panneau 12 est le panneau supérieur qui se situe dans le prolongement de la face supérieure 3 et se trouve articulé aux parties supérieures des parois latérales 4B et 5B par des soufflets 22 et 23.
La face d'extrémité opposée 7 de l'emballage 1 est également constituée de deux panneaux 13 et 14, le premier panneau 13 prolongeant le fond 2 avec un léger décrochage et le second panneau 14 situé dans le prolongement de la face supérieure 3 et articulé aux parties supérieures des parois latérales 4B et 5B par des soufflets identiques 24 et 25.
Le panneau inférieur d'obturation 11 est composé de trois parties. Une première partie 26 qui prolonge le fond 2 avec un léger décrochage. Une seconde partie 27 délimite une bande détachable prédécoupée 28 dans le panneau 11 sur toute sa largeur et constituera ultérieurement la poignée P de l'emballage 1. La troisième partie constitue une patte 29 centrée sur le haut de la bande 28 et apte à se rabattre vers l'intérieur pour dégager la poignée P lors de la saisie de l'emballage 1 et en améliorer la solidité de bordure.
L'emballage 1 selon l'invention est également muni de volets latéraux de fermeture respectivement deux par face d'extrémité 30, 31, 32 et 33 situés dans le prolongement des parties inférieures des parois latérales et permettant d'assembler l'emballage selon des techniques classiques par recouvrement.
La pose et le montage de l'emballage 1 selon l'invention est effectué selon des méthodes conventionnelles dans le domaine des conditionnements en carton prédécoupés à plat.
Les figures 6 à 8 illustrent les principales étapes de la fermeture de la face d'extrémité 6 comportant le poignée P.
L'étape de base consiste à envelopper le lot de contenants par le flan de découpe. Après cette opération, les faces d'extrémité 6 et 7 restent ouvertes et la prochaine opération concerne leur obturation. Le corps de l'emballage est constitué en fourreau précollé par le collage de la languette d'assemblage 21 au fond 2.
L'étape suivante consiste à rabattre par des moyens mécaniques appropriés chaque panneau supérieur 12 et 14, opération qui entraíne en fermeture chaque paire correspondante de soufflets latéraux 22 à 25. Concernant l'extrémité 6, les volets latéraux inférieurs 30 et 31 ainsi que les languettes d'extrémité 15 et 16 formant la poignée P sont ensuite rabattus et recouverts par le panneau inférieur 11 préalablement convenablement encollé en divers endroits. La solidarisation s'effectue aux zones suivantes : languettes et volets latéraux et la partie médiane du panneau inférieur contre le panneau supérieur.
Le panneau supérieur 12 passe librement sous la zone des languettes 15 et 16 recouvertes par la bande détachable 28 en partie supérieure du panneau inférieur d'extrémité 11 et ne se trouve collé à ce panneau inférieur 11 qu'au niveau de son extrémité inférieure.
La patte d'extrémité 29 du panneau inférieur 11 n'est pas encollée et permettra de dégager la poignée P au moment opportun. Les languettes 15 et 16 ne sont pas non plus collées au panneau supérieur 12 mais à la partie supérieure détachable 28 du panneau inférieur 11 pour former la poignée P.
La bande détachable 28 du panneau inférieur d'extrémité 11 est donc exactement placée au dessus des languettes 15 et 16 et solidarisée par collage à celle-ci, ce qui confère à la poignée P de l'emballage selon l'invention une double épaisseur pour une meilleure rigidité et une solidité accrue.
Les figures 9 et 10 illustrent la saisie de l'emballage 1 selon l'invention par sa poignée P. On prévoit des indications sur la face d'extrémité comportant la poignée P pour guider le consommateur dans les étapes à suivre.
Premièrement, le consommateur doit rabattre la patte 29 du panneau inférieur 11, et engager sa main entre l'extrémité de ce panneau inférieur 11 et le panneau supérieur 12.
En tirant vers lui, le consommateur va déchirer le panneau 11 selon la ligne prédécoupée lors de la fabrication de l'emballage individualisant ainsi une bande de double épaisseur de carton constituant le corps de la poignée P. La partie inférieure 26 du panneau 11 reste collée au panneau 12 et la bande 28 est solidarisée aux languettes 15 et 16. Le consommateur a ainsi dégagé la poignée P constituée des languettes 15 et 16 et de la bande centrale 28 du panneau 11 rapportée sur les languettes à titre de liaison et de doublure.
