Definitions

  • the invention relates to a printing method for generating a Print image on a substrate in which a print carrier is provided, the surface of which according to the structure of the printed image to be printed is exposed to water vapor.
  • a print medium for example a printing plate, a printing tape or a printing template
  • partially printing corresponding to the print image to be printed Areas formed during the printing process
  • Color can be colored and then the carrier material print with the color.
  • Various methods are known in printing areas. For example, the DIRECT IMAGING process from the company Heidelberger Druckmaschinen, on which on a silicone-coated Film by partially burning away the silicone layer a print template is created, the silicone-free Adjust the color during the printing process and print on the carrier material.
  • Another known one Processes become hydrophobic and hydrophilic on the print medium Areas according to the structure of the print Print image generated.
  • US-A-3 072 049 and US-A-2 002 815 are printing devices known, each after a printing process work in creating the thin moisture film on the surface of the print medium instead of the Use of application rollers or spray devices Water vapor on the hydrophilic areas of the print medium brought. Again, the surface of the print carrier is which is exposed to water vapor, accordingly the structures of the printed image to be printed in divided into hydrophobic and hydrophilic areas.
  • the invention provides a printing method, at which the surface of the print carrier is selective and partial is so acted upon by steam that on the The surface is a partial water film that produces the printed image trains.
  • this printing method can on the use of a Print carrier, on the surface of which hydrophilic and hydrophobic Areas are formed, so that additional Steps are eliminated.
  • the chemically pretreated Print carrier uses the selective printing method Water use a pressure carrier with even Surface on which the water film resulting from the printed image is applied. This makes it possible within a Printing process to change the print template so that the printing process works with very high flexibility.
  • this printing process is also the use of an intermediate carrier, for example a blanket or a roller with rubberized Surface, proposed, which adapts to the different adapts used carrier materials.
  • an intermediate carrier for example a blanket or a roller with rubberized Surface
  • a radiation source for example a laser with deflection and focusing optics, high-temperature lamps or laser diode arrays, and / or a heat source, such as Heating elements, thermal combs or microwave elements Places
  • a radiation source for example a laser with deflection and focusing optics, high-temperature lamps or laser diode arrays, and / or a heat source, such as Heating elements, thermal combs or microwave elements Places
  • a heat source such as Heating elements, thermal combs or microwave elements Places
  • a vaporization device with a Water supply instead of of a dampened fabric tape opposite the surface of the pressure carrier a vaporization device with a Water supply arranged.
  • the steaming device has one Variety of wells filled with water, in each at least one heating element is provided which is independent of the other heating elements can be operated. By applying the heating elements are selectively activated by pulses, so that the water in the well is evaporated and condensed on the overlying print carrier. By Varying the amount of energy supplied can change the amount of steam defined changes. There is also the possibility the resulting water film selectively in its strength to design.
  • FIG. 1 describes a first embodiment of a vapor deposition device 70 for selective steaming of the printing tape 72 of a printing device 74 (cf. FIG. 2).
  • Evaporator 70 has a driven in the direction of movement of the printing belt 72, arranged in parallel with a small distance to the printing belt 72 Fabric tape 76, which by a roller system (not shown) is continuously moistened with water.
  • Heating device extending transversely to its direction of movement (not shown) provided.
  • This heater has a large number in the longitudinal direction side by side radiation sources 78 arranged in a row, which are selective and can be activated independently of each other.
  • FIG. 2 shows a schematic representation of the printing device 74, in which the first embodiment described in FIG. 1 the vaporization device 70 is used.
  • the Printing device 74 has a driven, clockwise rotating conveyor roller 80, shown on the left in Figure 2 is, as well as an approximately at the same height, in Figure 2 shown on the right printer roller 82, the axis runs parallel to the axis of the conveyor roller 80. About in the middle to the feed roller 80 and the pressure roller 82 is below a parallel deflection roller 84 is provided.
  • the printing belt 72 is over the conveyor roller 80, the printing roller 82 and the guide roller 84 passed around.
  • the cleaning facility 102 has a pretensioned band 72 adjacent wiper lip 104 and one arranged downstream Cleaning brush 106, used to remove water and paint residues serve on the printing side of the printing tape 72.
  • the Radiation sources 78 of the heater with water selectively and partially heat moistened fabric tape 76, whereby the water stored in the fabric tape 76 evaporates and on the side facing the fabric tape 76 of the print ribbon 72. This way it gets on a partial surface of the printing tape 72, the printed image reproducing water film. That so humidified Printing tape 72 is fed to the dyeing station 86, in which the ink roller 88 ink onto the surface of the printing tape 72 applies. The areas that are not wetted with water colored while the water on the wetted with water Areas prevented from coloring these areas. To the inking of the printing tape 72 moves the inked Section of the printing tape 72 in the transfer printing point 94, in the due to the action of the counter-pressure roller 96 Print image is printed directly on the carrier material 100.
  • FIG 3 shows a second embodiment of a vapor deposition device 120, which instead of the vaporization device 70 used in the printing device 74 shown in Figure 2 can be.
  • the vaporization device 120 has one transversely to the direction of transport of the printing tape 72 via its heating strip 122 extending across the width.
  • the heating strip 122 has a plurality in side by side in its longitudinal direction cylindrical depressions 124 arranged in a row, the a heating element 126 on each of their closed ends and the respective open end face of the pressure band 72 is facing.
  • heating elements 126 By selectively activating the heating elements 126 becomes that located in the respective recess 124 Water heated so strongly that it evaporates and settles on the the heating strip 122 facing side of the printing tape 72 precipitates, so that a partial, reproducing the printed image Water film is formed. Then it will be like this wetted band 72, as already described above, in the same Way through the dyeing station 86 and the transfer printing station 94 promoted to print on the carrier material 100.
