Abstract

An air conditioner comprising an outlet (11) from which the air from an indoor heat exchanger (7) is discharged, and closing members (20, 21) which are provided in positions spaced from end portions (11a, 11b) of the outlet (11) by a predetermined distance X toward the central portion thereof, and which are adapted to partially close the outlet (11), whereby, when the cold air from the indoor heat exchanger (7) impinges upon the closing members (20, 21) during a room cooling operation, it can flow in a divided manner through openings on both sides of the closing members (20, 21), end portions of an air directing blade (15) being therefore covered with the cold air to prevent the cold air and indoor air from contacting each other at the mentioned end portions, so that it becomes possible to set flows of the air smooth and minimize the occurrence of dew condensation.
