Method of mounting a vehicle headlamp consisting of a housing (2), a reflector (4), a cover plate (5) and a frame (6) connecting the reflector (4) and the cover plate (5) to the housing (2), the reflector (4), the cover plate (5) and the frame being bonded together to form an insert (3) releasably connected to the housing (2), characterised in that the reflector (4) is inserted by means of a laterally projecting edge (17) into a circumferential rim (12) of the cover plate (5), adhesive (22) is introduced into an adhesive bed (15) formed by the circumferential edge (17) and an adjacent region of the reflector (4) and then the frame (6) is slipped over the reflector (4) in the beam direction so that a groove (19) arranged at one end of the frame (6) engages over the circumferential rim (12) of the cover plate (5).
  7. Method according to claim 6, characterised in that the frame (6) is placed by means of the free end (21) of an inner wall (20) on the laterally projecting edge (11) of the reflector (4).
