Description

The invention relates to a safety switch with a switch housing and a front side in a plurality of predetermined angular positions thereto fixable switch head, according to the preamble of claim 1.

The safety switch in question are known in many designs. The basic requirement is that they must be designed in such a way that when the actuator is pulled out, the switch-off position is also forced to occur. In the switch housing, the mechanical and electrical or electronic components are installed in addition to the switching elements. In the flanged switch head, a mechanical switching element is mounted, which is switched by an actuator not belonging to the safety switch. Such a mechanical switching element is for example a ratchet wheel.

In the previously known embodiments, it is necessary that for fixing the attachment on the switch housing, the fasteners, such as screws, are solved. This is time consuming, with the risk that the fasteners are lost. Usually, the switch housing is fixed by two fastening screws. Unless it's made of a plastic is made, the outgoing from the mounting screws surface pressure in the adjacent area is quite high.

From DE 40 31 348 A1 discloses a safety switch with a switch housing and a switch head is known in which the switch head is secured by a locking screw after adjusting the operating position. This determination can be regarded as non-positive. According to another embodiment, it is also provided that the position of the switch head is fixed by latching. The switch head can be pre-fixed in four predetermined rotational positions in 90 ° degree increments by a locking element contained in the switch housing. However, the final operating position may differ from this prefixed rotational position.

Although in the known safety switch, the switch head can be fixed in any desired rotational position relative to the switch housing, however, the locking screw can be released in the operating state, so that then a new adjustment is necessary.

The invention has for its object to form a safety switch of the type described in more detail in the simplest way so that the setting of the switch head on the switch housing in the different angular positions in the simplest way without the use of parts is possible. In addition, the starting from the mounting screws surface pressure should be reduced.

The stated object is achieved by a positioning element which is designed as a flat component, and wherein the switch housing has a guide element for, relative to the longitudinal axis of the switch housing, radial movability of the positioning element.

The positioning is made of a rigid material, preferably made of steel and also designed so that the force exerted by the mounting screws surface pressure over the entire contact surface between the switch housing and the positioning is distributed. For positioning the switch head in dependence on the installation position of the safety switch, it is now no longer necessary that the switch head fixing fasteners must be solved. It is now only necessary to release the positioning of the switch housing and to bring out of engagement with the switch head. This can then be rotated. Due to the positive connection between the fuse element and the switch head in the operating position of the safety switch, the respective position of the switch head to the switch housing is also specified over longer periods of time.

Since now the switch housing has a guide element for radial movement of the positioning and this guide is firmly attached or formed on the switch housing, the positioning can be moved only radially to the longitudinal axis of the switch housing, so that the fuse element can be disengaged from the switch head. The guide element and the positioning element are designed so that a separation is not possible, so that the positioning element is arranged captive on the switch housing.

The safety switches are provided with an engaging in the switch head locking pin, which engages, for example, in the switching wheel. The central longitudinal axis of the switch housing then coincides with the longitudinal axis of the locking pin.

In a further embodiment, it is provided that the positioning element has screw holes for attachment to the switch housing. As a result, the positioning element can be fixed by at least one screw screwed into the wall of the switch housing. In a particularly advantageous manner, the guide element may be formed as an angled web, which is attached or molded on the switch housing, wherein the positioning element has an opening, in which engages a leg of the angle web. The angle web is expediently formed integrally with the switch housing. The free leg is vertical to the central longitudinal axis of the switch housing or the locking pin. Since the positioning element has an opening, the radial displaceability of the positioning element is predetermined. By appropriate design, it is captively coupled to the switch housing.

In a preferred embodiment, it is provided that the securing element is a web which is designed in the manner of a feather key, and that the switch head has a sleeve which is provided on the outside with a plurality of locking grooves in which optionally engages the web. In the normal version of the switch head or the sleeve is provided with four extending in the direction of the central longitudinal axis of the switch housing grooves. The determination of the positioning element is advantageously carried out by two screws, so that the positioning element also has two screw holes.

Reference to the accompanying drawings, the invention will be explained in more detail.

The safety switch shown in Figures 1 to 3 has a switch housing 10 and a switch head 11. For reasons of simplified illustration, the components mounted in the switch housing 10 and in the switch head 11 are not shown. The switch head 11 facing wall of the switch housing 10 is provided with a bore 12 whose central longitudinal axis defines the central longitudinal axis of the switch housing 10. Also on this side, the switch housing 10 is stepped down. The adjacent to the bore 12 wall of the switch housing 10 carries a positioning element 13. The positioning element 13 is a flat, rigid component, which is preferably made of steel. It is provided with two mutually spaced screw holes 14,15 to screw it by screws, not shown, with the switch housing 10. On the adjacent wall of the stepped part of the switch housing 10, a guide element 16 is attached centrally in the form of an angle web. The free, perpendicular to the central longitudinal axis of the bore 12 leg engages in an opening of the positioning member 13 a closing. In addition, a security element 17 in the form of a web or in the form of a feather key is attached to the positioning element 13 on the side facing the switch head 11 side. The free area extends into the bore 12. The switch head 11 is equipped on the switch housing 10 side facing with a sleeve 18 which is fixedly connected to the switch head 11 or integrally formed. On the outer peripheral surface of this sleeve 18 is provided with four by an angle of 90 ° to each other offset grooves 19. These grooves 19 extend in the direction of the central longitudinal axis of the sleeve 18 and the bore 12. Also, the sleeve 18 is provided with a central bore 20. The securing element 17 and the grooves 19 are matched to one another such that in the mounted position, the securing element according to the representation of FIG. 3 engages closing in one of the grooves 19. As a result, a positive connection between the switch housing 10 and the switch head 11 is achieved. It follows from the figures that the switch head 11 is to be connected in the illustrated embodiment in four different positions with the switch housing 10. Depending on the installation position of the fuse switch, this position can be changed. For this purpose, first the two screws, not shown, fixing the positioning element 13 to solve. The positioning element 13 can then be moved so far as shown in FIG. 2, that the securing element 17 is disengaged from the groove 19. The switch head 11 can then be rotated freely in both directions. It is prevented by the angle web 16 that a separation of the positioning element 13 from the switch housing 10 is possible. The switch head 11 is also provided with a transverse to the longitudinal axis of the sleeve 19, rectangular in cross section opening provided, in which an unillustrated actuating element engages when using the switch.