Au cours de la traction le consommateur a créé un espace entre la face d'extrémité 6 de l'emballage et la poignée P. Cet espace est facilement obtenu sans endommager l'emballage grâce aux entailles 17 à 20 longeant les extrémités des languettes 15 et 16. Ces entailles, de quelques centimètres, permettent d'assurer la flèche requise pour la poignée P, car les languettes viennent se plaquer contre la surface latérale du corps des contenants adjacents de coin renfermés dans l'emballage. On libère ainsi un espace suffisant à l'utilisation de la poignée pour la préhension et le port de l'emballage.
Après constitution de la poignée, on remarquera que l'emballage reste néanmoins complètement fermé. En effet, la face d'extrémité 6 d'où la poignée P a été extraite est fermée par le panneau supérieur 12 sur lequel les volets latéraux 30 et 31 ont été rabattus et sur lesquels la partie inférieure 26 du panneau 11 a été collée.
L'invention a été décrite dans le cadre d'un emballage dit fourreau ou étui précollé. Elle reste totalement valable dans le cas d'un emballage à poser par enveloppement.

Claims (8)

  1. Emballage en carton du type étui précollé ou à poser par enveloppement pour le conditionnement d'un lot de contenants, formé à partir d'une découpe à plat, composé d'un fond (2), de parois latérales (4 et 5), de deux faces d'extrémité (6 et 7) constituées d'au moins deux panneaux rabattus l'un sur l'autre (11, 12 et 13, 14), et d'une face supérieure (3) présentant un accès aux bouteilles, ledit emballage (1) comportant une poignée (P) intégrée à son corps pour sa préhension et son port caractérisé en ce que la poignée P est latérale et intégrée à l'une des faces d'extrémité en étant formée pour sa partie centrale dans un des panneaux de fermeture de cette extrémité, les extrémités de cette poignée étant constituées par les prolongations des faces latérales adjacentes (4 et 5) du corps de l'emballage rendues libres au droit du passage des arêtes adjacentes, la face d'extrémité comportant la poignée latérale P restant fermée après individualisation de la poignée P.
  2. Emballage selon la revendication 1, caractérisé en ce que les prolongations longitudinales des parois latérales (4 et 5) sont deux languettes libres (15 et 16), ces languettes étant rabattues entre les deux panneaux (11, 12) d'une des faces d'extrémité (6) et solidarisées par collage à la face arrière d'une bande (28) détachable prédécoupée dans l'extrémité supérieure du panneau inférieur (11), afin de constituer la poignée latérale (P) apte à n'être individualisée qu'au moment de sa saisie puis de sa traction vers l'extérieur de l'emballage par un consommateur et venant lors de sa tension se plaquer par ses extrémités contre la surface latérale adjacente des contenants de coin voisins pour constituer la flèche nécessaire à sa préhension.
  3. Emballage selon la revendication 2, caractérisé en ce que les languettes latérales (15 et 16) sont libres en étant prolongées respectivement sur chaque face latérale par deux entailles (17,18 et 19,20).
  4. Emballage selon l'une quelconque des revendications précédentes, caractérisé en ce que les languettes libres (15) et (16) sont réunies entre elles par la bande détachable (28) pour former la poignée latérale P.
  5. Emballage selon l'une quelconque des revendications précédentes, caractérisé en ce que le panneau inférieur (11) dudit emballage (1) est composé de trois parties, une première partie (26) prolongeant le fond (2) avec un léger décrochage, une seconde partie délimitant une bande prédécoupée (28), et une troisième partie, centrée sur le haut de la bande (28), constituant une patte (29) apte à se rabattre vers l'intérieur pour dégager la poignée (P) lors de la saisie de l'emballage (1).
  6. Emballage selon l'une des revendications 1 ou 2, caractérisé en ce que la poignée (P) est prédécoupée à plat dans l'extrémité supérieure du panneau inférieur (11) en même temps que l'emballage (1).
  7. Emballage selon l'une quelconque des revendications précédentes, caractérisé en ce que chacune des parois latérales (4 et 5) est composée de deux parties ; une partie inférieure (4A et 5A) verticale, et une partie supérieure (4B et 5B) formant un pan oblique incliné vers l'intérieur lorsque l'emballage est assemblé, les parties inférieures et supérieures étant séparées par une ligne de pliage.
  8. Emballage selon l'une quelconque des revendications précédentes, caractérisé en ce que les panneaux des faces d'extrémité (12 et 14) situés dans le prolongement du dessus (3) sont articulés aux parties supérieures des parois latérales (4 et 5) par des soufflets latéraux (22,23 et 24,25).
