Claims (5)

  1. Locking cylinder with an associated flat key with a variable stepped profile, the said locking cylinder having small hard-metal plates in the cylinder core (10), characterized in that
    the cylinder core (10) has, on its front and rear side, slot-shaped recesses arranged transversely to its central longitudinal axis,
    a pair (4) of small profiled plates comprising a left-hand and a right-hand small profiled plate (4a and 4b) is situated in the front recess, the said pair extending over the entire height of the key channel (14),
    a pair (5) of small profiled plates having a left-hand and a right-hand small profiled plate (5a and 5b) is arranged in the rear recess (Fig. 3b), the said pair likewise extending over the entire height of the key channel (14),
    the left-hand small profiled plate (4a) has the profile features (6 and 8) and the right-hand small profiled plate (4b) the profile features (7 and 8) of the basic profile,
    the pair (4) of small profiled plates also has the supplementary features (6a, 7a and 8a),
    the pair (5) of small profiled plates contains supplementary features (6a, 7a, 8a, 6b and 7b) in addition to the profile features (6, 7, 8, 9) of the basic profile,
    the supplementary features (6a, 7a, 8a, 6b and 7b) of the pairs (4 and 5) of the small profiled plates are arranged such that they can nest together with the profile features (6, 7, 8, 9) of the basic profile,
    the profile features (6, 7, 8, 9) of the basic profile are arranged throughout the cylinder core (10),
    the associated flat key (12) is adapted by means of grooves to the profile features (6, 7, 8, 9) of the basic profile and to the supplementary features (6a, 7a, 8a, 6b, 7b) in accordance with the position of the pairs (4 and 5) of the small profiled plates in the cylinder core (10).
  2. Locking cylinder according to Claim 1, characterized in that in addition to the use of a rear pair (5) of small profiled plates pins placed laterally can be arranged in the cylinder core (10).
  3. Locking cylinder according to Claims 1 and 2, characterized in that three or more pairs of small profiled plates and pins on the cylinder core (10) can be distributed over the length thereof.
  4. Locking cylinder according to Claims 1 to 3, characterized in that the stepped profile of the associated flat key is arranged in such a manner that the profile features (6, 7, 8, 9) and the supplementary features (6a, 7a, 8a, 6b, 7b) of the front and the rear pair (4 and 5) of small profile plates are of identical design, but the width of the entire profile in the rear pair (5) of small profiled plates is reduced in comparison with the width of the profile in the front pair (4) of small profiled plates.
  5. Locking cylinder according to Claims 1 to 4, characterized in that
    an additional, lateral pin (11) is situated in the cylinder core (10) level with a core pin (3),
    a precisely fitting milled portion (13) in the associated flat key (12) is assigned to the additional, lateral pin (11),
    the additional, lateral pin (11) can be arranged level with any desired core pin (3).
