Abstract
Description
The invention relates to a method for removing Stencil coatings on screen printing forms, in particular their template carriers. Furthermore, the Invention on a device for performing this Process.
In principle, two different ones are used for screen and film printing Printing forms used. For flat screen printing a flat screen printing form is used, in which the Stencil holder on a rectangular screen printing frame is stretched and essentially of a woven Gauze consists of plastic or metal threads. For the Rotary screen printing (film printing) is a cylindrical one Printing form provided in which the stencil holder extends as a cylindrical jacket between two end rings. The stencil carrier is usually used in rotary printing forms galvanically made of nickel.
To achieve a certain print image, parts of the stencil carrier, which should not print, by means of a stencil coating acting as a barrier layer provided so that there are opaque and translucent Areas result. For the production of the stencil coating there are different procedures.
The stencil coating is removed at certain intervals , for example around the screen printing form to prepare for the production of another printed image. Generally, chemical ones are still used for this Means used, especially when it are hardened stencil coatings. In In this case, very strong oxidizing agents (iodates or periodate, manganese peroxide, osmium tetraoxide, selenium dioxide etc.) based on polyvinyl alcohol or cellulose layers required. With gelatin layers Enzymes used. In any case, the wastewater badly affected, so the sewage must be processed in expensive plants.
Recently, proposals have been made for stencil coatings with the help of water jets with partial to remove very high pressures (cf. EP 0 391 491 A1; EP 0 641 649 A1). The application of chemical substances can only be dispensed with if particularly high pressures are used. The necessary for this Devices are expensive and therefore expensive. Precautions must also be taken to ensure that the screen printing form is not damaged by the water jet becomes.
Beim Herausnehmen wird das Druckformsieb auch auf der Außenseite mit einer Reinigungsflüssigkeit besprüht und zusätzlich Luft angeblasen.DE-A-28 27 163 describes a process for cleaning cylindrical screen printing forms, in which the Screen printing form immersed vertically in a tank and charged with a cleaning liquid from the inside becomes. To support the cleaning process several ultrasound generators are arranged in the tank, which generate an ultrasonic field in the liquid. At the The printing form screen will also be removed on the outside sprayed with a cleaning liquid and additionally Air blown.
Ein solches Verfahren ist jedoch für die Entschichtung von Siebdruckformen, also die Entfernung der Schablonenbeschichtung, nicht geeignet.JP-A-5 220 460 describes a method in which an object, for example the screen of a printing press, inserted in a liquid bath and an ultrasonic generator so far immersed in the liquid bath is that there is only a small gap between the ultrasonic generator and object remains with the cleaning liquid is filled. From JP-A-4-351592 it is known Metal masks or screen masks in a liquid bath of printing material, such as solder paste, by cleaning the mask in a liquid bath immersed and moved back and forth by means of a mechanism as well as an additional ultrasound device is applied. However, such a procedure is for the decoating of screen printing forms, i.e. the Removal of the stencil coating, not suitable.
The invention has for its object a method to provide with the screen printing forms without the Let the use of chemicals be decoated, and at the the outlay on equipment is comparatively low. A another object is to provide a device for Propose implementation of this procedure.
The first part of the task is according to the invention solved that the screen printing form with the stencil holder in a liquid bath immersed and by the action of a Ultrasonic device with at least one ultrasonic generator is decoated by this or these is or will be created on the template carrier and remains applied during ultrasound generation or stay. The basic idea of the invention is therefore the use ultrasound in a liquid, especially water bath, in such a way that direct contact between Ultrasonic generator (s) and screen printing form are created. The The template holder can then no longer swing through evade so that the full pressure of the ultrasonic generator (s) is taken over. This leads to a Detonation of the stencil coating, the effect is also present on the back. Should this effect not sufficient, the screen printing form after the first stripping process and then again exposed to ultrasound.
The ultrasound consists of high-frequency sound waves with frequencies above 16 kHz which are vaporized in the liquid or create gas bubbles after an expansion phase implode. This creates high pressure surges and turbulence and also heat waves that when exposed towards the stencil holder with the appropriate intensity de-coating. The intensity of the ultrasound device can be set so that this the template carrier is not attacked.
The advantages over the chemical processes lie in the fact that the use of chemicals completely can be dispensed with, d. H. all related Disadvantages such as pollution, air emissions, fire risk, Risk of chemical burns and the provision of such chemicals fall away here. The detached stencil coatings can by simple filtering or Precipitation from the aqueous medium of the liquid bath be removed and deposited, unless they have been processed can be. Thorough cleaning results even at the crosshairs of the stencil carrier fabric, even if hardened stencil layers available.
Compared to the distance using water jets the outlay on equipment is considerably less. Also the amount of liquid is limited. A liquid bath is sufficient for a flat screen printing form where the screen printing form is just dipping.
It may be appropriate for the ultrasound to act is limited to parts of the template carrier and the ultrasonic device and the template carrier relative and be moved parallel to each other. That way there is the possibility of areas of the template carrier to exclude the effect of ultrasound, so that existing there Stencil adhesives or stencil coatings not attacked become.
A device for performing the above The method is characterized in that the Ultrasound generator abuts on the template carrier or issue. It is clear that this device is relative simply constructed and thus the expenditure on equipment is low is.
The installation of the ultrasonic generator (s) can, for example done with the help of a lifting device.
According to a further feature of the invention, that the ultrasound device is arranged on a support is that is movable in a horizontal plane, so the entire surface of the template carrier with ultrasound can be applied. This can be done in concrete terms happen that the carrier is designed as a girder bridge which is on both sides in the edge area of the liquid pan is guided, the support bridge expediently designed to be movable in one direction and the ultrasound device transverse to it relative to the carrier is suspended.
It can be advantageous to accelerate the stripping be if the ultrasound device has several ultrasound generators, also called sonotrodes.
To catch the detached coating particles should a filter device in the drain of the liquid pan be provided.
