Description

The invention relates to a weapon system for a main battle tank or the like. with a gun barrel having weapon and electronics for generating directional signals for a with the weapon connected straightening system, the electronics comprising a memory.

Whether one with a weapon system, e.g. a main battle tank, missile shot a target actually depends on a number of different influencing factors. Especially the individual The shape of the bending line of the tube core axis is an important factor. In addition, the pipe properties change over time due to wear or changes in the bending line each weapon has a relatively large influence on the trajectory of the corresponding one Have bullets.

From DE-A-42 18 118 a telescopic sight for handguns is known, on which a range finder, electronics with processor and chip card reader for a replaceable Chip card and two adjusting elements for changing the height and side of the target optics arranged are. Ammunition-specific data are stored on the chip card by the processor read and in corresponding adjustment signals for height and side adjustment of the scope in be converted with respect to the gun barrel. The subsequent aiming of the gun barrel takes place then by the shooter himself.

From US-A-3 538 318 is also a weapon system for firing Large-caliber ammunition known that a device for determining the state of wear and the total number of shots of the corresponding barrel. This wear data are stored in a non-volatile memory of the fire control computer and in the Determination of subsequent directional signals taken into account.

Finally, a security device for weapons is known from DE-A-44 33 337. In This document suggests, among other things, unauthorized use of the weapon thereby preventing a chip of the corresponding electronics associated with the weapon is removably arranged.

The present invention has for its object to provide a weapon system in which the current weapon or barrel properties of the barrel when determining the directional signals easily taken into account the first hit probability of To optimize the weapon system (e.g. of every main battle tank of a main battle tank fleet).

This object is solved by the features of claim 1. Further advantageous configurations the invention disclose the subclaims.

Essentially, the. Invention based on the idea of weapon-specific data on a to save the chip card assigned to the respective weapon and this via a chip card reader to the corresponding electronics required to determine the directional signals (usually the Fire control computer). The weapon-specific data on the chip card are in predetermined intervals updated.

In an advantageous embodiment of the invention, the current weapon-specific ones Data (e.g. the wear of the weapon barrel etc.) either by the fire control computer or through the chip card reader in connection with the fire control computer (e.g. from the number of shots, the tube temperature etc.) determined and after each shot or after a shot sequence over the Transfer chip card reader, which also has a writing unit, to the chip card. A separate update of the data of the respective chip card can be omitted in these cases. In addition, the current pipe properties for determining the directional signals are before each shot are available so that a significant increase in combat strength can be achieved in a simple manner.

Another advantage of the weapon system according to the invention is that manipulation the weapon systems are prevented by unauthorized third parties in a simple manner. Because only when the chip card reader identifies the chip card assigned to the respective weapon system and the corresponding weapon-specific data are transferred to the fire control computer, can activate the weapon respectively. As a rule, the chip card should only be used by the respective commander of the weapon system (or the main battle tank) managed (commander chip card) so that safe and intended use of the corresponding Weapon system is ensured.

Further details and advantages of the invention emerge from the following exemplary embodiment explained with reference to a figure.

In the figure, 1 is a schematically illustrated weapon system a main battle tank, which essentially consists of a weapon 2 with weapon barrel 3 and a fire control computer 4 with microprocessor 5 and buffer 6 for generating Alignment signals for a straightening system connected to the weapon 2 7 exists. A first output of the fire control computer 4 is therefore connected to the straightening system 7 via a line 8.

For entering target-relevant data in the fire control computer 4 is also one by the gunner or the commander of the tank-operated control unit 10 is provided.

According to the fire control computer 4 is a chip card reader 11 upstream, in the shaft 12 one of the Gun 2 associated chip card 13 with memory 14 insertable is. The reader 11 contains one for reasons of clarity Electronic circuit device not shown in detail for reading and, if necessary, overwriting the one stored in the memory 14 of the chip card 13 weapon-specific data including a microprocessor 15 and a memory 16. In addition, the chip card reader contains 11 a clock 17, whose function below is explained in more detail.

It is preferably the case in the memory 14 of FIG Chip card 13 filed data to data the pipe statics (e.g. the bending line of the tube core axis), the state of wear as well as the total number of shots of the corresponding gun barrel affect.

The following is the operation of the invention Gun system received:

After the battle tank including the Fire control computer 4 and the peripheral devices Commander of the tank put the chip card 13 in the slot 12 of the chip card reader 11. Only from this point on the weapon is activated. The reader reads the on the Memory 14 stores data, evaluates it and stores them in memory 16. The fire control computer calls from there 4 to determine directional signals.

After entering appropriate target-specific data (target distance) The fire control computer calculates the control unit 10 4 the directional signals (according to height and side) and gives these signals via line 8 to the straightening system 7.

Gesamtschußzahl des Rohres, Schußfrequenz) durch eine Schreibeinheit 19.If the commander now gives e.g. via a firing unit 18 den Firing order, so if the coincidence condition is met the corresponding firing pulse via line 9 the breech of the weapon 2 and the corresponding ammunition unit ignited. At the same time, the fire control computer 4 informed about the firing by means of a line 9 ' and updates the data on the chip card 13 (e.g. total number of shots of the tube, firing frequency) by a writing unit 19th

With the help of the arranged in the chip card reader 11 Clock 17 are the data at predetermined time intervals read out again from the memory 14 of the chip card 13, in the reader 11 evaluated and updated to the fire control computer 4 passed. This ensures that the fire control computer 4 always the current data from the Receives chip card 13.

The invention is of course not based on the above described embodiment limited. For example the data preparation for after a shot data to be transferred to the memory of the chip card instead of a chip card reader Writing unit in the fire control computer. Moreover can be used as a clock for reading the chip card an external clock or currently stored data the clock generator already present in the fire control computer be used.
