- the modification of the control levers 4 allow the end levers 14 of the control levers 4 to be separated from the grooves 7 disposed on the shafts 5, 5'. This separation permits the end levers 14 to be engaged with the outer surfaces of the shafts 5, 5'. The end levers 14 remain engaged with the outer surfaces of the shafts 5, 5', while the shafts 5, 5' are pulled out. As shown in Figs. 2, 4 and 6, the contact pins 2 disposed on the shafts 5, 5' come into contact with the ends of the pressing members 10, whereby the pressing members 10 are pressed into the lock mechanisms 25.

Claims (10)
- A carrying handle mechanism for a portable equipment comprising:a shaft disposed on a body of said portable equipment and having a first engageable portion and a second engageable portion, said shaft arranged to be forwardly/backwardly slidable with respect to said body;a carrying handle fixed to said shaft; anda lock mechanism which includes a control member which is arranged so that said control member may be engageable with said shaft under a predetermined pressing force at all times and said control member is engageable with said first engageable portion when said carrying handle is in an accommodated position, and said control member is engageable with said second engageable portion when said carrying handle is in a pulled-out use position.
- The carrying handle mechanism for a portable equipment according to said claim 1, wherein said first engageable portion is formed as a groove formed on said shaft.
- The carrying handle mechanism for a portable equipment according to said claim 1, wherein said first engageable portion is formed as a hollow formed on said shaft.
- The carrying handle mechanism for a portable equipment according to said claim 1, wherein said second engageable portion is formed as a free end surface of said shaft.
- The carrying handle mechanism for a portable equipment according to said claim 1, wherein said second engageable portion is formed as a hollow formed on said shaft.
- The carrying handle mechanism for a portable equipment according to said claim 1, wherein a contact pin is disposed between said first engageable portion and said second engageable portion so that it may be protruded from a surface of said shaft in a direction different from an axial direction of said shaft, and said lock mechanism further comprises a pressing member to which a force is applied at all times so that said shaft may be moved into said body.
- The carrying handle mechanism for a portable equipment according to said claim 6, wherein, when said carrying handle is in said pulled-out use position, said contact pin of said shaft is engaged with said end of said pressing member disposed on said lock mechanism so that said pressing member may be pressed into said lock mechanism against said predetermined pressing force applied to said pressing member.
- The carrying handle mechanism for a portable equipment according to said claim 1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 6 or 7, wherein said predetermined pressing force is applied to said control member at all times so that said end of said control member may be in contact with said first engageable portion or said second engageable portion of said shaft, and a modification of said control member allows said end of said control member to be modified, whereby an engagement with said first engageable portion or said second engageable portion of said shaft is released.
- The carrying handle mechanism for a portable equipment according to said claim 1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 6 or 7, wherein, when said carrying handle is in said accommodated position, said first engageable portion of said shaft functions so that said end of said control member may be fitted into said first engageable portion whereby said carrying handle is fixed in said accommodated position.
- The carrying handle mechanism for a portable equipment according to said claim 1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 6 or 7, wherein, when said engagement of said end of said control member with said second engageable portion of said shaft is released by modifying said position of said control member in order to move said carrying handle from said pulled-out use position to said accommodated position, said pressing member allows said shaft to be moved into said body by a predetermined distance.
