Description

The subject of the present invention is a plug for the connection of a dust extraction hose to a system central vacuum.

A central vacuum system consists of a central vacuum unit installed in a technical room, and outlet installed in the different rooms of a residential building of offices, or receiving from the public, the sockets being connected to the central suction by a network of smooth ducts.

The suction sockets are used to connect the duct network of suction to a brush used to vacuum dust, this brush being attached to a flexible tube, the other end of which is fitted with a nozzle intended to be inserted into an outlet connecting the flexible pipe to the central vacuum unit and starting up this central unit, for example by via a microswitch fixed in the socket.

Document FR 1,534,667 relates to an installation central vacuum system with tube connection boxes flexible, housed in the walls of the room to be equipped. Each case is closed by a shutter to be opened manually before introduction of the end of the flexible tube. The seal at closing is completed by a retractable spherical shutter during aspiration.

The suction sockets are mounted either on the floor or the most generally in the lower part of a partition. These sockets are generally covered with a flap, which must be pivoted outwards before the engagement of the connecting piece of the suction hose. Such arrangement has the disadvantage of not being able to install furniture at the location of a socket, which is particularly damaging in office buildings where moves are frequent, and where office partitions can be moved. In any case, the suction ports should be easily accessible through the person performing dust extraction. It would be preferable, especially in office buildings with a false ceiling, to arrange the suction sockets on the ceiling, so that these sockets would no longer be inconvenient for furniture or partitions.

However, there arises, in such a case, the problem of the introduction of the end of the flexible pipe into the body of the socket.

The object of the invention is to provide a plug for the connection of a dust extraction hose to a system central vacuum, in which the body of the socket can be placed just as well on the floor, in a wall or ceiling, everything allowing easy and immediate insertion of the hose end flexible in the body of the socket and an operation automatic installation, even if the operator is at a certain distance from the body of the socket.

To this end, the outlet it concerns includes:
  • on the one hand, a tubular body mounted in a wall of the equipped room, ceiling, wall or floor, perpendicular to this wall and having, on the side of the wall, an open end which, closed elastically with sealing by retractable means, forms a conical inlet on the interior side of the room, this tubular body being connected by a conduit to the central vacuum unit, and comprising a means of reporting information for controlling the operation of the central unit, which is activated when the shutter means of the tubular body are in the open position, a position in which the conical inlet (4) is not closed by said retractable means (9, 29), and
  • on the other hand, a rigid tubular end piece which, mounted at one end of the dust suction pipe, is intended to be engaged in the tubular body, this end piece comprising means for angular positioning and fixing in the tubular body, in end of engagement travel therein, the end fitting comprising an opening disposed opposite the duct connected to the central vacuum unit, when it is at the end of the engagement travel in the tubular body.

Advantageously, the endpiece is fixed to one end of a section of rigid tube, at the other end of which is fixed a flexible pipe.

In order to allow a connection with a socket which is not directly accessible, the rigid tube section is of adjustable length being made from several rigid elements assembled end to end or telescopic.

The means of carrying out control command information operation of the control unit consists, for example, of a contact electric.

The connection of a suction hose to the outlet is made by simple engagement of the nozzle associated with the pipe in the tubular body of the outlet. This movement, easily achieved due to the conical entry of the tubular body, causes the closing means of the tubular body, placing the suction pipe in communication with the network of conduits connected to the central vacuum unit, and the operation of the central vacuum unit. To the extent that the body tubular plug is located on the ceiling, the end cap is attached to one end a rigid tube section, at the other end of which is fixed a pipe flexible.

If the rigid tube section is a few tens of centimeters in length, the operator can easily, using this rigid tube section, insert the end piece into the tubular body to commission the unit and remove the tip from the tubular body, at the end of suction.

According to a first embodiment of this socket, the duct connected to the central vacuum unit is perpendicular to the body tubular, the sealing means thereof being constituted by a piston pushed to its closed position by a spring and sliding between a closed position where it closes the duct connected to the central unit and a retracted position, in which the end piece is at the end of its travel of engagement in the tubular body and ensures the communication of the suction hose with the conduit connected to the central vacuum.

According to another embodiment of this socket, the means shutter of the tubular body are constituted by a flap in one or several parts, subjected to the action of a spring keeping it in position closure, each part of which is articulated around an axis perpendicular to the axis of the body, near the end of it located at the level of the wall, so as to be able to tilt towards the inside of the body, when inserting the tip.

The means of carrying out control command information operation of the central unit can be operated either by means obturation of the tubular body, piston or flap, either by the end piece itself, at the end of its engagement in the tubular body.

According to a characteristic of the invention, the means of angular positioning of the nozzle relative to the tubular body are constituted by a system of complementary grooves-ribs formed respectively in the tubular body and in the end piece.

Even if the end piece and the tubular body have a cross-section rectangular, it is advantageous to have positioning means angle of the nozzle, if the opening for communication of the pipe with the central vacuum unit is arranged laterally in the mouthpiece.

In the case where the body and the tip are of circular section, the means for positioning and fixing the end piece in the body tubular are formed by a finger projecting radially towards inside the tubular body and by an axial groove formed in the outer wall of the nozzle from its insertion end into the tubular body, ending in a transverse groove.

The attachment of the nozzle in the tubular body is carried out by an axial movement followed by a rotational movement, like a bayonet type fixing.

According to another embodiment of this socket, the means for fixing the end piece in the tubular body are constituted by recesses opening transversely into the walls of the body tubular or end piece, in which are intended to engage profiled elements, such as balls, resiliently pushed, and belonging respectively to the end piece or to the tubular body.

