Definitions
- the present invention relates to a multi-pole electromechanical contactor comprising, in an insulating box and for each pole, two fixed contacts each arranged on a fixed contact piece and a movable contact bridge carrying two contacts each associated with a fixed contact, the contact bridges various poles being housed in an insulating support movable in translation in the case.
- the support is moved in a main direction depending the state of a control member such as an electromagnet.
- a control member such as an electromagnet.
- the support has a side a wall perpendicular to the partitions and connecting them to contribute to provide the desired isolation, while on the other side the isolation is ensured by a cover or by a wall of the case against which the support.
- the known support In the absence of a cover, the known support has an isolation distance interpolar which is insufficient in some cases.
- the object of the invention is to increase the achievable interpolar isolation distance with a contact bridge support in a contactor of the type described, while maintaining good rigidity of this support. She has for other aim of simplifying such a support.
- the insulating wall elements specific to housings neighbors are provided on either side of a mean longitudinal plane of the support so that these housings open respectively to large opposite sides of the support.
- the insulating support has a gentle cross-section in the form of meanders, between the bridges contact whose housings open towards the same wall of the housing, a insulation distance equal to twice the interpolar step in the direction main.
- the wall elements are arranged symmetrically by relative to the mean longitudinal plane, to alternate in succession in the direction of movement of the support.
- Figure 1 shows in side elevation the support of the contact bridges in a contactor according to the invention.
- Figure 2 shows the same support in front elevation.
- Figure 3 shows in perspective the support and some of the contacts associated fixed.
- Figure 4 illustrates the introduction of a contact bridge in its housing.
- Contactor A is currently quadrupole, but could of course understand a number of poles other than four. It has a case insulator 10 which houses an unspecified control member, such as an electromagnet, and a support 20 of contact bridges B1-B4 able to move in translation in a main direction X as a function of the state of the organ control.
- an unspecified control member such as an electromagnet
- the support 20 has a generally prismatic shape with a rectangular base, the contact bridges being regularly distributed over the height of the prism and extending parallel to the long side of the rectangular base of the prism.
- Each bridge B is placed with a helical return spring R in a housing L of the support, so that it can move relative to the support in direction X against the return spring R; each bridge B carries at its ends two movable contacts Ca, Cb which cooperate with respective fixed contacts C'a, C'b themselves carried by parts of fixed contacts 11a, 11b held in the housing 10.
- Contact bridges B can be straight; in the embodiment illustrated, they are in the shape of an omega having a central core 21 and wings 22,23 offset from the web in the direction X of movement of the support, so as to be able to provide a contact function at closing (bridges B1-B3) or opening contacts (bridge B4).
- the choice of their function is carried out as we know by simply reversing the bridge in his home.
- the fixed contact parts 11a, 11b and the bridges B are oriented according to their length in a direction Y orthogonal to X. It will be observed that the housings L are open laterally in direction Y towards walls 12,13 of the housing 10 of the contactor.
- the mean longitudinal plane P of the support, parallel at the long sides of its base, is substantially the longitudinal plane of symmetry contact bridges B and is therefore parallel to X and Y.
- the support comprises between the bridges B1, B2; B2, B3; B3, B4 of the partitions respective interpolar transverse 31,32,33 which extend in planes perpendicular to the X direction and which contribute to interpolar isolation; it also includes partitions at its upper and lower ends 34.35 parallel to the interpolar partitions; partitions 34.35 increase the rigidity of the support and help to insulate the contacts from electromagnet screw.
- Successive wall elements 36,37,38,39 respectively connect the partitions 34.31; 31.32; 32.33; 33.35.
- These wall elements are parallel at X and at the mean longitudinal plane P of the support and are perpendicular to the partitions 31-35. They are located alternately symmetrically with respect to the medium plane P of the support, being sort of staggered, and giving on the support, seen in cross section, a meandering shape (see figure 1).
- This arrangement ensures, in combination with the walls 12,13 of the housing related to elements 36,37,38,39 and against which they are guided when sliding the support, excellent interpolar isolation.
- the bilateral arrangement of the insulating wall elements 36,37,38,39 ensures along the long sides of the support an insulation distance between bridges of contact equal to twice the interpolar step p.
- bridges B in their housings L are ensured by forms retainer 40 (see Figure 4).
- the introduction of a bridge B in its housing is provided by an opening 41 opening to the outside by means of a ramp or a cutaway 42 provided on a central part 43 of the support for biasing the core 21 of the bridge, while ramps 44 are provided on the lateral parts 45 of the support to receive in across the wings 22,23 of the bridge.
- This arrangement makes it possible to maintain the bridges contact without the need to add a specific piece of closure; such a part will however generally be provided, in combination with suitable forms of guidance provided in the walls 12,13.
