Die Vorratseinrichtung besteht aus einem Kartuschen-Sortier- und Regallager, in dem eine Vielzahl von Farbkartuschen sowohl mit gleichem als auch mit unterschiedlichem Farbmaterial lagern. - Coating plant for coating objects, particularly vehicle bodies, with paint material, with frequent colour changes,
with a stocking facility in which paint materials of different colours are made ready,
with a transport facility for the different paint materials from the stocking facility to at least one application facility (9), and
with a control facility (2) linked with the stocking facility, the transport facility and the application facility (9) and also linked with control elements, and set up so that
when a specific object (6) is present in the coating station, the individual paint material that is required and has been allocated is available at the application facility (9),
wherein the stocking facility is a cartridge sorting and retrieval unit (5) in which a large number of cartridges (12, 13) of similar and dissimilar paint material are stored,
the storage locations of the individual paint cartridges (12, 13) together with information on the colour of the paint material (19) contained in each cartridge and/or the quantity of paint material (19) contained in each cartridge can be acquired by the control unit (2) and a corresponding paint cartridge (13) can be dispensed at an outlet (14) of the cartridge sorting and retrieval unit (5) by a control signal containing coded colour and/or quantity information on the individual paint material (19) to be delivered at the application facility (19) for a coating, and
the transport facility is a cartridge transport facility by means of which paint cartridges (13) dispensed at the outlet (14) of the cartridge sorting and retrieval unit (5) are transportable in the closed condition via a supply line (7) to a docking station (8) upstream of the application facility (9), paint cartridges (13) arriving at the docking station (8) being opened and the paint material (19) ejected, and the cartridge transport facility including a return line (10) by means of which wholly or partly emptied paint cartridges (13d, 18) are returnable from the docking station (8) to storage locations, predetermined by the control facility (2), in the cartridge sorting and retrieval unit (5),
characterized in that
the cartridge transport facility comprises tubes in the supply line (7) and in the return line (10) in which the paint cartridges (12, 13, 18) are transportable under pneumatic control in the manner of a pneumatic tube conveyor. - Coating plant according to Claim 1, characterized in that the tubes (7, 10) have a circular cross-section and the paint cartridges (12, 13, 18) are correspondingly formed as cylinders with at least two sliding and guiding rings (22) on the circumferential surface of the cylinder.
- Coating plant according to Claim 1 or Claim 2, characterized in that the paint cartridges (12, 13, 18) contain a cylinder-piston arrangement, such that in the filled condition the individual piston (23) is located in a rearward "full" position and the opposite forward end of the cartridge which forms the docking end is closed (24),
in that in the docking station (8) the forward end, or stopper (24), of the cartridge can be opened and in that the paint cartridge (13c) can be forcibly emptied by displacement of the piston (23) from outside the cartridge. - Coating plant according to Claim 3, characterized in that the displacement of the piston (23) it is controlled as to time and/or pressure for a defined emptying of the paint cartridge (13c).
- Coating plant according to Claim 3 or Claim 4, characterized in that the forward end of the cartridge which forms the docking end is closed by a spring-loaded valve.
- Coating plant according to any one of Claims 3 to 5, characterized in that the supply line (7) and/or return line (10) connect to the docking station (8) in their longitudinal transport direction as a supply tube and a return tube,
in that a transverse shift device (16) for shifting at least one paint cartridge present in the docking station (8) transversely with respect to the longitudinal transport direction is included, such that when the paint cartridge (13c) is in the transversely shifted position the back of the piston (23) is accessible to a pushrod (26) for emptying the cartridge, the cartridge (13c) being in communication with a spray device (27) by its opened, docking end. - Coating plant according to Claim 6. characterized in that while one paint cartridge (13c) is in the transversely shifted emptying position, the next paint cartridge (13b) for the next coating operation is transportable into a holding position in the transverse shifting device.
- Coating plant according to any one of Claims 1 to 7. characterized in that the loading and unloading of the cartridge sorting and retrieval unit (5) are performed automatically at time intervals via a corresponding entry (15) and exit (17).
- Coating plant according to any one of Claims 1 to 7, characterized in that the cartridge sorting and retrieval unit (5) contains interchangeable magazines for a plurality of paint cartridges (12, 13, 18).
- Coating plant according to any one of Claims 1 to 9, characterized in that every paint cartridge (12, 13, 18) carries on its exterior at least one code, in particular a bar code. corresponding to its specific contents, this code being detectable by sensors of the control facility (2).
- Coating plant according to any one of Claims 1 to 10, characterized in that at least one shaking device, each such device catering for at least one paint cartridge (13) to be processed, is provided in the cartridge sorting and retrieval unit (5) and/or in the transport path and/or in the docking station (8), for thorough mixing of the paint material (19) contained.
