Abstract

The transport vehicle which runs on rails has a series of windows and a central longitudinal axis (L). It has two support posts (4) carried by the base structure (1) connecting the base to the roof (3). Each post defines an axis (A4,A5) located in a vertical plane perpendicular to the longitudinal axis. Side walls are carried by six successive posts.       the second lateral wall is supported by a second series of at least six successive posts (5), the support posts (5) of the second series being connected by one or a plurality of longitudinal beams (7) in the vicinity of the roof (3) ;
      each support post (4,5) defines an axis (A4,A5) which is situated in a vertical plane perpendicular to the longitudinal axis (L);
      the support posts (4) of the first series define a first series of vertical planes;
      the support posts (5) of the second series define a second series of vertical planes;
      characterised in that:
      in at least four successive vertical planes of the first series, a support post (5) of the second series does not extend;
      at least one vertical plane of the first series extends between two vertical planes of the second series, separated from one another by a distance of less than 2.5 m.
    2. Vehicle according to the preceding claim,
      characterised in that at least four successive vertical planes of the first series extend respectively between two successive vertical planes of the second series.
    3. Vehicle according to any one of the preceding claims,
      characterised in that:
      at least three support posts (4) of the first series which define vertical planes of the first series in which a support post (5) of the second series does not extend, are each connected to a support post (5) of the second series by an arch (17), which extends in a plane which is inclined relative to a plane which is perpendicular to the longitudinal axis (L).
    4. Vehicle according to claim 3,

      at least four support posts (5) of the second series, define vertical planes of the second series, in which a post (4) of the first series does not extend, these at least four support posts (5) of the second series being extended by an arch (51), which extends along the roof, between one, or the, longitudinal beam (7) which connects the, or some, support posts (5) of the second series, and one, or the, longitudinal beam (6) which connects the, or some, support posts (4) of the first series.
    6. Vehicle according to claim 5, characterised in that each arch (41,51) has an extension which extends from one, or the, longitudinal beam (6,7), as far as a longitudinal beam which defines the upper edge of a window (F1, F2).
    7. Vehicle according to any one of the preceding claims, characterised in that at least one vertical plane of the first series extends between two vertical planes of the second wall, separated from one another by a distance (D) of less than 2 m, and preferably 1.5 to 2 m.
    8. Vehicle according to any one of the preceding claims, characterised in that at least part of the vehicle has an asymmetrical arrangement of the windows (F1) of the first lateral wall (10), relative to the windows of the second lateral wall, the vehicle also having seats, the adjacent seats of the first lateral wall (10) having an arrangement which is asymmetrical relative to the adjacent seats of the second lateral wall.
    9. Vehicle according to any one of the preceding claims, characterised in that it comprises two superimposed platforms for the transport of passengers.
    10. Vehicle according to any one of the preceding claims, characterised in that the support posts (4,5) consist of a hollow profile (20) with a rectangular cross-section.
    11. Vehicle according to any one of claims 1 to 9,
      characterised in that the support posts (4,5) consist of two angles (21) which are associated by a flat bar (22) which has one or two windows (23), or by flat bars (24).
