Abstract

The barrier (1) comprises a bar, e.g. of a composition material, containing a conducting loop (5) linked to a detector (7). The detector notes any variation or alteration in the conductivity of the loop, which is made up of a number of strands in a fibre support and, consequently, any damage to the barrier. The conducting strands of the loop are short and braided, and the loop itself, which has a resistance of between 500 and 3000 Ohms, is embedded in the composition material. The barrier can be, for example, 4.85 m long, with the loop extending 1.60 m from its fixing point.
