Description

The invention relates to a method and an installation for extracting juice from sugar beet for industrial purposes Sugar production, in which the previously washed Sugar beets are crushed and the crushed Beet mass separated into a solid and a liquid phase becomes.

The processing of sugar beet into sugar is ongoing of the past few decades has become a large-scale industrial process where a lot of energy has to be used and in addition to sugar, there are also other products. These are partly used as animal feed, the most valuable components of sugar beet as animal feed fall for procedural reasons of annihilation.

In this large-scale industrial process, be thorough beforehand washed sugar beet and the beet pulp in heated extraction towers with water drained. To do this, heated fresh water must be provided become. With this treatment the whole Beet mass brought to the extraction temperature. The hot juice obtained shows a through this treatment higher water content than that in the beet Juice on.

In this treatment of beet pulp, some occur Problems whose solution requires special measures: Among these problems, there are three in particular, which the process flow into a not always desired Lead direction: One problem is the protein in the beet, that in the process, in the heated extraction tower, breaks down to amino acids, which it then requires make the pH by adding calcium hydroxide control and the amino acids from the juice produced remove. Because the amino acids change the pH, are the cause of an inversion of sucrose, lead with it to sugar losses and are a hindrance to sugar crystallization. The amino acids generated in the process are bound with lime and that in itself as animal feed usable protein is a sensible one Usage lost. The amino acids are made with the lime on agricultural fields and have hardly any fertilizer there, while those in the beets contain a valuable animal feed are lost in this process.

Another problem is that contained in the beets Pectin that must be removed from the juice because it is becomes viscous at the process temperatures and in which previous process flow for a fast clogging of used filter leads. The raw juice can therefore not are filtered, another reason for the addition of Calcium hydroxide to break down the pectins.

A third problem is with the beets in the process introduced bacteria that the beets during their storage do nothing because they are during the beet campaign prevailing outside temperatures are idle, the but at the temperatures of juice making by the Heat in the extraction tower become very active and not only eat sugar, but through their metabolic products make the juice sour what you add by adding of formalin has to compensate. This encore is over questionable for various reasons.

This energy-intensive and with the problems shown laden "hot" juice making was in progress of the years because of the ever increasing processing quantities of sugar beets in the sugar factories become the sugar manufacturing process as possible to run continuously, even though the industrial sugar manufacturing once with a "cold" Juicing had started like it does today partly in the production of cooking oil and fruit juices is applied.

US 3477873 beschreibt ein verfahren zur Gewinnung von saft aus Zuckerrüben durch Zerkleinerung Trennung mit einer Presse, Laugung, weitere Pressung und ReinigungUS 3477873 describes a method for extraction of juice from sugar beet by crushing Separation with a press, leaching, further pressing and cleaning

The invention avoids the disadvantages of the prior art Technology. It is the object of the invention with simple Means the process of juice production at continuous To design the procedure so that the Juice extraction from those who dominate the beet campaign Temperatures and therefore energetically essential runs cheaper and that the contained in the beet Protein can be fed to the animal diet can, and execute the process so that the with the Sugar beet bacteria introduced into the process cannot take effect.

The invention is that the size reduction Sugar beet at normal outside temperature during the Beet campaign takes place through a grinding process in which the cells are mechanically disrupted, but not completely be torn apart that the ground Beet mass at the same temperature in a separation stage, e.g. a centrifuge or press, in their liquid Part and their fixed part separates that one then the fixed portion of a further grinding process subjects, in which the cells are further unlocked and then the ground product at the same temperature in another separation device, e.g. one High performance centrifuge, again in a liquid and separates a fixed part that the cold obtained Juice now quickly heated to about 90 °, briefly sterilized with it, and then in a small amount Precipitants, e.g. an electrolyte, admixed and in this way the protein in the juice fails, that you remove from the juice in a separation stage, and that the juice obtained is now for further processing feeds while the precipitated protein added to the separated solid part again.

This process can be operated continuously uses considerably less energy because only the one received Juice, but not solid matter and in the extraction tower added water must be heated, the The use of lime is eliminated, the use of chemicals has decreased, in particular the use is no longer available of formalin and sulfur dioxide. It will Protein as such is separated and can in the course of the process can be used as cattle feed by adding up to the low sugar residues otherwise only contain fiber Solid mass is mixed.

As a result, this process is not only technically previous methods working with extraction tower consider it works cheaper and in operation is also in the purchase of the machinery in the Cost cheaper.

With this method, it is advantageous if the Juice obtained in both separation stages before the short-term Heating mixes with each other and thus the same Machines for processing the two processing stages resulting juices used.

To avoid discoloration of the juice in the production process, which can occur if the juice comes from any For a long time in contact with atmospheric If air stops, it is advisable that one the treatment of the beet mass until it is heated carried out under reduced oxygen presence.

A system is used to carry out this method for extracting juice from sugar beet for sugar production with a beet washer, a beet shredder and a separator, which is characterized in that the beet shredder a grinder or grater is through their grinding process, that at normal outside temperature during the beet campaign, the cells are made mechanically open minded, but not completely torn apart be that of the beet grinder a separator, preferably a centrifuge or press, which is the crushed Beet mass in a liquid portion and a solid Part separates that a collection vessel for the liquid part or a pipeline is provided and that to the output of the separator for the fixed portion another shredder connected and this another separation device, preferably in the form of a centrifuge, downstream is that a device for the short-term for the juice obtained High heating and a station for adding electrolytes and protein precipitation are downstream that this Station a separator for separating the precipitated protein (a static stripper) is connected downstream and that this facility a station to hand over the now pure juice downstream of the plant for further processing to sugar is. Another method uses a flocculant added to the juice.

This machine effort is compared to the previous one To buy production facilities small, inexpensive, because the required machines already come as standard can be made for other purposes and inexpensive can be operated with little energy. These systems can also be used on a smaller scale operate without economic loss, making it possible juice production is decentralized into smaller ones To carry out plants and other sugar crystallization To be carried out centrally. That would become one lead to further cost and energy savings because the large amounts of sugar beet would only be short distances transport that as cattle feed and fertilizer too waste products using also only short distances, while the juice produced, only one in its amount Fraction of the beet volume, with less effort for further processing to be transported.

For protein use, it is useful that the facility to separate the precipitated protein a mixer processing solid mass Conveyor device is connected downstream.

There is a possibility that a centrifuge mechanical pressing device is connected upstream.

The resulting pectin can also be obtained by separating it from the process.

There is less molasses. This is in one for you human nutrition appropriate condition.