  • Figure 1 est une vue en perspective de cette prise associée à un plafond, en position de raccordement d'un tuyau d'aspiration ;
  • Figures 2 et 3 sont deux vues en coupe longitudinale de cette prise, respectivement avant connexion et après connexion de l'embout de raccordement du tuyau d'aspiration ;
  • In any case, the invention will be clearly understood with the aid of the description which follows, with reference to the appended schematic drawing showing, by way of nonlimiting examples, two embodiments of this socket:
  • Figure 1 is a perspective view of this outlet associated with a ceiling, in the connection position of a suction pipe;
  • Figures 2 and 3 are two views in longitudinal section of this socket, respectively before connection and after connection of the connecting piece of the suction pipe;
  • Figure 4 is a partially cutaway perspective view partially in longitudinal section of a second embodiment of this socket, associated with a ceiling, in the disconnected position of the connecting piece of the suction pipe.
Le corps 3, qui est tubulaire et de section circulaire, sert de logement à un piston 9 coulissant et poussé vers l'extrémité libre du corps par un ressort 10.The socket shown in Figures 1 to 3 is intended to be mounted on the ceiling, and more specifically adapted to a building equipped with 2 tiles of false ceilings. The socket according to the invention comprises a body tubular 3, including one open end, having an insertion cone 4, is fixed by a flange 5 on a slab 2 of false ceiling, in which is formed an opening 6. The tubular body 3 is therefore located in the space between the false ceiling and the cover slab of the local. The tubular body 3 includes an opening sleeve 7 radially close to its lower end, used for connection of a connecting conduit 8 with a central vacuum. The body 3, which is tubular and of circular section, serves as a housing for a piston 9 sliding and pushed towards the free end of the body by a spring 10.

In the position shown in Figure 2, the piston 9 takes pressing against a finger 12 located at the free end of the body 3 and closes the conduit 8 connected to the central vacuum. The other end of the body tubular is equipped with a microswitch 13 which is actuated by the piston 9 when the latter is in the retracted position in the body 3, as shown in the figure 3. This microswitch, when activated, controls the setting operation of the central vacuum unit.

En position de non utilisation de l'installation, le corps 3 est dans la position représentée à la figure 2.The suction device also includes a flexible hose 14 fitted, at one of its ends, with a brush, not shown in drawing. At its other end, the flexible hose is equipped with a section of rigid tube 15, for example metallic, of a few tens of centimeters in length at the other end of which a nozzle 16 is fixed. The tubular endpiece 16 is intended to be engaged in the body 3, in pushing the piston 9 towards the bottom of the latter. The end piece 16 has a radial opening 17 intended to be opposite the duct 8 in the maximum engagement position of the nozzle in the tubular body. The end piece 16 comprises, from its end introduction into the body 3, a longitudinal groove 18 opening in a transverse groove 19. In the non-use position of installation, the body 3 is in the position shown in FIG. 2.

To start the suction unit, the operator takes the rigid tube section 15 and introduces the end piece 16 to inside the tubular body 3 by positioning the groove 18 opposite the finger 12. At the end of the stroke, the operator pivots the end piece inside the body so that the finger 12 is engaged in the groove 19 as far as a end position, in which the opening 17 is opposite of the suction duct 8. During this movement, the piston 9 is moved to the bottom of the body 3 and actuates the microswitch 13 causing the start-up of the central vacuum unit. At the end of suction, the operator does the opposite, first rotating the nozzle relative to the body and then withdrawing it axially. The piston 9 pushed by spring 10 returns to closed closing position the opening of the body as well as the suction duct 8. The microswitch 13 being deactivated stops the central vacuum unit.

In this case, the tubular body 23 has a square section, as does the end piece 36. The body 23 is closed by a flap 29 mounted pivoting about an axis horizontal and held in the closed position by a spring 30. As in the previous case, the connection 27 for the connection conduit with the central vacuum unit is arranged laterally. In this form of execution, a microswitch 33 for controlling the central vacuum unit is arranged laterally in the body 23 and actuated directly by the end piece 36. The end piece 36 has a transverse opening 37 of communication with the central network. The tip 36 is mounted at one end of a rigid tube section 35, itself mounted at one end of a flexible pipe 34. The angular positioning of the nozzle 36 inside the conduit 23 is produced by cooperation a rib 32 that the body has with a groove 38 that has the tip. The locking means consist of two recesses 39 formed in two walls of the end piece 36, in which are intended to come into engagement profiled elements 40 constituted, by example, by balls, pushed elastically inwards, passing through two opposite walls of the tubular body 23.

The operation of the socket in Figure 4 is the same as that of taking figures 1 to 3 with the difference that there is no need perform rotation of the nozzle at the end of engagement thereof inside the tubular body.

As is apparent from the above, the invention provides a great improvement to the existing technique by providing a hold for the connection of a dust suction hose to an installation centralized suction, simple structure, allowing positioning this grip on the ceiling, which is particularly advantageous, in particular in commercial or office premises, while being of a very practical use for the operator.

It goes without saying that the invention is not limited only to embodiments of this socket, described above by way of examples, on the contrary, it embraces all its variants. This is how that the opening made in the nozzle to achieve the setting communication of the flexible hose with the conduit connected to the control unit suction could be not transverse to the tip but axial to it or that the means of reporting order information could be constituted not by an electrical contact but by a sensor pneumatic, for example, without leaving the frame of the invention.
