Abstract

Beschrieben wird eine Einrichtung zum Zünden einer Hochdruckgasentladungslampe in einem Kraftfahrzeug mit mindestens einem Zündtransformator, mit mindestens einem Zündkondensator und mit einem Schaltelement, der den mindestens einen Zündkondensator in die Primärwicklung des Zündtransformators entlädt, zur Erzeugung einer der Betriebsspannung der Hochdruckgasentladungslampe zu überlagernden Zündspannung.
Parallel zu dem mindestens einen Zündkondensator ist eine Freilaufdiode geschaltet, welche den rückwärtigen Energieaustausch vom Sekundärkreis zum Primärkreis verhindert und somit ein Schwingen des Zündstromes durch die Lampe sicher unterdrückt.
